The SpaceWe have a colorful space that I would say is Mexican themed. We also have plans to it more international and sustainable. My hope is each guest will help make the house more green and sustainable, so if you have any experience with that we would love the assistance. Also we open to you adding your creative talents to our house in whatever way possible; adding your personal touch. We have had previous guests draw, paint, murals, build shelves, raised beds, plant fruit trees, help build the compost and the list goes on...... We are always up for trying new food!!! :) It is not uncommon for community dinners at our place. The NeighborhoodLots of sunshine and countless outdoor activities. With an average temperature of 73.7 degrees and 361 days a year of recorded sunshine, it’s no wonder St. Petersburg’s moniker is the Sunshine City Immaculate unspoiled beaches on the Gulf of Mexico, are a short drive away from the house, including two of the top ten rated beaches in America (Fort De Soto Park and Sand Key parks). There are no buildings or man-made constructions spoiling the surroundings. Just you, the birds, dolphins, warm water, and soft powdery sand tickling your feet. Once you try it, you will never go back to other beaches on the eastern seaboard around the Miami area. St. Petersburg is the cultural hub of central Florida. With five museums (including The Dali Museum which houses the largest collection of Salvador Dali’ s works outside of his native Spain) the Chihuly Collection, scores of galleries and an active performing arts community. Getting AroundIn the evening, you can head downtown St Pete (15 minutes by bike or 5 minutes by car) where you will find a wide variety of shops, boutiques, outstanding restaurants and bars facing the marina on Bay Walk. Far from being a lackluster retirement community, downtown St Pete is brimming with concerts, festivals, sports events (such as the Firestone Grand Prix), outdoor farmers markets There is simply always something going on. Day trips: You can plan day-trips to countless locations: Tampa and its famous zoo, aquarium and amusement park (Busch Garden) are all just half an hour away. A little farther out, DisneyWorld, Universal Studio and everything else Orlando has to offer can be reached in under an hour and a half from the house. Other Things to NoteWe enjoy the family friendly neighborhood 2 blocks away from multi million houses facing Tampa Bay. We love our scenic rides along the bay to downtown St Petersburg observing the pelicans' plunges with big splash, the dolphins swimming close by or the fishermen throwing their nets. We also take advantage of downtown's St Petersburg's thriving lifestyle!

The tree lined streets, and the lovely historic homes, are all in walking distance to downtown and the shores of Tampa Bay. There are 4 national act music venues within a 2 mile radius. Parks galore, museums, galleries, sidewalk cafes and plenty of pubs, clubs and restaurants. Downtown St. Pete has it all, and the pristine Gulf beaches are only a 20 minute car or trolley ride. The New York Times says, "This quiet residential neighborhood stuffed with old houses is the opposite of the happening downtown scene, which might just be its appeal. Those discovering this area, largely through word of mouth, say they love its sense of community while relishing the easy access to downtown. With its eclectic architecture, brick streets, and lush foliage, the neighborhood offers an odd blend of lovely historic homes and tropical sensibility. Despite its residential nature, it is just north of St. Petersburg’s downtown, making it convenient to the city’s booming cultural and entertainment scene.” This is the most desirable neighborhood in St. Pete. Most recently ranked # 49 in the The New York Times “52 Places to Go in 2014” in the world. Getting AroundPrivate parking and 2 Bikes, or take the trolley for 50 cents. The SpaceThe house key is in a lockbox in front. (Please put it back there when checking out.) Whole house pretty much for price of a room. WIFI is included. Your bedroom is nearest the kitchen. It has a private bath and stocked linen closet. I reserve the right to come and go but I don't really live there. I will always let you know in advance. There is a fire pit, a grill, and an eclectic collection of books, records, tapes, CD's, games, art, various musical instruments, and band equipment if you can figure it out. An antique shortwave radio surfs your father's "internet". Gorgeous music from Cuba comes in on it (and the piano was just tuned!). A globe shows where things you may hear are coming from. Guest AccessHouse common areas, kitchen, yard. West bedroom and bath near kitchen. East bedrooms (on left opposite the kitchen) are my private areas. There are two conventional single beds. Commode has Bidet-Mate attachment. Plenty of parking space in front and in back. Interaction with GuestsIt is not my primary residence so you will have a lot of privacy. You might not even see me at all. I will always let you know in advance. I come down for weekly band nights (Tuesday) and other activities in town and may stay in another bedroom with its own separate bathroom. Again, I will let you know in advance. I am trying to improve my Spanish and would be happy to show you around (no charge). I am very much a laid-back, cutoffs-and-barefoot kind of person and generally have a project or repair in progress at any given time indoors or out. I prefer guests who are completely at ease with this. Only one guest is booked at a time but can be back-to-back in season. I try to get down right before next