The building also houses a music recording studio, plus an apartment upstairs where the owner resides. The large guest room (15'x25') is very clean, with two very comfortable queen sized beds (one of them with a memory foam mattress), and a couch. A private and clean bath room with shower is just down the hall. Cable TV and a small fridge are also included, along with little snacks and treats. A professional theater is located just down the street (Third Avenue Playhouse) and the best restaurants just 2-3 minutes to walk. Sunset Park is 5 minutes to walk. A breathtaking drive along the water towards northern Door County starts right here. Sturgeon Bay is located on the waters of Lake Michigan (the bay of Sturgeon Bay connects to the bay of Green Bay, which is part of Lake Michigan, plus there is a canal that directly connects the city to Lake Michigan) We are very close to the water (we can see it from our front porch) and there are abundant opportunities for fishing, kayaking, boating, and walking/biking along shorelines. Silent sports are becoming more and more popular in Door County, too. The arts have always played an important role here, and Sturgeon Bay offers great opportunities with TAP (Third Avenue Playhouse), Our home also houses a well known recording studio called STUDIO 330. If you are interested in music you will be well rewarded! Getting AroundYou can walk to Sunset Park, and on the way check out the amazing Bay Shipbuilding facility (5 min). Or head into town and visit some of the great restaurants, bars and cafes- all within a 2 minute walk. The downtown waterfront is equally close. And for a good workout, you can walk/jog/bike a loop across the two bridges in downtown Sturgeon Bay. Lots to explore right from our front steps. The SpaceI own a beautiful rural log home 5 minutes south of downtown Sturgeon Bay surrounded by huge maple trees, which are beautiful in any season but especially in the fall..I rent out 2 "country chic" guest bedrooms, rented separately ( a queen bed in each) with a shared bathroom. My bedroom is on the top level, so you have the run of the rest of the house with its huge living room, cathedral ceiling, cozy natural stone wood fireplace, cable TV, WiFi, dining room and shared kitchen. There is also a large deck which rings half the house, a firepit and an enclosed screen porch which is yours to use. We are 2 minutes away from Potawatomi State Park and its wonderful hiking/biking trails, groomed ski./snowmobile trails and fishing/boating and kayak opportunities. Door County is a peninsula with 270 miles of shoreline and 5 state parks. We are known as an art and cultural paradise with live music, folk festivals, several live theatres,a vast assortment of wineries, art galleries, great places to shop, quaint boutiques and (my favorite..), antique stores galore. Door County caters for all 4 seasons.. Its been called the "Cape Cod of the Midwest" I'm asking $110.00 per room per night (this includes Door County room tax and Wisconsin Sales Tax) which includes breakfast. I feed you exceptionally well... usually a home made hot breakfast, with great fresh-ground coffee in my French Press. You won't start a day of exploring hungry! Price includes all Wisconsin and Door County Room Taxes... Guest AccessI have a quaint wrap-around deck and porch. The porch has a roof over it. I also have a screen porch to use in the summer, so the bugs won't get you at night. I have a great fire-pit that my guests love to sit around and make awesome fires. Interaction with GuestsI love to meet new people and get to know them. That's why I love (URL HIDDEN) so wonderful to sit and share wine and talk. If you want to be left alone, I will do that also! It's great to enjoy a fire in my fireplace in winter, or a fire outside in my firepit. I've made lasting friendships with my guests, and I've had them return time and time again! The NeighborhoodMy house is nestled in a beautiful forest of maple trees. A walk around the block is a zen moment in itself...the trees are so tall and lush. It's just a 5-minute drive to Potawatomi State Park, or a 10 minute drive to downtown Sturgeon Bay. Getting AroundSorry, Sturgeon Bay is a small town, so there is no public transportation. There is a local taxi cab though.

