The Studio faces the delightful, flower-filled, garden and there is secure, off-road parking. The bathroom has a shower over the bathtub. There is a fully equiped kitchen but a breakfast of your choice can be provided if preferred. Although the Studio benefits from the peace and quiet of this rural setting, there are a host of interesting places to visit in the area including Highclere Castle (the setting for Downton Abbey), the cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester, the prehistoric sights at Stonehenge and Avebury, to name but a few. There are also numerous walks in the pretty countryside only a few steps away from your cosy home-from-home. Guest AccessThe Studio is self-contained and you are free to come and go as you choose. Guests are free to make use of the spacious garden for rest and relaxation. Interaction with GuestsGuests will have as much privacy as they wish but I am on hand to offer any advice about the local area and can provide breakfast by arrangement should that be required. The NeighborhoodThe property is in a peaceful rural location but there are plenty of interesting places to visit within a 20 mile radius as well as lovely country walks. The kitchen is a bright and open space ideal for entertaining and fun! SITTING ROOM Dominated by a large L-shaped sofa this a place for you all to relax with a DVD or TV projected onto the wall. SECOND FLOOR Ladder stairs go up to a single bedroom and ensuite bathroom. This bedroom is in the eaves and has less head height. Our daughter's Banksy paintings and photos make this room full of character and it's quiet and away from the action with a very comfortable single bed. The bathroom has a freestanding bath, basin and loo and is accessed under or over a beam! OUTSIDE To the front of the house is a pretty walled formal garden which gets lots of sun in the afternoon. At one end is The Little House, a converted 2 bedroom barn which may also be available for rent. The Bourne River runs alongside the road with a footbridge and car bridge giving access to the house and parking area. The Bourne is a really pretty little river which usually flows from February to July. To the back of the house is a terrace and lawned garden leading onto a small field with a trampoline and football goal. There is a footpath through the field with direct access to beautiful walks. The views from the kitchen and garden are lovely with barely a house in site despite being in the middle of a village. The village itself is small and friendly with a pub behind and both neighbouring villages have village shops and post offices with lots of local pubs dotted along the valley. There are also several Michelin starred restaurants a short (25 minute) drive away. The White House is situated in the pretty Bourne Valley hamlet of Stoke, in rural North Hampshire. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside and walks yet is within 20 minutes of the M4, M3, the historical sites of Stonehenge, Avebury Rings, Danebury Rings, and cities and towns such as Winchester, Marlborough, Hungerford and Newbury. For dog lovers and walkers there are many trails and footpaths in close proximity such as the Test Way and Watership Down. The area is also a cyclists paradise. For children, TreeRunners is 10 minutes away as is Finkley Down Farm; Intech Science Museum in Winchester is 20 minutes away, and half an hour away in Basingstoke there is the Aquadrome, bowling, cinemas and Airkix, the indoor skydiving tunnel. Guest AccessThe house, garden and adjoining field. There is a trampoline and football goal in the field and table football on the terrace. Hurdles, badminton and croquet are also available and please do ask if you need something in particular as we will probably have it. Interaction with GuestsWe will usually be based in the Little House when you are staying though are unlikely to see you except when you arrive and leave. We are always at the end of a phone for any queries. The NeighborhoodWe live in a small friendly village with links to the two surrounding villages where there are churches and village shops. Being in a valley, there are beautiful walks up to the ridges with amazing views. It is a quiet peaceful village with no street lights and very little noise. Getting AroundThere is an irregular local Cango bus or local taxis. The nearest stations are Whitchurch and Andover which go to Waterloo in just over an hour, and Newbury station (Paddington) is 15/20 minutes away. Other Things to NoteWe have good broadband with Cat 6 wiring, and reasonable WiFi for the age and location of house. Mobile network is patchy. We have Vodafone and have to go out to the field to get it! Other networks may be better. All bed linen, towels, loo paper and kitchen washing up stuff included.

The SpaceThis is a wonderful, airy space with soaring ceilings. It was converted in 2009 so the fittings - the kitchen, bathrooms and so on - are super-modern but the house is full of character with exposed beams and a curved oak staircase. Please note though, the furniture (sofa and kitchen table/ chairs) is now slightly different from the first picture. There's lots of garden space at the back, perfect for BBQs in the summer and energetic kids any time of year. We've also offer plenty of off-street parking. The rooms: - Open plan kitchen, dining and living space with French Windows opening out onto a large garden. - King Size Master Bedroom on the ground floor. - Bathroom with loo and bath on the ground floor. - King Size bedroom upstairs with an en-suite wet room, and large shower. Guest AccessThe whole house, except our daughter's down-stairs bedroom. Interaction with GuestsWe will be about twenty-minutes away and available to help in an emergency. The NeighborhoodIf you want a break from urban life then our place offers rural peace and quiet - wake to birdsong in the morning and nothing much else. Walk along miles and miles of Hampshire's footpaths and rivers - one of the most famous fly fishing rivers in the world, The Test, is only minutes away - then enjoy a well-earned lunch in one of our fantastic local pubs. We are close to St Mary Bourne and Longparish, classic English villages full of thatched cottages, endless walks and country pubs serving hearty roasts in front of log fires. There is a train line quite nearby, but the houses' double-glazing means you won't notice it. Whitchurch station is five minutes down the road, and trains take an hour to London direct, so day-trips to The Capital are a doddle. Other day trips include historic Winchester: twenty minutes by car, it's the ancient capital of England, with its Cathedral, fantastic shopping, restaurants and even an open air ice rink. Highclere Castle, where they shoot Downton Abbey, is about 15 minutes away. Other nearby stately homes include Mottisfont Abbey, with its river walks and thirties interior - a glimpse into the privileged life of the British aristocracy. Mottisfont is great for children as well, with outdoor trails and craft sessions, plus there's Finkley Down Farm down the road and Chilbolton Cow Common where you can swim in the river Test (when its warm enough!) Stockbridge is also worth a visit for its quirky cafes and independent shops. Newbury is twenty minutes in the other directions and offers great shopping and wonderful walks along the Kennet and Avon Canal. The New Forest is under an hour away, an ancient hunting forest where Ponies still graze wild. Eat at The Pig, renowned as one of the best restaurants in the south. If you're on a road trip, or continuing on elsewhere, then we're incredibly well-connected by road and rail. An hour from London, easy access to the West Country via the A303 which is five minutes away and the north and South Coast via the A34 which again is five minutes away. Getting AroundThe nearest mainline station to London is only five minutes away so you can train and taxi here BUT once here, it is remote so you will need a car to get to the shops etc. There is plenty of off-street parking at the front. From Heathrow, you could either pick up a hire car and drive down the M3 - it will take you just over an hour. Or you could take the train to Clapham Junction, then on to Whitchurch. We're a five minute's taxi journey away, then you could arrange to have a hire car dropped off here. Other Things to NoteThere is plenty of space to put down our very-comfortable King Size aero-bed in the main living space if you want to accommodate more than four people. Please note, the minimum rental time is 7 nights. Also our furniture is now slightly different from what is shown in the first photo.
