The SpaceWe're renting a studio apartment that has a kitchen and twin beds. (The twins can be made up as a king-sized bed if you give us advance notice.) The kitchen has a fridge, range, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and tea-making equipment. It is fully equipped for cooking and serving, but if we've forgotten anything, just ask. Our other listing, "Apartment in Vermont Countryside," at a slightly higher price, is the same studio plus an additional, separate single bedroom, balcony, and access to a sauna in colder weather. Guest AccessThe studio is self-contained. With your own entrance, you can have all the privacy you want. Or not. We're usually home and enjoy visitors. You also have access to a laundry room with washer and dryer. A barbecue and charcoal is available in summer. You're welcome to use the laundry and the sauna, both easily accessed in the main house. Cell service is miserable. If you want to use the house phone, just ask. No charge to anywhere in the U.S. or Canada. Interaction with GuestsWe're retired and are here much of the time. We're happy to help you with local tips and be available as you like. The house has two decks and gardens which you are welcome to enjoy whether we are home or not. The NeighborhoodStrafford is one of the prettiest and most-photographed villages in Vermont. We are about 15 minutes from Vermont Law School and 25 minutes from Dartmouth College. Horse events occur in Strafford at Huntington Farm and Tamarack Farm. We're a bit over an hour from Killington, the closest big downhill resort, but we're less than 45 minutes from the Dartmouth Skiway or Suicide Six. Also, the excellent new Strafford Nordic Center is only 5 - 10 minutes away. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation in Strafford; we wish there were, but this is rural Vermont. There is parking for your car, and a great hill to whizz down (and climb back up) on your bike. In winter, four-wheel-drive is a good idea even though we're right off Route 132. Other Things to NoteBreakfast is "do it yourself." There will be a few things in your kitchen to help you start the day including coffee, tea, juice, milk, cereal, maple syrup or honey, and bread or English Muffins with butter and jam. There's a TV without cable that has a DVD player, Netflix, and other Apple TV channels. Better than TV, there are some good books, a cd player/radio with a few cds, and fast wifi. There's an excellent country store just two miles down the road; on the village Common, there is an upscale country restaurant. There is a wide choice of restaurants in Hanover, Lebanon, and South Royalton, all 20-25 minutes away.

The SpaceWe're renting a studio apartment that has a kitchen and twin beds. (The twins can be made up as a king-sized bed.) Adjoining the main room is another, single bedroom that has a balcony. A sauna is just outside the single bedroom, and you're welcome to use it in colder weather. You also have access to a laundry room with washer and dryer. In the interest of clarity: We have listed the same place, without the single bedroom, as "Comfy Studio in Vermont Countryside." It is less expensive without the additional bedroom. Also in the interest of clarity: The first bedroom with twin beds is a semi-private alcove off the main space of the studio. The single bedroom with balcony is an entirely separate room. You can see this in the photos. Guest AccessThe apartment is self-contained. With your own entrance, you can have all the privacy you want. Or not. We're usually home and enjoy visitors.