one but please understand if I get delayed. I will let you know before you book. I can be more flexible with check in/out if we discuss in advance. The NeighborhoodIf people of color scare you then please consider the beaches or north St. Pete. This is a mixed, working-class area with legitimately occupied conventional homes built in the 50's. People are from all over and resident owners across the street and behind my property are among the sweetest, most unpretentious people I have met. Local soul food is out of this world. Chattaways has live music but takes cash only. Library, rec center, park, and tennis club nearby. Supermarket several blocks west on 18th Av S. 24-hour market 8 blocks west. Not far from beaches, colleges, and downtown nightlife. Getting AroundGood bus service (PSTA) on 9th St. (Martin Luther King) and 4th St. Airport limo is about $35. Uber is available. The nearest supermarket is Walmart 14 blocks west on 18th Av S. Other Things to NoteDumpster is just outside of the back gate. Twist bulb to turn on light outside gate. Lock is accessible from either side. Push or pull it through the holes. Gates open inward. Lock combinations inside on back door. Sink in polebarn drains into grass. Please don' t pour nasty things down it. The X10 sensor at the front door which can control lights/chimes is sometimes triggered by other things. A couple of timers operate lamps to give a "lived in" appearance at all times. The refrigerator makes a knocking sound when the icemaker functions. Outside speaker is to hear TV.

The SpaceNestled in a beautiful neighborhood of St. Petersburg, this large guest room, in a private home with its own bath and seating area, is one block from the third largest waterfront park system in North America where bike and walking trails surround the Bay. There is no other neighborhood like this one, featured in "This Old House" as one of the top ten historic bungalow neighborhoods in the USA. We are a short walk to restaurants, museums, galleries, clubs and more. Saint Petersburg has been voted the #1 medium sized art town in the US three years in a row. It is home to the Dali Museum, the Chihuly Art Glass Museum, the Holocaust Museum and a Museum of Fine Arts. Don't miss the wonderful Saturday Morning Market in St. Pete with great food, local organic produce, art and craft vendors and live music. (Labor Day thru Memorial Day, 9:00-2:00) You can walk there right along the bay! Summer (URL HIDDEN) a shady park a few blocks away. Suitable for one person or a couple. Guests are welcome to share the whole house. This sweet bungalow has front and back porches for outdoor living and easy free parking. We have two kayaks and two bicycles available for your use. Traveling with a little one? We have a pack & play for your use and thick comfy sleeping bags if you need them. Juice boxes are in the fridge! A gourmet, full breakfast is available on Sunday, continental on Saturday and weekdays. Special occasion? Talk to me about catering and having guests. We are located 30 minutes from the Tampa Airport, and close to Busch Gardens, Ybor City and International Mall. Take a day trip to Disney World, Sea World or Universal Studios, just 90 minutes away. There is a large public pool and and a public "Bay" beach just three blocks away. Gulf Beaches are a short 15 minute drive or dedicated trolley ride away. These are some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. We have two, well behaved cocker spaniels that love company. We would consider a medium to small dog as a guest. Note: The bed is a full size, not a queen. If you require one, we have a good quality queen air mattress but a queen is only 6 inches wider and 5 inches longer than a full size. Note: When you inquire, could you please help me get to know you by describing yourself and your trip? Thank you. Guest AccessAccess to the whole home and grounds with the exclusion of the second floor master suite. Interaction with GuestsWe are at home when you visit and welcome conversation and pleasant exchanges. Your privacy is important to us and your room is secluded enough to offer you as much privacy as you need. The NeighborhoodThe New York Times says, "This quiet residential neighborhood stuffed with old houses is the opposite of the happening downtown scene, which might just be its appeal. Those discovering this area, largely through word of mouth, say they love its sense of community while relishing the easy access to downtown. With its eclectic architecture, brick streets, picket fences and lush foliage, the neighborhood offers an odd blend of New England style and tropical sensibility. Despite its residential nature, it is just north of St. Petersburg’s downtown, making it convenient to the city’s booming cultural and entertainment scene. It also offers easy access for out-of-towners, since it is just 20 minutes from Tampa International Airport." Getting AroundThis is a very walkable location and we have bikes available as well. There is a local bus system and a downtown trolley that goes to the large Gulf beaches and the major shopping areas downtown and along Central Avenue. There are reasonably priced taxis and Uber drivers. Other Things to NoteNew! PLEASE NOTE: There is a 6% sales tax and a 6% tourist tax that Pinellas County requires me to collect. This tax equals 10.00 per day. I will collect it at the time of arrival. If I add it to the price within airbnb, you would have to pay service fees on a tax and that would not be fair to anyone. I am hoping airbnb will add a sales tax feature to their website so this can be handled automatically in the future.