The SpaceWelcome to our cottage, where our family spent many happy summer vacations. We loved Door County so much that we decided to live here full time. We now live next door: close enough for us to be available should you need anything, but far enough away so you can enjoy a private retreat. We're both private consultants that work with communities all around the country on matters concerning zoning, city planning, tourism and economic development. We're well-traveled--all seven continents--and love talking to people, but we'll also respect your right to be left alone. If you come during the summer there may be fresh tomatoes from the garden. You can relax by the lake and toast marshmallows by the fire pit. If you like to kayak or canoe, you can cast off from your private beach. The cottage is close to state parks if you enjoy hiking or biking. Door County features many quaint small towns with nice shopping districts, including numerous art galleries and antique stores. It's pretty easy to get tickets to the many professional theatre companies that mount performances every night. Many of our bars and restaurants offer free music. Lighthouses that are open to the public abound; we have more than any other county in the country. The details: It's a private 2 BR/ 1BA cottage on Door County's Green Bay side, south of Sturgeon Bay. There's a fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, WIFI, land line, and washer/dryer. You can rearrange the furniture to orient the seating areas towards either the fireplace (we have plenty of hardwood) or the water. Bedroom 1 features a queen-sized bed with a regular mattress and box spring. Bedroom 2 comes equipped with a queen-sized platform bed holding a regular mattress. Both bedrooms have sliding doors facing the water and leading to small decks. Air mattresses are available if you need them set up in the living room. All in all, it's: a terrific getaway. Come enjoy the summer season, fall foliage, fishing tournaments, hunting weekends, or snowmobiling . Pets welcome! Guest AccessYou'll have the run of the house, the yard and the waterfront. Check-in is 3:00 pm and check-out is 11:00 am. Interaction with GuestsWe let guests set the level of interaction depending on their preferences, so it's varied from no contact at all to long conversations over food and drink. If we run into you accidentally, we'll greet you and make sure that you have everything you need. The NeighborhoodThe cottage is located in a neighborhood that characterized by .50-1 acre wooded lots with seasonal residences. People love walking and biking around our loop road which has intermittent views of Riley's Bay and Sand Bay. There are a few small resorts and one campground in the vicinity, but it's primarily single family homes. The closest restaurant, Sunset Grill, is on the other side of Riley's Bay. Getting AroundYou need to bring a car. Sturgeon Bay and Door County do not offer public transit, but there are taxis if you overindulge while out on the town. There's plenty of parking at the cottage.

Spend your vacation in one of the most beautiful places in Wisconsin. Quiet and peaceful, surrounded by pine trees, our little cottage sits right on Lake Michigan with a fine sand beach. Watch the sun rise and have coffee on our flagstone patio. Then hike up to Whitefish Dunes State Park from our cottage. Spend the day in the sun and cook dinner on our Weber grill. Watch the stars come out and go to sleep to the murmur of the pines. Whitefish Bay (aka: ‘up north’) has been my vacation destination since I was a little girl. My mother and father built the house in 1948. Spending my summers in Whitefish Bay is one of my fondest childhood memories. I’ve traveled a lot and to me it is still one of the most beautiful places on earth. This property is owned by my family. Unique benefits: I like quiet. And it is very quiet in Whitefish Bay. You can hear the birds singing, watch the weather change, hike some lovely trails, or just sit on the patio and read. Things slow down a bit and you leave feeling renewed and refreshed. We have a fully equipped kitchen. One bedroom has a full size bed and the second bedroom has two twin beds which can be pushed together if you wish. Towels and sheets are not provided. We are located directly on Lake Michigan, just south of White Fish Dunes State Park. You can walk along the beach and into the Park beach area which is completely undeveloped and unused at the south end of the park.

Homes have a minimum of 1.7 (most have 5 or more acres) acres per property affording guests and residents privacy from one another. Our neighborhood is a cross section of local full time residents, families and 2nd home vacation owners. We all love the close proximity of the Bayshore Bluffland Preserve located 1/4 mile from our home. A perfect way to start or end your day is a hike up in the bluffs with a view of the water of Green Bay below. Also ideal for guests who want to walk or bike the scenic roads within our community.
