The SpaceI am an avid collector of many things and love to display those unique collections in my home. In spite of its "do not touch" look, you are welcome to do so, ask questions, put your feet up and relax! You will find my neighborhood to be very quiet and peaceful. Evening sounds are limited to the occasional chorus of coyotes in the distance and nearby frog lullaby's. Guest AccessYou will have full access to the guest bathroom, living room, and dining areas. Kitchen use is limited to the coffee maker, toaster, microwave and refrigerator. There is covered front porch with seating and large back patio available during the summer and fall months. Interaction with GuestsI am always happy to engage with guests during their stay and answer any questions you might have. I tend to be home more during the weeknight evenings and on the weekends. I love to cook and may invite you to join me if I happen to prepare any meals during your visit. The SpaceThis home is great place for those who like to walk, or have a stay in a beautiful historic town. It's my personal home so it has a more "lived in" feel compared to a hotel. Depending on my own travel plans, I may offer a private room in my house with shared space (current rate), or a rental of the house itself as an entirely private space (at a higher rate). Guest AccessLiving room, dining room and kitchen. Gas grill. Bicycle and double kayak may also be available upon request. Wireless internet is available, cable TV is currently in a box waiting to get hooked up! Interaction with GuestsDepending on the weekend, I may not meet you at all, or I may stay in my camper trailer parked on the property and potentially be out working in the yard. The NeighborhoodSteilacoom has 4 local restaurants and two coffee shops within an easy walk. And a grocery store and taproom within two blocks are coming soon! There is an interesting museum with several buildings. The ferry is also close by. Farther afield (in DuPont) is an adorable old-fashioned general store with modern conveniences, Thai food, Mexican and a hike along a creek to the ocean. There are also waterfront parks to visit. Getting AroundBuses are available and a ferry. It's an easy drive to Fred Meyers, Trader Joes and grocery store and Walgreens. (Take either Steilacoom Blvd or Lafayette street to Chamber's Bay) Other Things to NoteSteilacoom is a beautiful town, and this house is in the heart of the historic district. For dog owners pls ensure your dog's nails are clipped. There is a wonderful dog park down the road at Fort Steilacoom. There is parking on the front driveway for at least one vehicle.
