The SpaceOwl's Nest is perched near the top of a ridge near Valle Crucis, giving a gorgeous view to the west of mountains and sunsets. Set up as a rustic cabin experience, you'll have the convenience of a full kitchen, 2 1/2 baths, and sleeping accommodations while still enjoying being surrounded by the natural beauty of the area. There is also a hot tub and a fire pit to help you relax and unwind. Pets considered, please inquire. Guest AccessGuests will have access to the cabin, hot tub, deck, and wooded area behind the cabin. Parking is limited to 3 cars at the top of the driveway, no low profile vehicles. WINTER ADVISORY: 4WD vehicles highly suggested, necessary in cases of snow. Interaction with GuestsI let the guest dictate how much interaction we have. If the guest wants to meet and have me show them the cabin and suggest places to go, things to do, etc., that's fine with me. If the guest prefers a more hands-off approach, that's fine too. I am always available by email, text, or phone to answer questions or address concerns.

The SpaceAdlerhorst is German for "Eagle's Nest" -- a name chosen to describe this beautiful home nestled into the side of a mountain slope only 15 minutes from Boone, NC. While it is private, cozy, and secluded, this home also has beautiful mountain views year-round. Adlerhorst is 35 miles or less from many fun attractions including Beech, Sugar and Hawksnest for skiing and tubing, Grandfather Mountain, The Blowing Rock, Blue Ridge Parkway, Watauga Lake, Tweetsie Railroad, Mast General Store, golf - and more! Click here for a full list. Adlerhorst is fully furnished and equipped with everything you'll need in the kitchen and beyond. The game room/office offers a plethora of board games, toys, and there are many items for babies. The king master bedroom boasts a "spa shower experience" - dual shower heads with sprayers, large bench, and extra heat when you step out - you've got to try it! Upstairs, "The Fuji room" has a comfy queen bed plus a queen air mattress. "Camp Eagle" has two full beds to accommodate 4 more people. All bathrooms have Egyptian cotton towels, and there are lots of items for babies and kids. Guest AccessEverything except for the garage is included in your rental agreement, except for the 4th BR and 3rd full bath, those are by permission only (extra $50/night). Interaction with GuestsI am available online a lot - and split my time between the Boone area and Raleigh, so contacting me via message or email is best (don't always have cell service in the mountains). The NeighborhoodPrivate location but close to a neighborhood that is great for walking/hiking and fishing. Getting AroundVehicle required. 4WD highly recommended in winter. Other Things to Note• There is a propane grill on the deck. Kitchen has everything you should possibly need. Coffee maker is a standard Mr. Coffee with a reusable filter. • Most houses in the area are not built with central A/C, ours is one of them. However, being on a mountain slope with cool breezes from the nearby stream, it is typically another 5 degrees cooler than Boone, and almost always gets into the 60s overnight in the summer even if it gets to 80 during the day. Rarely gets over 80. There are ceiling fans in every bedroom and in the living room, and plenty of windows with screens :-) Enjoy the mountain air! If you stay in the cooler months - we have an awesome furnace, a wood stove, and an extra heater in the master bathroom.

The Little guest house has style dressed up with modern day decor. A convenient little kitchenette, complete with dishes and cooking utensils. The cozy living area is complete with a queen bed, entertainment center, a flat screen TV, a rocking chair, lamps and end tables. The bath area has an unique old claw foot tub, reminding you of grandma's house. The loft has a sitting area over looking the creek, a double bed and a chest of drawers also. The front porch is covered so you can sit on the swing and listen to the birds singing. The deck is complete with a hot tub, and a table and chairs to dine out. Beautiful flowers and a vegetable garden are for your enjoyment, while in season, all around the property. The property has so much to offer. You can take a walk around the property and hike through the woods. There are outdoor firepits in various places on the property and picnic spots as well. There is an abundance of wildlife along with a stocked creek, you may want to try your fishing skills, or just go tubing down the creek on a warm summer day. The two ponds on the property however is not for fishing, they have large fish that we feed as well as the ducks. You are sure to find something that hit the spot. Calming, stress relieving, and peaceable, that would be the words to describe this beautiful, well maintained, property. For quiet time, the loft is spacious and quaint, it has a swinging chair, a dresser and a rocking chair. The kitchen has all you need for a home cooked meal, it is open to the great room, build a fire in the fireplace and watch a movie all at the same time. After the evening is up, the bathroom has a charming Jacuzzi tub, which is sure to hit the spot. The downstairs bedroom has a flat screen TV and a queen size bed.       