The creek was once the town's 'Main Street', as much travel was done via water. There was no through-road to Skamokawa until the 1930s. The human population is small, outnumbered by a variety of wildlife. You may see deer in the yard, Eagles, Osprey and Red-Tailed Hawks are common sights, as are Herons and many migrating water-fowl. You may hear coyotes yipping in the evening. Beaver, Otter and Nutria are often seen in the local sloughs. Getting Around2 hours drive from Portland, 3 hours from Seattle. We are just off of Washington State Highway 4, about 30 miles west of Longview, Washington. We are an hour away from Longbeach and Astoria. Other Things to NoteWe have one restaurant in our tiny town: The Duck Inn, walking distance, about 7 minutes, American menu and full bar with a deck overlooking Brook's Slough.

The SpaceThe Inn At Crippen Creek Farm is a 15 acre organic farm nestled in a quiet, remote valley in the Willapa Hills. Our guests love the gourmet food, they are charmed by the animals but I think it is the quietness that speaks loudest to them. In a world that is increasingly addicted to noise and speed, silence becomes golden. Guest AccessOur guests are free to gather in the great room or the screened porch, stroll about our 15 acres, sit by the creek or play a game of bocce on our bocce court. Check in: 3:00 p.m. Breakfast: 8:30 a.m. Check out: 11:00 a.m. Interaction with GuestsGuests are welcome to be as reclusive or as social as they wish. Many like to sit at the counter as Don prepares a meal or sign up for a cooking class and participate in the meal preparation. The NeighborhoodWe love the quiet and lack of traffic. No sirens, no booming stereos. We can count on one hand the number of vehicles that we see while on a walk or bike ride. A morning walk is a real treat. Getting AroundGuests should have their own vehicle to get around. It's a great place to bike without having to dodge traffic. Other Things to NoteOur county is small...there is not even one stop light in our county. Dining options are pretty much limited to small town diner fare so if you are looking for a special food experience, ask about our optional gourmet dinners. We can also provide recommendations for dining and sight seeing in nearby Astoria and the Long Beach Peninsula. We have fabulous kayaking in the area with world class guides.
