The SpaceWe'd love to share our house at the beach with you! Our family has owned and enjoyed this hillside cottage for 35 years. We have always loved being 'on the hill' because of the lovely feel of the neighborhood and the lush profusion of plants and trees. The location has the best of both worlds, the mountain view on one side and the ocean view on the other. It's removed just enough from the hub bub of the downtown beach scene. One block from the house is the path to the one general grocery store and the village's main drag. One more block and you are on the beach. The layout of the house is nice for a group. The 2 bedrooms are on opposite ends, allowing for privacy. There are several outdoor spots to retreat to: a large covered front porch with a dining table and chairs, a small back porch and a large backyard deck 50 feet from the house. The kitchen, dining room and living room are open-plan with lovely high open beamed ceilings. One bedroom faces the street and the other one the ocean. The loft has a view of the mountains. Both kids and adults find the loft cozy. Each bedroom has a Queen bed and the sleeping loft an extra-long twin.1 bath home sleeps 5 comfortably, no pull-out sofa beds! Views of ocean and Mt. Tamalpais foothills from the spacious front porch, master bedroom and large backyard deck. 3 TV's, cable, DVD player, stereo and wi-fi. Amenities include, washer/dryer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, BBQ. Off and on street parking. Guest AccessThe entire house, except the garage. Interaction with GuestsWe don't live nearby and would call or email you in the event we needed to drop by. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood, locally referred to as "The Hill" has a lovely, peaceful feel to it. Our neighbors are mostly local, full-time residents. The folks are very friendly, so feel free to say Hello! Walks around the neighborhood are particularly nice, revealing interesting homes, from 1920's bungalows to new modern architcture. And the hill is lush with flowers, trees and succulents to boot. The famous Dipsea trailhead is right around the corner and the Matt Davis trail begins a block away. All the trails connect so you can pick your distance. Getting AroundWalking, biking, driving are the modes of transportation around the area. Golden Gate Transit has a bus that takes Other Things to Note* Dear new & returning guests, Due to the recent enforcement enhancement of Marin County's 10% hotel occupancy tax (this applies to vacation rentals as well) we will need to increase nightly/weekly rental rates by 10 percent. Existing reservations will remain at the rate at which they were booked. * During the High Season - May 30- August 31 we are booking Saturday to Saturday stays and there is a 1 week minimum. * The week of Thanksgiving is always a 7 night minimum at Standard Rates.

Ouch. There are two bikes plus locks available for your use on the back deck. Please lock them up when you take them out. There is central heat so you'll be cozy inside any time of the year. I tend to not approve splitting up weekend nights, but if it's important, I'll charge Sunday night at the weekend rate. Guest Access- Beach access right out your front door - Two bicycles and locks - Kitchen amenities, towels, and linens are provided, plus a Breville juicer--in case you'd like to bring your favorite fruits and veggies. - Big rambunctious garden! - Central heat (new furnace and water heater) - Beach toys, beach towels, doggie towels, beach chairs, and sun umbrellas provided Interaction with GuestsThe property is all yours during your reservation. If I need to drop by for some reason I would email or call you first to see if it would be convenient for you. The only time I've done that in the past is to bring items that might be useful to you during your stay. The NeighborhoodIt's right on the beach! The street is one of the close-in streets so it's extremely convenient to either walk along the beach to get into town for a coffee and pastry, or dinner out in the evening, or, walk up into the hills towards the Matt David trail, Steep Ravine, Slide Ranch, etc. The street is also private so your parking is protected and the other homes are privately owned so if you have any problems just let me know and I will contact my neighbors directly. Getting AroundWalking, bicycles, your own car, and strolling along the beach are the best modes of transportation. The SpaceLots of books, decks on three sides, the sound of the ocean and a three minute walk to the beach. This is a classic beach house with pine ceilings, a wood stove and redwood decks. It is on a very large lot with a fresh water creek that flows much of the year. Green grass, willow trees, wild flowers, apple trees. Very special. We are a family with two boys who visit weekends throughout the year. We rent the house as-is with our furniture, art and antiques. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and dining and there are enough chairs for larger groups up to 16. Guest AccessSpa, wi-fi, dvd movies, private open space outdoors Interaction with GuestsGenerally, the house is rented as a whole. Occasionally, the owner stays on the other side of the creek in a cabin or Airstream trailer there. The NeighborhoodShort walk or bike ride to town. Three restaurants, a market, library in one direction. In the other is Bolinas Lagoon, a pristine estuary with a great variety of birds, seals and scenery. Getting AroundThe West Marin stage coach runs four to six times a day to Marin City and Sausalito. There you can catch Golden Gate Transit to SF. There is a place to rent bikes, paddle boards, kayaks, wetsuits and surfboards across the way. Other Things to NoteWe have rented the house to other families since 2007, usually through V R B O. That is a good place to see more photos and contact the owner directly.

