The SpaceAlaska State Licensed. Our facilities appeal to those who want a non-commercial environment. Serene and quiet, this is the kind of place for those who enjoy nature and an Alaskan experience. During the summer you most likely will be treated sightings of eagles flying right past your picture window of the cottage or, while you are relaxing on the spacious private decks (2). Note: Bathroom is located down the steps from the bedroom which is upstairs. The stairs are somewhat steep so if you injured, large or have trouble negating such, this may not be suitable for a stay. There are about 8 steps going up. Remember, at night you will have to go down the steps to use the restroom. We are pleased to provide you with information on adventures for sightseeing, landscape viewing and outdoor photography tips. The full-time resident is both a national and internationally published outdoor photographer/author and has shows (or appearances) on Animal Planet, The History Channel and The Discovery Channel. Our business is officially listed through the state of Alaska as "A Walden's Pond", most appropriately named. Full kitchen and upright freezer to store your freshly caught salmon (if you fish). New hardwood floors, large stainless twin-door refrigerator, 6-burner natural gas stove for cooking meals, natural gas furnace, warm, new built-in large Maytag stainless microwave, snuggly and a "honeymooners" retreat. 48-inch HD flatscreen TV with Sat (Direct TV Network) and most importantly, free WIFI 24/7! Very private. New futon (if needed for a 3rd person), queen bed in loft. Million-dollar view of our private lake. Check-in time: anytime after 3:00 PM, Check-out time: 11:00 am. It is wonderful for two people. Not child-proofed. No pets and NO SMOKING. The cottage is in great demand and we suggest you reserve very early as each year we are usually 100% booked. If you desire a "special touch" for your honeymoon or other occasion, please let us know and we will do everything possible to assist you! We do not allow anymore than 3 people at the cottage, it becomes too small and we wish for our guests to enjoy every minute of their stay. Lake, trails. We have decks for each facility (the cottage, sleeping cabin, studio and the magnificent "The Retreat"). We also supply a gas barbecue in the social area to cook your meal if you so desire. Free to use as you wish. The cottage kitchen is fully operational to also cook your meals as well. Coffee maker, creamer and coffee furnished. Fresh towels and wash cloths provided. New charcoal grills for each facility as well! You supply your own charcoal/lighter. Smoke detectors in each building. We are a friendly, married couple and enjoy sitting around the fire sharing our experiences of the 17-years that we have lived in Alaska as photographers and filmmakers! From the giant Alaskan brown bears up close and personal to fishing for some of the largest salmon in the world, we love to fill the hearts and spirits of our guests and try in every manner to ensure that your stay is as pleasant as possible! We look forward to hearing from you and making you comfortable in every way! We only have two other residences on the lake and you are most welcomed to go explore and experience the wildlife and surrounding area. We will be most pleased to point you in the right direction to restaurants, supplies, groceries and other items you may require. There are many adventures you may wish to explore when vacationing here in Alaska. There is no public transit or otherwise, you will have to rent a car upon arrival in either Anchorage or at the Kenai airport. There are many facilities to rent from and it would be wise to make reservations both with us and the car rental places as early as possible. They tend to fill up way in advance before the summer season. If you have other questions prior to your arrival, please feel free to contact us and we will do our best to serve your needs and requirements. We also provide consultation on what you should do when in bear country as we are full-time residents. Please let us know what it is that you would like to do and we will do our best to make sure that you have that adventure. No pets allowed. We also have two bikes to use to explore anywhere you wish to go as well! Its great fun and adventure here! Private and secure parking, easy access to your cottage all on a wonderful boardwalk that was created for your convenience! Fires permitted (when weather allows such), we sometimes have a bon-fire to gather around and enjoy! Roast your marshmallows, hotdogs and sing around the fire! Or, enjoy the peace and quiet at the cottage without interference from anyone! We have a nice selection of Alaskan books (and related nature material) to read as well in each facility. Our neighborhood is rural, we have just two neighbors on our lake. Looking out front, you can only see the great Alaskan wilderness! This is about as good as it gets because you have the feel of the the "woods" yet, you are only 10-minutes drive from town. At night (and sometimes all day long!) you can listen to the loons on our lake and as you can see by the pictures, moose are quite likely to be seen anytime on our property! Simply said, we embrace nature. Your drive here is by automobile, all paved road from Anchorage except the last 300 yards which is a very well-kept gravel road. We are most please to assist you in every manner possible to enhance your stay here in the wilds of Alaska. Since we are nature photographers and writers, we can offer insight into many locations that we have experienced ourselves and save you time and possible frustration. Guest AccessWe have free bikes to use. If you go hike, carry bear spray...free to use! Interaction with GuestsWe warmly invite our guests to use the "commons area" with other guests to meet. It is always a wonderful time to sit around the campfire and share your experiences with others from around the world. Because we are small, it is quiet, serene and secure. The NeighborhoodThat it is small, residential and we only have two other residences on our lake! There are other houses around but they are farther away. It is quite easy to drive here, you DON'T need a four-wheel drive, any car is easily drivable to here. Getting AroundNo public transportation. No buses, camels, trains or elephants. Other Things to NoteWe ask you do not smoke in any facility. If you smoke, please do so outside and butt cans are provided. NO FISH CLEANING ANYWHERE. This attracts bears and we wish to ensure everyone's safety! We are very strict about this! There are a number of fish processors in town to take your salmon or halibut to. We are wildlife photographers and are most please to assist you in selecting areas for you maximum enjoyment to view and photograph them in the local area.
