The SpaceHi there
I have a furnished double room available for short term rent.
We're a relaxed and happy household and enjoy a lot of good eating! My partner Elias who's a sociologist, I'm an artist (currently working full-time as an administrator on a short term contract) and Jazzy our beautiful, gentle cat.
My flat is a 3x double bed roomed (ex-council) flat on Peckham Park Road, on the 1st floor of a four story purpose built block (1930's)
Situated just off the Old Kent Road, our location is brilliant for quick and easy bus access to the centre. Central, West End, East London in 30 mins and the river Thames in 15 mins.
We are very close to these bridges; Westminster, Waterloo, London, Tower
It's a very nice and airy flat with a minimal but earthy aesthetic; stripped wood floors, ivory coloured walls and ceilings throughout, retro 60's sideboard and dining table, simple wood furniture and natural materials. The kitchen and bathroom are cosy, well designed spaces with everything you need
The double room is a good size, furnished, with lots of sun in the afternoon.
(we can't accept more than 2 people I'm afraid)
Bed linen, towels provided
Breakfast is not provided but you can help yourself to all the tea, coffee, oil and spices. There is a huge supermarket (Asda) - a 3 minute walk around the corner on Old Kent Road
Perfect for someone passing through London, or those between long term flats!
Claudia Guest AccessThe whole flat, like it's their home Interaction with GuestsWe're totally fine with chatting or not, whatever suits :) basically, we like people to feel at home and free to be in London how they like. The NeighborhoodI moved to Peckham quite soon after I came over from New Zealand and have been living here since 1996. It's a vibrant, eclectic inner city neighbourhood with much cultural diversity. Considered one of the coolest areas in London now, there's a great mix of African/South Asian/Eastern European communities to name the main ones and a fair few arty cafes, restaurants, bars, art galleries and so on.
Peckham village is a 10-15 minute walk away and has some great bars and eateries; Frank's Bar, Bar Story, The Montpelier Pub, The Peckham Pelican, Peckham Refreshment Rooms, Peckham Bazaar, Artusi, South London Gallery/Cafe69 are some of my favourites.
and the best coffee shops;
Persepolis, Cafe Viva, Lerryns, Trio, Anderson & Co
Our street, Peckham Park Road has a Newsagents (travel cards, groceries, off licence), 'greasy spoon' cafe, butcher, laundromat, dry cleaners and 3 takeaway bars.
The bus routes are very convenient here to connect you to most parts of central London easily and quickly. Getting AroundYou need an 'Oyster' travel card for all public transport in London
The daily 'capping' rate for only Bus travel is £4.40 / Bus+Tube/Metro is £8
Closest Bus Stop: Peckham Park Road
Closest Tube/Metro: Elephant & Castle
Closest BR/Train: Elephant & Castle, Peckham Rye, New Cross Gate
It's super convenient for buses - which are by the way, MUCH cheaper and nicer then the tube!