Four bedrooms and three baths including one kids room is the perfect place to relax, recharge by yourself or with the family. Our house is completely renovated on a quiet beach side patio. Inside, you'll find all the comforts of home, including the fastest internet access we could get in Stinson Beach (sorry, it's not that fast, about 6mb, but just enough for streaming HD). The kitchen was equipped by a Cordon-Bleu trained chef and all the furnishing are up to date. We're committed to keeping our carbon footprint small. Every bulb in the house is either CFL or LED. Power is primarily provided by solar panels on the roof. Guest AccessThe whole house. And the beach. Interaction with GuestsWe like to leave you in peace. The NeighborhoodWonderful neighborhood full of fantastic neighbors who are really friendly and used to a certain number of renters as this is a beach community. The SpaceBased on feedback from Airbnb guests, in September 2016 I replaced the washer and dryer, bought all new kitchenware including, pots, pans and plates, and bought new organic linens for every bedroom and bathroom. No expense was spared. This home was remodeled in September 2014. It is a perfect space to get away with extended family or small groups and includes all the amenities that families with children need. The location of this property is vastly superior to Sea Drift, as this property is in town and therefore part of the community. Both the beach and the town are only a 1 minute walk. Guests have access to the entire home and property. I generally allow the guests to dictate the level of interaction that best suits them. I love this neighborhood for two reasons. First this home is right at the beach, and second the house is literally 300 feet from downtown. The town is tiny yet the amenities are plentiful ranging from a surf shop, coffee shop, grocery store, art gallery, boutiques, antique stores, restaurants and gift shops. Being close to downtown does not create any noise or traffic, it is just wonderful to be able to stroll to lunch or dinner and not have to get into the car. There are many public transportation busses each day that travel to Stinson Beach. Once at this home, there is no need for a car, as everything is within walking distance. The SpaceThe Cottage is the 4th house from the beach, on it's own separate lot. A 5 minute walk to town. The Cottage consists of a charming bedroom with an exquisitely comfortable queen size bed, TV, radio, Wi-fi, sitting area, armoire, and closets. The living area -- sofa, chair, dining area, kitchen area with coffee maker, toaster oven, toaster, microwave oven, 2 burner stove top, refrigerator/freezer, pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, and some condiments. PLEASE REFER TO THE PHOTOS AND NOTE THAT THE REFRIGERATOR IS VERY SMALL. The bathroom is newly built, with Italian glass tile floor, shower over tub, all new fixtures, hair dryer. Everything is new, fresh, and clean. The front yard is great for sitting in the sun, enjoying a meal from the out door grill, and sitting under the stars, by the bon fire at night No pets. No smoking. No children (do not ask if they can sleep on an air mattress on the floor, or in the bed w/ you). ONE CAR ONLY. No overnight guests. Check-in anytime after 3:00 p.m. Check-out: Noon Guest AccessThe Cottage sits on it's own lot. You will have your own private entrance. You will have your own designated parking space right in front of The Cottage. (ONE CAR ONLY -due to a huge demand for parking, especially in the Summer months.) Interaction with GuestsYou will have all the privacy in the world, but if you should need us for any reason, we are right next door on the adjacent property. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood borders the Golden Gate National Recreation Area with access to all of the beautifully maintained hiking and biking trails. The town is a 5 minute walk from the cottage, with 3 restaurants, a great take-out deli, book store, shops, Post Office, surf shop, veterinary office, art gallery, library, and a lovely grocery store. The best part about our neighborhood is that it is THE BEACH ! Getting AroundStinson Beach is a quaint, small town, a one--two hour drive from San Francisco and /or Oakland airports. Traveling North from here one can visit Point Reyes (National Seashore), and further on to Mendocino County and the wine country. We have the most beautiful hiking trails, resplendent with bridges, creeks, waterfalls, etc.. The town is a 5 minute walk from the cottage. The 3 mile long beach is one of the most beautiful in all of Northern California. One does not need a vehicle to get around Stinson Beach if your aim is to come to the beach and stay at the beach. There is a limited transit system accessing San Francisco and areas beyond if one wanted to venture out. What people seem to love most about being here is how easy it is to NOT get in a car. There is an Airporter/Bus that leaves the San Francisco Airport every 1/2 hour and drops off in Mill Valley, 30 minutes from Stinson Beach. Renting a car at the airport would be the simplest and easiest way of getting here from any of the airports. One parking space is available for guests, just in front of the cottage. Other "day parking" is available for day guests in the adjacent Public Parking lot. Other Things to NoteBefore you read further- please know how much we appreciate any time a family would like to come to the beach. However THIS PARTICULAR COTTAGE is for 1 or 2 adults only. NO CHILDREN, NO PETS. It is small, sweet, and cozy. Please do