Booking an early morning flight to Port Blair gets you in Havelock on the same day (and an afternoon flight on the way out). Carry a torch/flashlight everywhere you go. Being so far east, it gets dark faster than one realizes.
Come prepared for both strong sun and occasional rain.
Carry along one good pair of shoes/boots if hiking in the forest. Be careful and watch where you go. It is a forest .