The SpaceThis is a comfortable guest house located in the charming Old Northeast neighborhood. You will enter the newly-renovated 1920's cottage through a shared, gated courtyard. The courtyard is a tropical outdoor living space with a beautiful sectional sofa and table / chairs for outdoor dining. As you enter the cottage through the french doors you will notice it is a cozy, clean and fresh space decorated in traditional 1920's styling with wood floors, subway tile and stained glass. The first floor has a fully-furnished living area complete with a kitchenette and full bathroom. The upstairs loft includes a queen bed and a twin bed for additional guests or a quiet space to read a book. This space was built in 1920 for the original owner's Model-T Ford. As such, the cottage is a compact space, but well-planned for a comfortable stay. Both floors are approximately 220 square feet. The stairs to the loft bedroom are narrow and the ceiling is low in a portion of the upstairs loft. The kitchenette is fully equipped with a Keurig coffee maker, bottles of water, soda, starbucks coffee, microwave oven, refrigerator, blender, toaster, dishes, glasses, cutlery, corkscrew, can opener, paper towels, dishtowels and dish soap. The bathroom is crisp and clean with hotel amenities including luxury linens, a hair dryer and bath products. An additional vanity area is located in the upstairs loft bedroom with a makeup mirror and electrical outlets. Also provided are extra linens, towels, beach towels, beach chairs, beach bags, coolers, hair dryer and dvd player. Interaction with GuestsI am at home when you visit and welcome conversation and any questions you may have for exploring the area. The NeighborhoodThe New York Times says, "The Old Northeast neighborhood is just north of St. Petersburg's downtown, making it walking-distance to the city's booming cultural and entertainment scene." This home is located in the perfect place to really enjoy the city. Walk to downtown, the Vinoy Renaissance Hotel (which hosts outdoor events almost every weekend), Beach Drive, the marina, waterfront parks, bars, clubs, restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, art galleries, Sundial Plaza, Muvico 20, community swimming pool and tennis courts. Also visit the vintage markets and antique shops throughout downtown for the most fantastic finds. The cottage is also within a few blocks / miles from Publix, Winn-Dixie, Rolling Oats, Fresh Market, CVS and Walgreens. Getting AroundThe cottage is walking or biking distance from everything. The SpaceI am offering a bedroom with a comfortable bed in my 2 bedroom apartment with internet access. I don't have cable but I have Amazon fire TV with Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime, Netflix, HBO GO, Showtime etc. There is a small television in the room. Close to downtown, beaches, restaurants and interstate. Great re-gentrified neighborhood on the edge of downtown, 3 blocks from buses, and very close to the interstate. Beaches are 15 to 20 minutes away. There are some nice bars, restaurants, an amazing vintage store, cafes and an awesome used bookstore within a few blocks. The room includes a very comfortable queen size bed, dresser and a small closet. The kitchen is large and you are welcome to use it if you decided. There is only one bathroom so we will have to share. I am pretty easy going, friendly and I get along with most every one. I am a full time student, I do a lot of homework, so ideally I am looking for someone who doesn't bring the party home. I do have a small dog but he is super quiet and sweet. Guest AccessEverything except my bedroom Interaction with GuestsI am generally busy with school and work. I gauge my interaction based on my schedule and what works for my guest(s). The NeighborhoodGrand Central District is located just West of Downtown from 16th St to 31st St. It is a thriving source of culture, home to a myriad of galleries & studios like Craftsman House, antique stores, restaurants, unique shops and Haslam's Book Store, Florida's largest new & used book store. It is a designated “Main Street Community." This charming district hosts many events and festivals throughout the year and is surrounded by historic neighborhoods giving it the feel of home. This is a charming old neighborhood, therefore it doesn't offer an upscale experience. It's the kind of place where can walk down the street for a cup of coffee or visit one of the many micro brewery's in the area. Getting AroundSt Petersburg is a pedestrian-friendly experience. Stroll through beautiful waterfront parks, along sidewalks lined with historic architecture or visit shops, galleries & other captivating attractions in the Downtown area. There are a number of options for getting around Downtown, including the Downtown Looper Trolley, the Central Avenue Trolley and other routes provided by the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA). Parking in Downtown St Petersburg has never been more plentiful with over 25,000 spaces to accomodate motorists. The St Petersburg Trolley - Downtown Looper route is an easy way to get around Downtown. Look for the bright red and yellow trolleys, hop aboard for just 50¢ and connect to all the city's major museums and attractions. As you ride, enjoy a narration of Downtown's highlights including the Renaissance