not ask if a child can join you, even if they sleep in the bed with you, or on the floor on an air mattress. Please do not ask if you can bring your dog, or any pet. We LOVE animals--just not in The Cottage. So please, save yourself the asking: NO PETS. NO CHILDREN. There are many many wonderful rentals that are able to accommodate such a request. This Cottage is not for everyone. It is not a party destination. It is for the person who wants to come out and have a quiet, relaxing time while in The Cottage, at the beach. Weather can be fickle; days can be foggy and nights cool. Bring a warm jacket. Also: we have a "Wellness Center" in town where one can book massages, or make appts. for body work by a licensed practitioner. Stinson Beach and Bolinas (the adjacent town) is a favorite spot amongst surfers. Surfing, boogie boarding, kite surfing, hand gliding, kayaking, Yoga classes, fitness classes, etc., are all available. Bicycles and kayaks are easily rented. There are many opportunities and options to turn your time here into anything you can imagine; a spa week? boot camp? de-tox? meditation retreat? Or--just come to get away-- and relax. There is very little you need to pack as far as your travel kit goes. We supply: hair dryer, q-tips, cotton balls, emery boards, feminine hygiene supplies, disposable razor, tooth brush and toothpaste, mouth wash, first aide kit, EO: shampoo; hair conditioner; shower gel; body lotion, and cozy, cushy Restoration Hardware Bathrobes.

The SpaceSpectacular mountain and ocean views. You hear the sound of birds and waves. Dark night skies allow you to enjoy the stars. You hear animal sounds in the night. You have peace and quiet and fresh air. All with in a cosy, clean, private and safe cabin! Interaction with GuestsI live in the main house but when the cabin is occupied I do not go to the back of the property where the cabin is located. I respect peoples privacy. I think when folks come to my cabin they are looking for a get away, they want less interaction, less noise, less traffic, more nature. The NeighborhoodThe cabin is in an area known as the Highlands. Because we buffer open space all the lots are 1/2 acer, with world class views. There are three restaurant all within walking distance, I suggest you walk to each one and check out the menus and specials to see what calls to you. It has been moderately remodeled, repainted, and includes a gas fireplace with fan, a newer stove and refrigerator, a fully stocked kitchen with a microwave and programmable coffeemaker, coffee grinder, toaster, pans, utensils, blender, etc., an old, classic farmhouse drop leaf table and 4 chairs, a futon sofa that can be converted to a bed and a chaise lounge, leather reading chair/ottoman and up/down window shades so you can sit and watch the ocean, sunsets, Shoreline/Hwy 1, and the Bolinas coast. There is great Wi-Fi that carries into the bedroom and out onto the deck. The bedroom has a new Posturepedic queen mattress on a platform frame ("very comfortable!"). There is a very large armoire closet to hang your clothes and/or store suitcases and space under the raised sofa. There is also a shelf and clothes rod that run the full length of the bedroom. We provide nice bed linens, , thick towels, beach chairs and beach towels, and some games and books. There is a landline phone and a TV that you can use to play DVD's, we have a library of about 40, (sorry, no cable, but you wanted to get away from it all anyway, didn't you?), or use your computer, a Bose stereo/CD/radio (bring your CD's, I have about 12). In town, there is a classic small market with a coffee kiosk, library, gym, bookstore, lots of shopping, art galleries, florist, quaint post office, health and wellness center for massages and chiropractic, a park, a church, a community center (walk to the wedding!) and 3+ restaurants; a couple with live music, kayak rentals. Stinson is the classic small town but without a gas station (fill up before you come!). The Audubon Society has a bird sanctuary down the road where you can watch egrets nest in June and July. Several hiking trails start in Stinson and the notorious Dipsea foot race from Mill Valley ends here. Bolinas Lagoon Bird Reserve does not disappoint. Explanation of your quote: Flipkey directs the owner to combine booking fees into the room rates, which has NOT been done. You will see a price hike when TripAdvisor adds in their fees to my room rate, although out-of-pocket will be the same. Additional charge if you want bedding and towels changed TWICE during stay of less than 1 week. Additional fees, e.g., extra cleaning charge for cottage left EXCEPTIONALLY messy/dirty, MAY apply: Buena Vista Ave. has the best location in Stinson--close enough to everything but far enough away that it is relaxing. Parking is on the street (parking deck will be replaced sometime) but is relatively easy before 11am and after 4pm. During weekends with good weather, it's also manageable if you get here by 11 am or don't "go over the hill" until after 4 PM. I provide a shortcut around most traffic. A car is an essential to get to Stinson, but once here it can easily just stay parked.. There is a bus, the West Marin Stagecoach (Golden Gate Transit), that goes to Bolinas and Pt. Reyes Station and also back to Mill Valley, but the schedule is very slim. If you like to hike, it has many stops along the way at trail heads, several of which start/end in Stinson, so you don't need to drive. Bolinas Lagoon is a bird reserve and has plentiful species. The best is moon rise, clear starry nights, and sunsets!

