The SpaceTwo clean, attractive rooms with private bathroom (shower, no tub), separate entrance and private porch over looking the Rock River. One finds a queen bed, dresser and wardrobe in the guest room and a fold-out couch, small table and chairs, chest with microwave and small fridge in the anteroom. Ours is a comfortable early 19th century Southeastern Vermont village home set back from the road among woods walks and sweet country roads--perfect for strolling, biking and cross-country skiing. Kitchen access for long-term stays. Free Wifi; limited cell service; ample parking. You'll find a couple shops and eateries in Newfane village a few miles north and many in Brattleboro, twelve miles south; Mount Snow is 20 minutes west and Stratton is 40 minutes north. We're a warm and quiet household--a conveniently located and peaceful retreat. Pets are fine if housebroken. Special rates apply for long-term stays. Rates are lower in mud season and the 9% Vermont room tax is included in the room rate. NEW! We now have our very own cafe in the village open Friday and Saturday nights. It's called "The Eatery." The food and atmosphere are GREAT! Guest AccessYou will have a two-room suite with a private bath, a dorm size fridge and a microwave. You have your own private section on my front porch and access from the bedroom to a sitting area out back. Unless I have family staying – and even then if you don't mind the company – you're welcome to use living room and parlor. You'll have breakfast in the dining room or outside in nice weather, if you wish. Long-term guests may have access to my kitchen. Interaction with GuestsNot much, if it's a fall to spring weekday (i.e., a school day), though I always leave breakfast out before I head to school. On weekends and in vacation periods, I'll interact as much as folks seem to want to. No matter what day of the week, I love to offer suggestions as to what to explore in the area, depending on guests' interests. The NeighborhoodWilliamsville is a small village of c. 275 within the town of Newfane. We love our community, neighbors are good to each other, and greetings are ample. Getting AroundIf you plan to stay for at least three days, I can pick you up from the train or bus in Brattleboro. Other Things to NoteBring your bikes and, in warm weather, your swim suits. We have several great rides and swimming holes nearby. And many lovely walks and hikes, too. Remember the fridge and microwave! Bring snacks and more if you're so inclined. My cat is a piece of work: If you want to give her attention, she'll lap it up: Otherwise, she's just as happy to be ignored.

The Spacethis cabin is completely quiet, except for crickets and birds and the sound of the rock river...this would make an exceptional retreat for one or more people...if it's more than 2 people staying, we'd need notification, as it you have access to only one small bathroom on the ground floor of our house. Guest Accessyou have access to a shower/toilet/sink on the ground floor, and access to the kitchen too, but we ask that you bring vegetarian food only to this place, dairy is fine but we've never had meat here...you also have access to an outrageously good vinyasa yoga class thursday 6-8 pm, or can book private yoga classes with peter or tracy from bhava yoga Interaction with Guestswe're around a fair amount, it's a 20 acre property with an extraordinary swimming hole, trampoline, meditation tower, lots of great hiking and restaurants a short drive away, we'd be happy to advise you...we do have a large dog on the property and 2 cats in the house. The Neighborhoodthe rock river is a spring fed river that you can not only swim in, but drink.... Getting Aroundyou'll want to have your own car to even get here, unless you're an intrepid biker... Other Things to Notewe're generally not going to be able to respond favorably to last minute requests. if you're looking for a place for today or tomorrow, you're probably better off looking elsewhere, as the cabin takes time to prep. also, if you're not a seasoned wood stove user, maybe better not to try booking this in cooler weather. you'll step into a nice warm cabin, but it's up to you to keep it going.
