The SpaceThis is a precious 1/1 ranch. It is fully furnished. There is a sofa bed for extra guests. The Ranch is located in Indian Hills Nudist Park. The park was opened in 1971. The park is clothing optional. No street clothes are allowed in the pool/community area and nudity is required in the pool and hot tubs. The SpaceThe house is elevated 16 feet. The back of the house overlooks a marsh and Lake Pontchartrain and the front of the house overlooks Big Branch Wildlife Refuge. From the Big Branch Website: "It comprises the largest undeveloped natural area along the lake’s northern shore. Within it are sandy beaches, offshore grass beds, marshes, hardwood hammocks and pine flatwoods."

          The SpaceThe home is located directly on the Bayou with a very nice recently built "Party Deck"/Boat Dock with arbor for great little gatherings. The great thing is that it has multiple places for gathering for dinning, fun activities, and gathering with friends, from the Deck, to the Garage, to the back yard, to the patio with outdoor brick grill on the side. Its a great place to enjoy the quite serene beauty of the bayou while being close enough drive to New Orleans (25 miles away) to have fun in the big city! Guest AccessComplete access to the home except our downstairs lockout for supplies. Interaction with GuestsIts a rarity we have to be contacted after check-in since the home amenities speak for themselves, yet the same level of response is given after check-in as during your booking processes. We make sure we are always available to answer any questions no matter how small they might be. The NeighborhoodThe home is surrounded by bamboo reeds which make for a pleasant view. There is only on close neighbor and that's still an acre away behind the bamboo reeds. The other neighbors or further away and rarely noticed. The home is somewhat secluded back in this little area. Another beauty of the location is that it sits about a quarter of a mile away from a Marina and boat launch! So from launch of your boat to pulling up to our dock is about a 2 minute ride! Getting AroundThe home is about 2.5 miles one direction from a major mall, Home depot, Sams, Olive garden, Chili's and Walmart so dining and groceries are a quick trip around the corner. The other direction has even more amenities within roughly 3 miles down the road with a cute and quaint downtown area with bars, restaurants, Art galleries and much more. New Orleans is a short drive away at only 25 miles. The Louis Armstrong Airport in Kenner/New Orleans is roughly about 45 min away. Our suggestion is to call an Uber cab. Its a quick trip and saves the hassle of renting a car. Other Things to NoteThe up side to renting a home is that its usually quite a bit cheaper than a hotel especially for larger groups. Vacation Homes offer a great deal of amenities that hotels don't. However, if your a homeowner yourself, you know that a home is a constant project. Add to that, people who don't treat your home very well and you have a variety of constant updates to the property. While we do absolutely everything we possibly can to keep the home in as perfect condition as possible, it may occasionally happen that a previous renter damaged something that is in need of repair, or that a door handle needs screwing in. Please understand that these small things are just part of renting a home. They are always correctly promptly when possible. However, nothing will be allowed to interfere with your comfort or your stay. If, however, there is something that needs attention during your stay, please always communicate with us and we will work to resolve anything we can very promptly.

Unfortunately since we are a suburb of New Orleans(nawlins) automobiles are required.....Every Wednesday night is sailing/regatta night and they are always looking for friendlies to help sail. You can also bring a boat or rent a boat Other Things to NoteThe Dock is a fun and lively meeting place. its on the water 2 minutes by boat or 10 minutes by car. it has a boat launch, bar, restaurant, boat rentals, live music, beach volleyball and more. You can see it from your back door looking west. Phil's Marina is a great local restaurant which you can walk to in 5 mins taking the public walk along the marina walk towards the blue roofs East. If you like seafood its is excellent and inexpensive...best buy is their shrimp plate 24 beautiful medium size shrimp lightly battered and fried for under $11.00. Southside Café is another but requires 10 min drive. For more formal dining there is an array including Michaels, Palmettos, Nathan's and Youngs for steaks.

          If you are looking for a quiet place to get away, this is it. The house has a rustic feel with a wonderful screened porch which has two tables, chairs, hammock and porch swing. There is usually a breeze blowing through the porch and the sounds of the birds and wind chimes are very relaxing. It's the place where everyone spends the evenings relaxing and listening to nature. There is another deck with a table and chairs and barbeque pit. The house is spacious enough to accommodate family reunions or a group of friends getting together. There are other homes of various sizes if other homes are needed for large groups. It is close enough to visit New Orleans, and a great place to come home and relax. The Porch House is a raised, cedar, Acadian style home with a 42 ft. porch and tin roof. It has ceramic tile in the living, dining and kitchen areas. There are four bedrooms and three baths (one pillow top king bed and a queen size bed downstairs and a queen and full upstairs in one bedroom and a queen in the other upstairs bedroom ). There is a loft/nook which has two twin beds, with a desk separating the two beds. The bedrooms have a taupe colored carpet. The kitchen has ash cabinets with an island perfect for entertaining. It is uniquely and comfortably decorated.The Porch House is not new and far from sterile, but it truly sparkles with memories and great energy of those that have visited before.
