The 2200 sq. ft. house sits near the knees of the Sapphire Mountain range, with splendid views the towering Bitterroots and the gentler Sapphires. It’s spacious and welcoming, with two bedrooms on the main floor and a master suite on a second floor, in a separate wing. A loft off of the dining room works beautifully as an office or extra bedroom (futon).
The fully-equipped kitchen opens onto the living/dining room and is flanked by a stunning floor to ceiling river-rock fireplace.
The 800 sq. ft wrap-around porch provides a wonderful spot for relaxing, meals, sunset watching, and even animal viewing – be it the neighbors’ horses or the deer, hawks, eagles, and osprey. In the evenings you'll often hear a chorus of coyote in the distance. And of course, the sound of summer sprinklers irrigating the hayfields.
The quaint and historic town of Stevensville (oldest in Montana) is a short 12 minute drive away. It offers shopping, restaurants, medical facilities, a post office and ranger station, a wildlife refuge, a golf course, its own community theatre and two outstanding local breweries! If outdoor recreation is your passion, the famous Bitterroot River and the Bitterroot National Forest are close by, and the area offers plenty of opportunity for first class fishing, hiking, horseback riding, cycling, rafting, hunting, or playing tennis. You’ll also love taking trips to Glacier National Park, Flathead Lake, the Big Hole Valley, many natural hot springs, wildlife preserves, lakes, rivers, caves, and ghost towns.
Whether you're looking for adventure; visiting friends; going to work in Missoula, Hamilton or the Valley; or you're spending quiet, peaceful days around the house, you’ll love coming home to this Bitterroot Valley gem.