Vinoy, Parkshore Grill, the Museum of Fine Arts, Sundial and more! The Downtown Looper operates 10am to 5pm daily, with service until midnight on Friday & Saturday nights. Daily service is between the hours of 10am and 5pm, every 15 mins. The last 30 minute trip leaves the Beach Drive Parking Trolley Station at 4:30pm. Fri & Sat evening service is from 5pm-Midnight, every 20 mins. The last 20 min trip leaves at 11:40pm. Times are scheduled buy may vary due to traffic conditions, weather or unforseen events. Times are approximate minutes past the hour. The Downtown Looper Trolley does not operate on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. FREE FARE ZONE - Park once and ride the Looper! Ride FREE when you get-on and get-off anywhere in the Free Fare Zone. Anywhere outside the Free Fare Zone is still only 50¢. Click here for more information. Central Avenue Trolley - serves from the the pier approach's Beach Drive Parking and Pelican Parking lots all the way to Pass-a-Grille. The Central Avenue Trolley also features a new multi-zone fare system that offers free transport between the Beach Drive Parking & Pelican Parking lots and Sundial. Rides between Sundial and PSTA's Grand Central Station will cost only 50¢ and normal PSTA fares will apply between Grand Central Station and Pass-a-Grille. Other Things to NoteI keep my prices reasonably low to make travel more affordable for like minded travelers. Therefore, this is not a hotel experience. I travel alot myself so I do my best to make my space comfortable. I don't offer to many frills but my intention is to provide a home away from home.

The SpaceMy art-filled North St Petersburg home, furnished with vintage mid century modern finds, is in a luxuriant tropical garden setting. It's conveniently located near downtown and within a few minutes of Tampa Bay and the North Beach outdoor swimming pool and it is a 15 to 20 minute drive to the Gulf Beaches. The Sunken Gardens, Tropicana Sports Field and several museums are nearby, including the new Salvador Dali Museum. It is also within walking distance of a small shopping center with a popular sushi restaurant, a Mexican restaurant, a convenience store and the bus stop. The freeway entrance is a few blocks away (but not so close as to be disturbed by freeway traffic). There are two parks within walking distance--Crescent Lake and Booker Creek--and there are several nature parks within a few miles including Boyd Hill Nature Park and Sawgrass Lake. My 1,100’ house is an open plan with a light-filled great room (living room, dining room, kitchen and office) with hardwood floors in the living room area and the bedrooms and tiles everywhere else. French doors lead onto a huge wooden deck and a small, exotic garden beyond. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and was completely renovated a few years ago. It has central air conditioning, high speed internet connection and a separate air conditioned studio with washer and dryer. There is plenty of parking on the street as well as off-street parking. NOTE: The entire house is available to rent when I am out-of-town (I do charge a premium for the entire house). I'll be out-of-town for the month of December, so the entire house will be available December 3 to Decemb(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). When I am home the bright and sunny guest bedroom (just over 11 by 14 feet), with a new bed, new mattress and bed sheets plus a foam mattress that conforms to one's body shape and a new, private bathroom en suite, is available. I try to maintain a green household: there are water barrels to collect rainwater in the garden, and I reduce, reuse and recycle whenever possible. I encourage my guests to do the same. Guest AccessWhen I am out-of-town on trips my guests have access to the entire house and deck although my art studio is off limits except to access the washer and dryer located there. When I am home guests have access to the great room (which includes living room and kitchen for light cooking) and the expansive deck. Interaction with GuestsI come and go a lot. But occasionally, when I'm home, I enjoy sharing a meal with my guests in the kitchen/dining room or, in cooler weather, on the back deck. I've taken a few guests to yoga classes and social events with me and to the beach for a swim or stroll. The NeighborhoodI love the convenience of my neighborhood--it's close to so many amenities, including two restaurants, a dollar store, a deli, and two parks. All are within walking distance. It's a working class neighborhood, not at all gentrified, but it's quiet and my neighbors are friendly. Getting AroundThere's a bus stop on the corner and buses run regularly throughout the day (but not at night). Guests are welcome to borrow my bicycle. The freeway entrance is a few blocks from my house and North Beach and public swimming pool are a short drive away, as are the local health food store, Trader Joe's and a great Italian deli. Other Things to NoteSt Pete is becoming an art destination! It's not just about beautiful beaches (although we have plenty of those as well). There are many museums and galleries to visit both here and in Tampa and Sarasota. During Florida's season, December 1 through April 30, only the daily and weekly rates apply. The rest of the year the monthly rate is available.
