We are about 45 minutes drive from the airport and half an hour form the ferry. We can arrange pick ups and car rentals, cell phone rental and lots of introductions!
Do expect rain and even a chilly dawn until the sun gets up! We have hot water from a solar system which you can put into the pool to take the edge off! See you soon the hammock is (URL HIDDEN) not worry about negative reviews about the temperamental (URL HIDDEN) has been pensioned off and replaced. New one functions without having to be coaxed.
Guest AccessGuests access the pool which opens straight off the deck. Access to the surrounding forest (with insect repellent) and the feeder path to the Hiking trail ( rather muddy at times) the shop and a couple of bars are walking distance away . The neighbours are friendly and supportive if needed Interaction with GuestsWe usually meet and greet and lead or transport you to the house, make sure you have all you need and remain on call by phone or email. We have a home near to the Ferry so sometimes people stay with us the night before they leave. The NeighborhoodThis is virgin rainforest 400 yards from the main road. The best of both worlds. The PIneapple Crossing nieghbours can be seen through the trees and there is a new block house behind us but they are less intrusive then we dreaded. The car park is shared with Pineapple crossing down the steps. The two houses also share the internet connection. We are also developing our botanical trail, orchid walk and parking area. If you want to help you will have to borrow wellies and wear jeans as the rainforest fights back with insect life and muddy paths, Getting Aroundbuses do run at the end of the lane to Roseau but there is no timetable and hitch hiking is also an option if you are not alone. Best option is to rent a 4X4 . Other Things to NoteWe recommend NOT renting a vehicle at the airport if arriving at night. Have a taxi ( which we can arrange) Too many tourists get lost or breakdown in the dark. The roads are unlit and there are frequent roadworks. We are coping with the new neighbours. We wish we owned the whole forest.....however it is exciting to be planting trees and flowers to attract yet more birds and butterflies.
