There are walks and cycle paths straight from the front door yet we're only 2 miles off the M40. At the same time guests have their privacy as the annex is entirely self contained.The property is based in the village of Northend in the Chilterns, an area of outstanding natural beauty. With undulating hills it is absolutely perfect for walking and cycling. The nearby riverside towns of Henley on Thames (8 miles) and Marlow (9 miles) are picturesque and charming with many independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Basic amenities (Co-op supermarket, butcher, excellent deli and pharmacy as well as Indian takeaway and Fish and Chip shop) are available in Watlington (3.5 miles). The city of Oxford is 30 minutes by car and Windsor 40 minutes. We are close to several National Trust properties including Cliveden, West Wycombe park, Hughenden Manor and Grey's Court which is just outside Henley. We are near to Wormsley Estate at Stokenchurch who host the Garsington Operas. We are 6 miles from Luxter's Barn based at the Chilterns vineyard. Close by are the Villages of Turville & Hambleden locations for the The Vicar of Dibley, Midsummer Murders and the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. We are 3 miles from the Lane End Conference Centre. The nearest supermarket is 2.5 miles away in Stokenchurch. The nearest country pub, The Tree is a 10 minute walk away, serving hot food with a mix of Indian & English dishes on the menu. English ale. If you like shopping then Bicester Village Outlet is 30 minutes away by car. Getting AroundHeathrow airport is 30 minutes away. London Marylebone is 34 minutes by train from High Wycombe which is 7 miles away. Central London is 42 miles by car and we are just over 3 miles from Junction 5 exit on the M40. As we are in the heart of the country you will need a car to get around. If arriving from Gatwick there is a bus link which takes 2 hours to Lewknor junction 6 off the M40 where we can meet & drop off if required. We are a 20 min bus or car drive from Oxford with its museums and restaurants and are 50 mins from Notting Hill / London - the Oxford tube stop is 3 miles away and bikes can be taken on the bus. Cycling groups run locally and maps for walking and hiking can be provided as well as Oxford/London day trip recommendations.
