One of Smith's first finds, Stoke Park is an enormous, imposing stately mansion designed by 'Mad' King George III’s architect, which, if it weren’t for the Union Jack flying, would look like a mini White House. As well as boasting a golf course (where James Bond and Goldfinger enjoyed a round, no less), Stoke Park has its own incredible spa, Stoke Park Spa, separate from the mansion, with an inviting indoor pool looking over the gardens.

The SpaceThis is a family house - busy but not noisy... People, cats, dogs ... They all take their toll on the house and there is just me trying to keep on top of it all!! It is not a bed and breakfast with a team of cleaners appearing at 6 am every day ... Just me... The Airbnb room is spotless - the rest of the house is basically clean... Guest AccessThis is a family house - so guests can use the kitchen to prepare an evening meal... Interaction with GuestsOnce a booking is made and contact details have been released I am happy to answer any questions you may have about your trip and help in any way I can... Upon arrival you can have complete privacy if you wish but if you want to have a chat at any time I am usually around :D The NeighborhoodWindsor is gorgeous... I love the fact that we live only a few minutes walk away from the castle ... There is so much park land on the royal estate that everyone can enjoy... Getting AroundThe town has 2 stations going to London Paddington and London Waterloo .. The stations are about a 7 and 12 minute walk away from the house.. Other Things to NoteIf you are coming to Windsor on a short term work placement - the room is ideal being so close to the town centre, therefore no extra travel costs to think about ( and a reduced room rate compared to the nightly rate ) please get in touch if you have any questions about this..

The SpaceThe house is very quiet and tucked inside a walled garden. It is a sanctuary from any hustle and bustle. The garden is private and perfect for breakfast outside in the spring or summer. Guest AccessThe guests have access to a communal living room and the garden. Interaction with GuestsGenerally, I leave the guests to their own devises but I am a good cook and am happy to provide an evening meal or packed lunch if required (at an additional cost). Continental breakfast is included (except for long-stay guests). There is an excellent pub about 300m away which does evening meals. The NeighborhoodThe village of Farnham Common is nearby (1500m) with Italian, Indian and Thai restaurants, a fish and chip shop and many pubs, coffee shops and local supermarkets. Getting AroundThere is very little public transport so your own car is essential. I have very secure parking (within my own waled garden and security shutter). The SpaceThis is a little slice of perfect at the back of the house; it has a lovely atmosphere, tranquil and comfortable, with a pitched roof and a sky light so it is very light and airy; next to the shower room and with a view of the back garden, right in the heart of historic Windsor Town Centre. Your room has a very comfortable single bed, a desk and chair, chest of drawers, and wardrobe; there is an international converter plug with usb hubs, a towel is provided, and a hairdryer, an emergency supply of toiletries and an iron is available! It is possible to put a mattress on the floor for a second guest for a nominal £15 extra a night. There is all important WiFi Guest AccessYou are given a key and free to come and go as you wish. During your stay you have access to the rest of the house, guests often meet each other and socialise if they want to, some have made great connections and say that is the best part of their stay. We do cook in the kitchen and use the bathroom downstairs (to keep the upstairs shower room for guests). We want you to feel like you are home; there are fruit, nuts, cereal and soups on the kitchen counter to help yourself to, bread in the bread bin, and several teas, coffee and hot chocolate available whenever you want, just pop the kettle on. You have fridge space and cupboard space so you can cater for yourself, and you have full use of the fully-fitted kitchen, which is equipped with all mod cons, so you can rustle up a meal or snack for yourself. You are welcome to use the herbs, spices, oils and condiments if you cook. You are welcome to enjoy the living room, which has a comfortable leather sofa and chairs, flat screen TV and dining room table. There's an upstairs shower room for the use of guests, with hot water all day. There is a strict no smoking policy or vaping in the house for the comfort of all guests. There is an English cottage garden at the back, with a fire pit and social area to sit out in for your pleasure. In the local area you will find everything you need for a great stay; there are cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and pubs all within walking distance. There are also good transportation links; my house is just a short walk from two stations; where there is a regular service to London Paddington and Waterloo, which can take as little as 30 minutes. My house is perfectly located for visiting Windsor Castle. It is just a short walk to the castle which is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and also the official residence of the Queen. The Castle covers an area of about 13 acres, and contains the State Apartments, pieces from the Royal Collection, The Drawing Gallery, St George's Chapel, and many other treasures! We are also close to the river and the Long Walk, and just across the bridge from Eton village; with its quirky shopping street, college and cathedral. There is a lot to enjoy, over 2 million visitors a year to Windsor can't be wrong. Over 400 guests a year enjoy a warm and friendly If you need to know anything please do not hesitate to ask. Interaction with GuestsWe want you to feel like you are home straight away; I work outside the home so, for your convenience I have a key safe and you are given the code to pick up a key and check in at times that work for you. We set everything up so that your stay is as supported as we can make it right from the start. Everything every guest has taught us is put right back into every stay. You should find you feel at ease and comfortable straight away. You're welcome to help yourself to anything on the kitchen counter, there are fruit, nuts, cereal and soups on there to help yourself to, bread in the bread bin, and several teas, coffee and hot chocolate available whenever you want, teaspoons in the drawer underneath and everything you need should be in arms reach, just pop the kettle on. The shower is hot 24/7 enjoy, and there are toiletries made available should you forget yours. The lounge and dining area are great meeting places and you never know who you will come across, some great connections have been made right in this home - even some life-changing ones! We live here in an annex, and we have enjoyed years of good relations with our guests, many have gone on to become friends. Relax, it's home from home. The NeighborhoodThe neighbourhood is safe, quiet and friendly, it is also 5 mins walk from the town centre. It is a tourist destination and so it is a very desirable town. Getting AroundIf you need a taxi I highly recommend Windsor Radio Cars, (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN), they are the best value, reliable and trustworthy. Please consider calling them for transport to and from the airports particularly, and all short journeys in the area are best served by them. Windsor has two train services into London, and ample bus and coach services to the rest of the country. It also has easy access to the M4. Other Things to NoteWe live here in an annex, and we have enjoyed years of good relations with our guests, many have gone on to become friends. I work outside the home so, for your convenience I have a key safe and you are given the code to pick up a key and check in at times that work for you.

