The SpaceGreat location! Our 3 bedroom house provides room for your group of up to six people (8 if 2 don't mind sleeping on couches), a much roomier experience than you'll find in the city. It is very close public transportation into the city as well as shopping centers for grocery stores, restaurants, convenience stores, and other shopping. If given a list well in advance, we would be happy to pick up groceries to stock the kitchen so that you are ready for your week's meals. (Cash or check would be required to cover grocery costs at check in.)
We offer great amenities that will make your stay comfortable including central air conditioning (or heat if it's unseasonably cold), wireless internet connection, coffee maker and keurig, ceiling fans in each bedroom, refrigerator, freezer, gas stove, microwave, toaster over, dishwasher, TV, washer, dryer, blue ray player, netflix access, and dressers for your clothes and belongings in the bedrooms.
Outside: We have a medium sized driveway that can fit one car under the car port, and two other cars as well. Our streets are also very wide, so it's easy to park on the street as well without competition for spaces. We have a private green backyard with space to relax and enjoy the beautiful September weather.
Being a family with young children ourselves, our home is especially well suited for families. Our master bedroom offers a roomy California King sized bed for two. Our second bedroom sleeps one person in a twin bed. Our third bedroom currently holds our daughter's crib if that is of use to you, but we can easily provide a twin bed instead for that room (or even keep both a twin and the crib in there if you can use it!) We also have a finished basement with a pull out couch bed that will comfortably sleep two. Our green backyard is a great spot to relax, and if you have kids, a great place for them to play as we have toys available for little ones as well. If your party is all adults, we are happy to tuck away children's toys in the basement prior to your stay. Guest AccessYou will have access to the whole house except for the attic and closets (dressers will be available for your clothes and belongings in each bedroom). Interaction with GuestsIf you had a question during your stay or needed recommendations, we would be available over the phone. We ask that you arrange your own transportation into the city for the week's events, but we are close by enough that we'd be available to help out in the case of an emergency. We want you to have your privacy for the week, but also want you to feel good that you have a local person to contact to put your mind at ease. The NeighborhoodWe are very blessed to live in a lovely, green, suburban neighborhood with very friendly neighbors, many of whom are also Roman Catholic. The house is nestled at the top of a hill overlooking the other homes and natural beauty that line the street. Their are lots of families, and a playground/park right down the street. Getting AroundOur home is the perfect location for getting into the city during the week of the World Meeting of Families, and the actual Papal Visit at the end of the week. The Scenic Road trolley stop is a 2 minute drive from our home, and will be open Monday-Friday (this one will be closed Saturday for the Papal Visit). Our home is 5 minutes to the Route 101 trolly located near the Springfield mall (which is one of the stations open during the whole week and the Papal Visit). We are a 10 minute drive to the Media/Elwyn regional rail line which will also be open during the week and Papal Visit. These are all safe, well known, and well lit locations. Other Things to NoteWe would love to make your stay as comfortable and easy going as possible! Please feel free to contact us with questions or inquiries about special accommodations.