Cloud 9 is a wonderfully outfitted log cabin with heavy timber log construction and outstanding long range views. Once you arrive at the house, you will feel you have reached your destination with little reason to go anywhere else. This home is luxuriously appointed with a Hot Tub, 4 flat screen TVs, a Foosball Table, and views that just captivate you from just about anywhere on the property (inside or out). This home is located west of Boone, out highway 321, in a wonderfully quiet and private development near a retreat center (no loud parties or loud music please.) This home has beds for 8 people, with sleeping arrangements in the loft area as well as sleeper window seats, if desired, in the bedrooms. Here is how the Sleeping and Bath Arrangements are laid out: MAIN FLOOR: - King Bedroom with an attached full bathroom with tub/shower. - Second King Bedroom with attached full bathroom with shower. - Foldout queen sofa in great room has memory foam mattress (more comfortable than you'd expect from a sleeper sofa!)           This is a wonderful Log Home located on 5 acres. It has amazing long range views that can be viewed from every room of the house, a hot tub, a separate game room with pool table, flat screen TVs, great open feel throughout the house with vaulted heavy timber roof. This home has a wonderful soaring stone gas fireplace in the center of the living room. A large loft looks over the living room with continued views out the large wall of windows that open the great view to everyone. There is also an outdoor Fire Pit as well as extensive decks. This home is located west of Boone, out highway 321, in a wonderfully quiet and private development near a retreat center (no loud parties or loud music please.) WiFi data is limited. Please. Large, open plan, main level features a cathedral ceiling with rough hewn beams, a comfortable sitting area with views of mountains, farmhouse breakfast table, and large kitchen for meal prep. Separate dining room provides setting for festive gatherings. Comfortable seating areas in upstairs loft and lower level TV room provide plenty of room to spread out for lounging and reading. The division of the four bedrooms between first and third levels makes it ideal for a two family getaway. The house has three full baths, two with showers and one with a garden tub. Wraparound porch has multiple seating areas and a dining table to fully take advantage of the cool mountain air up at 3500’ feet. Additional amenities include wi-fi, flat screen TV, DVR, DVD and fiber-optic cable, washer & dryer, lovely linens and duvets, cook’s kitchen with all of the essentials. Long range, layered mountain views from the main living room, loft, breakfast nook, kitchen and porch. Each bedroom has a queen bed, and the largest basement bedroom has an additional twin bed. Additionally, the sofa up in the loft pulls out to a full size bed. All but one are brand new. Décor mixes new Mitchell Gold – Bob Williams upholstery with antiques, family heirlooms, and fun flea market finds. For the younger kiddos, we have a portable high chair, pack’n’play and many toys available. We have tons of books and board games as well, as HHMtn Happy is our favorite place to go analog and focus on family fun. Summer visitors, please note that we do not have (and seldom need) air conditioning, due to our high elevation and mountain breezes. There are ceiling fans throughout the house and at least 5 portable fans to ensure your comfort. You can check "Ski Beech, NC" for typical weather forecasts for our area. Summer highs are typically in the upper 70s or low 80s. Relax on the wrap around porch and watch the sun set over the mountains. Drink your morning coffee while watching deer graze in the yard and field. 2 acres of lawn and 6 acres woods are yours to explore. Our fire pit, Adirondack chairs, trails, giant jenga, portable cornhole boards, slackline, and porch swing await you! The house will be fully accessible other than locked owners' closets and furnace room. Emergency access to furnace room can be given. WINTER VISITORS, A NOTE ON OUR MOUNTAINOUS ROADS: HHMtn Happy can only be reached by steep and winding mountain roads, which WILL BE icy in winter weather. In the Blue Ridge Mountains, such weather can occur anytime between November and April. Please be ready to drive in hazardous conditions, including snow and ice. Four wheel drive, good tires, and chains may all be required to safely access the house. The occurrence of snow, ice, rain, and fog are all a part of the beautiful Blue Ridge, and it is your responsibility to be prepared for any hazardous conditions that occur. There will be no refunds, allowances, or date changes due to weather or accessibility. The whole house is yours during your stay. Within 10 days after transfer of the Premises, the grantee or the grantee's agent is required to notify Tenant in writing of the transfer of the Premises, advise Tenant whether Tenant has the right to occupy the Premises subject to this Agreement, or receive a refund of any payments made by Tenant. Upon termination of the owner's interest in the Premises, the owner, owner's agent or real estate agent is required to transfer all advance rent paid by Tenant to the owner's successor-in-interest within 30 days, and notify Tenant by mail of such transfer and of the transferee's name and address, or if tenant's occupancy under this Agreement is to end more than 180 days after recordation of the interest of the owner's successor-in-interest in the Premises, and the successor-in-interest has not agreed to honor this Agreement, all advance rent paid by Tenant must be transferred to Tenant within 30 days. If the owner's interest in the Premises is involuntarily transferred prior to Tenant's occupancy of the Premises, the owner is required to refund to Tenant all advance rent paid by Tenant within 60 days after the transfer. 