Getting AroundBus route 1B: Slough to Britwell via Slough Trading Estate Bus route 2: Slough to Burnham Bus route 5: Slough to Cippenham via Chalvey Bus route 6: Slough to Wexham Park Hospital Bus route 6A: Slough to Wexham Park Hospital via Wexham Court Bus route 7: Slough to Uxbridge via Wexham Court and Iver Heath Bus route 58: Britwell to Slough to Uxbridge via Langley Bus route 60: Eton Wick to Slough to Heathrow Terminal 5 via Eton, Datchet and Wraysbury Bus route 61: Eton Wick to Slough to Heathrow Terminal 5 via Eton, Datchet and Wraysbury Bus route 71: Slough to Staines to Heathrow Terminal 5 Via Windsor & Egham Bus route X74: High Wycombe to Slough Bus routes 75: Maidenhead to Slough Bus route 76: Cippenham to Slough to Langley to Heathrow Airport Bus route 78: Heathrow Terminal 5 to Slough to Britwell/Burnham Via Langley Bus route 191: Bracknell to Ascot to Windsor to Slough Bus route 701: Legoland - London Victoria ( Green Line ) Via Windsor and Slough Bus route 702: Legoland - London Victoria ( Green Line ) Via Windsor and Slough Trains: Slough is served by Great Western train service with frequent departures to Central London and West of England (Reading-15 minutes, Oxford-30 minutes etc). Also there is frequent train service from Slough into Windsor which takes just about 3 minutes. If you are visiting Windsor Castle this connection is highly recommended. Though any of the two exits from Slough train station will take you the flat, you are better off using the rail terrace exit. Heathrow Airport – is about 20-30 minutes by bus to or from Slough. If you are using the bus you will have to take bus 76 to Terminal 3 or bus 78 to terminal 5. Make sure you look for the right bus stand in these terminals If you are travelling from the airport end into Slough. You may want to use a cab if you prefer, this takes about 10-15 minutes and should not cost more than £20-£22. Gatwick Airport – is about an 50 minutes if you are driving and it’s best you take M25 clockwise from Gatwick end and leave at junction 15 to join M4. Slough exit on M4 are junctions 5 and 6. I think most people would say junction 6 is better but I just prefer exiting at junction 5. If you are not driving, you could consider taking a train from Gatwick to Reading and then take another train to Slough from there. I wouldn’t advise this route though. Another option from Gatwick is to take National Express Bus from Gatwick to Heathrow and then connect using any of the options above from Heathrow to Slough. I believe busses leave from Gatwick to Heathrow frequently: every 7-15 minutes. Remember to look for the right bus stand. Stansted & Luton Airport's- Easybus is available from these airports to Baker Street which both take about 1 hour. From Baker Street station, take Bakerloo Line to Paddington and hop on a Great Western train coming to or passing through Slough. They are frequent. If you prefer to take a train from Stansted Airport, then you will be alighting at Liverpool Street station. From there, connect the tube to Paddington station and take a train to Slough from there. Note: Central London is about 35-45 minutes journey altogether by train and 1 hour by buses 701 and 702 from Victoria Bus Station.