The SpaceThis 1920's 1 bedroom hillside cottage (2 blocks from the ocean) has an ocean view deck, BBQ, patio dining furniture, umbrellas, and chaise lounges with new cushions. This classic home has original redwood floors, open beam rooms and a homey feel. It has been moderately remodeled, repainted, and includes a gas fireplace with blower fan, a newer stove and refrigerator, a fully stocked kitchen with a microwave and programmable coffeemaker, coffee grinder, blender, etc., great Wi-Fi, ((watch DVDs (40+ here), or movies from your computer)), an old, classic farmhouse drop leaf table and chairs by one of the large front windows, a 5 1/2" thick futon sofa that can be made into a chaise lounge or bed, leather reading chair/ottoman and top-down window shades so you can sit and watch the ocean, sunsets, the main drag, the Bolinas coast, and lots of hummingbirds. The bedroom has a Posturpedic queen mattress on a platform frame ('very comfortable!') and reading lights. There is a very large armoire closet to hang your clothes and/or store suitcases and storage under the raised sofa. There is also a shelf and clothes rod that run the full length of the bedroom. We provide very nice linens & towels, iron and ironing board, beach chairs, umbrella, and beach towels, and some games and books. There is soap/shampoo and a hairdryer. We have a landline long distance phone, a Bose stereo/radio/CD player (bring your favorite CD's). Guest AccessI will send you access instructions a couple of weeks before you arrive. There is a large lawn that gives open space, but it is over the septic system, so it's off limits to walk there. Interaction with GuestsI live in Stinson so I can help guests who text or phone. I do have a person out there who can help with problems, as well. IMPORTANT: Read 'Other Things to Note" The NeighborhoodBuena Vista Ave. has great views of the ocean and mountains behind, has newer and older homes, lots of trees. The cottage is down on the hillside, so no road noise. Walk everywhere! In town, here is a classic general store, library, gym, bookstore, art galleries, florist, quaint post office, health and wellness center for massages and chiropractic, a medical center, a park, a non-denominational church, a community center (walk to the wedding!) and 4+ restaurants; a couple with live music. Stinson is the classic small town and without a gas station. The Audubon Society has a bird sanctuary down the road where you can watch egrets nest in June and July. Several hiking and biking trails start near the cottage and the notorious Dipsea foot race from Mill Valley ends here. Getting AroundGolden Gate Transit runs buses called "The Stagecoach" from Marin City Sopping Center to, I believe, Pt. Reyes Station. The views from it are great, the schedule is pretty bare. It does go by some pretty awesome trail heads that come down to Stinson. Get off The Stage and hike down, or hike and take the Stage back. Other Things to NoteIMPORTANT NOTE: Marin County charges a 10% HOTEL TAX, which will be ADDED ON to be paid to me when you arrive. AirBnB makes no accommodation for this tax on their quote. It is NOT in their fees. This is a straight pass-through to the Marin County Tax Collector and I retain nothing.

The SpaceThe Castle House has two bedrooms (with queen-size beds) and two baths. The bedrooms have views of the beach and the ocean and are located at the front and rear of the house. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a large deck and a large covered porch with outdoor furniture. It is a comfortable, well kept and very nicely furnished home. The living room has a turret (as in a castle!) with a circular sofa and embraces the complete view of the beach and ocean from the north end of Stinson-Bolinas to the southern tip. There is parking for two cars. Guest AccessOvernight guests (5 max) have access to the full house except the house storage room. Day guests are welcome only when they are included in the email agreement and they are limited to 3 or 4 maximum. A small dog is also welcome with a fee of $60 and a $200 refundable security deposit. Interaction with GuestsI am available by cell phone and live 40 min. away in Mill Valley. The NeighborhoodThe house is located on a quiet street maintained by the property owners. The Village with grocery store and restaurants is a 5 min walk away. Other Things to NoteThe Castle House is built completely on the beach, consequently we don't have a traditional septic system. Instead, all the water used goes into a holding tank. Once it is full, I'll call the service to come by the property and empty it. As a guest, you'll have to let me know when the alarm goes off letting you know that the tank has reached 90% capacity.

Interaction with GuestsWe The Lanigan Family (owners) live in town and are available for any emergencies. Phone numbers available in the house manual. The best part about our neighborhood is that it is the beach! Two parking space is available for guests, just in front of the small entrance gate. Other Things to NoteThe weather is fickle, be sure to bring layers to go from hot to cold.