11. EXPEDITED EVICTION. The expedited eviction procedures set forth in the Vacation Rental Act applies to this agreement. Tenant may be evicted if Tenant holds over in possession after Tenant's tenancy has expired; commits a material breach of any provision of this Agreement that according to its terms would result in the termination of tenancy; fails to pay rent as required by this Agreement; or has obtained possession of the Premises by fraud or misrepresentation. 12. INDEMNIFICATION AND HOLD HARMLESS; ASSIGNMENT; RIGHT OF ENTRY: Tenant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless agent and the owner from and against any liability for personal injury or property damage sustained by any person (including Tenant's guests) as a result of any cause, unless caused by the negligent or willful act of Agent or the owner, or the failure of Agent or the owner to comply with the Vacation Rental Act. Tenant agrees that Agent, the owner or their respective representatives may enter the Premises during reasonable hours to inspect the Premises, to make such repairs, alterations or improvements thereto as Agent or owner may deem appropriate, or to show the Premises to prospective purchasers or tenants. Tenant shall not assign this Agreement or sublet the Premises in whole or part without written permission of Agent. 13. PETS AND TOBACCO USE: Dogs allowed with prior approval by Owner. Damages by pets will be charged as described under paragraph (5) above. Smoking: Absolutely no smoking is allowed in the house or on any portion of the exterior porches, staircases, and decks. Tenant's breach of this provision shall be considered material, and shall result in the termination of Tenant's tenancy and the loss of Tenant’s security deposit. 14. Getting AroundThe cabin has plenty of level parking and the 75 yard gravel drive is not too steep. Winter can bring snow so all wheel drive is a good idea in the winter if snow is forecast. As you come up the gradual hill to the cabin stay to the right at the welcome Mama bear statue and circle around the cabin to the main entrance on the middle level. If you do have problems with the driveway, you can park at the entrance and walk up the hill to the cabin. Other Things to NoteThe cabin has plenty of level parking areas and is only 0.8 miles off Highway 321, a state maintained highway. Rush Branch Rd is a paved, state maintained road and the 75 yard gravel driveway up to the cabin is not too steep and will be maintained and cleared asap after snow. All wheel drive is suggested in the winter.

A bathroom, small kitchenette, and sleeping loft became necessary after he began to work long nights and fall asleep on the couch. My other son uses it for fiddle practice, and I love just to go up there to read as it has always been a sacred and quiet place for us. Guest AccessDrive up to the front of the garage and walk around the back of the garage to access the path to the studio deck. Interaction with GuestsI love to greet guests and learn about you. Just let me know if you have forgotten anything or need anything to make your stay more pleasant. I know the area well and can recommend places to dine or visit. The NeighborhoodThere are places to walk all through the woods! At the bottom of my driveway is a path just a few hundred feet that follows the creek to Watauga River with a great swimming and fishing hole. Trout and bass abound! A path from the parking area in front of the studio leads to a field above - great sledding and kite flying with no fear of electrical poles! If you are here when any fruit is in season, feel free to pick blackberries, blueberries, apples, or peaches. Lots of wildlife around. Getting AroundYou are only 15 minutes from Valle Crucis Park and Mast Store. There is a canoe/kayak put-out just a few more miles off of 321. Watauga Lake is down farther on 321 toward Elizabethton and is listed as one of the most scenic roads in the US. There are waterfalls very close by off of 321 and Valle Crucis. The Parkway, Grandfather Mountain, ski slopes on Sugar, Beech, and Appalachian are all within 35 minutes. Other Things to NoteDo eat in Boone or get supplies before driving out as I am 30 minutes outside of Boone. Cell phone reception fades once you are in Sugar Grove but returns once you begin on Rush Branch Road and closer to my house. A flashlight is helpful too.

Also my daughter leaves here reigning as the foosball champion and she loves it! The cabin is beautiful and decorated to the top. It is gorgeous with all of the Bob Timberlake paintings, fireplace and hot tub! We saw a doe and her fawn one morning that just stood there watching us for a very long time.
