We do have two indoor dogs that stay in the house when we are there. Their kennel is left in the mud room, and you are welcome to use it as well. Outside we have 1 dog, 2 horses, 2 rabbits, and chickens. Cattle have been purchased and arrive in early June. The house is very kid friendly. Lots of toys, games, and books. Pets are welcome, if approved ahead of time. There is plenty of parking space here for long trailers, extra cars, etc. We also have both 50 and 30 amp plugs and septic hookup for RVs.
The 2bd/1 bath guest house has a king bed in one bedroom (twin mattress in master closet for extra sleeping space) and a queen bed and twin/full bunk bed in the other. Large walk in closets in each bedroom. Full kitchen with dining area and large laundry/mud room with washer and dryer.
We have a 2014 travel trailer with a queen bed and set of bunk beds that are larger than twins but not quite full size because of an angled corner on one side. We have a horse trailer that has a very comfortable queen memory foam mattress and a set of narrow bunks. The horse trailer has a microwave and air conditioner, but it does not have plumbing. It's a very short walk to either house or the barn for a restroom.
If you plan to travel with your horses, access to the horse stalls, paddocks, automatic waterers, and hay can be arranged. We do not allow any horse riding by guests at our farm due to insurance policy regulations.
Please send a private message for pricing on the extra farm options. Guest AccessGuests who rent both have access to every aspect of the main house and guest house, except the master closet of the main house which is locked as an owner's closet. Pasture where cattle are grazing at that time and paddocks where horses are located should be off limits. Otherwise, you have full range of the property. Interaction with GuestsI make every effort to greet each guest at the farm to show them around and make them feel welcome. I live in Norman, so unfortunately I am not always available at check in. I am always immediately available by phone. My children and I or another person may be around tending to the farm animals or doing other farm chores. We can interact as much or as little as guests prefer. We want you to enjoy the farm in whatever way suits you best. We are available to answer any questions you may have or help in any way to make your stay more enjoyable, both before your arrival and during your stay. The NeighborhoodWe are 1:15 from the Oklahoma City Airport (OKC) and 2:30 from Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport (DFW). We are one hour from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK.
The farm is 8 miles north of The Artesian Hotel, Spa and Casino and Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur, OK and one mile off of Hwy 177. We hope this encourages everyone to unplug and unwind from the daily grind. This is one aspect of farm life we treasure and hope you find value in as well. There is one television with a digital antenna that gets 6 channels, DVD player and 20+ movie selection. At the farm we try to unwind by reading, playing cards or board games, enjoying long conversations over the dinner table, telling stories by the bonfire, and having serious kitchen dance parties! Plenty of speakers are available for your use. :)
