I love how comfortable and tended to the neighborhood is, but also love that the hustle and bustle of the city just a few minutes up the 280.
There is a large community park with a pool, paved bike path, and separate small and large dog parks all within easy walking distance from our house.
You can park on the street, but be mindful of the street sweeping signs on Wednesdays and Thursdays to avoid a ticket. Getting AroundJust for an idea of location: We're located about 10 miles south the Mission District, and the Fisherman's Wharf is 4 miles from the Mission. The Golden Gate Bridge is 6.5 miles from the Mission.
There are SamTrans bus stops nearby (0.2 mile walk) that you can take to the local BART stations in South San Francisco for about $2 (there is also a free South City Shuttle SCS that takes you to the South SF Bart). Optionally you can walk to the BART station in about 25 minutes.
From the BART you can quickly get into SF city without your car, about $4. The BART gets you into a lot of parts of the city (Mission, Downtown, etc), and a transfer on the MUNI bus/metro in the city will get you to the west and north sides of the city (Golden Gate, Wharf, Castro, etc).
Taking an UBER or Lyft (taxi) is always an option to get to and from the BART station (1.5 miles from the house) or for a late night ride home from the city.
Optionally, it's a quick 15-20+ minute drive into the city if you did want to drive there. We are very close the 280, and the 101 which both go into the city.
* 7 min to SFO airport
* 15 min to the mission San Francisco
* 20+ min to downtown San Francisco
* 15 min to SFSU
* 1 hrs 15 min to Napa/Sonoma
* 2 hrs Monterey and Santa Cruz
* 45 min to San Jose/Silicon Valley
* 30 min to Half Moon Bay
* 35 min Oakland / East Bay
* 20 min to Giants AT&T Park
* 6 min drive (28 min walk) to BART station
* 5 min walk to SamTrans Bus Stop
* 15 min to the Pacific Coast in Pacifica
Look up the free SCS shuttle to the So SF BART on the samtrans website
The best BART & Bus app for finding trains is "511 Transit"
From SFO Airport we are about a 7-10 minute drive. Uber or Taxi is a great way to get to & from the airport (about $17-20 USD).
There is also public transportation that will get you close to the house but will take you longer (about 30+ minutes). It will cost less at about $10 USD, and requires a metro to bus transfer. You would take the BART metro from the airport to the South San Francisco station and then take a short bus ride, followed by about 5 minutes of walking to the house. Other Things to NotePlease note there are PETS: They are well behaved and well looked after, including groomed and house trained. I have two small dogs, and one cat.
I have one roommate that lives upstairs & has a smaller dog as well.
Because there's already a full house, I prefer to not have other pets in the house.
Also we're in a drought here in California, so please try to conserve your water usage.
