Foodies flock to the area's renowned orchards and vineyards; families can't get enough of the many sandy, lakeside beaches; and outdoor enthusiasts come for the golfing, hiking, biking and skiing. Today tourism plays a growing role in the economy, although the farming and fruit growing that gave Summerland its start continues to be the driving force, adapting to appeal to visitors. Grape growing and winemaking are taking their place alongside more traditional agriculture. But nature is still the biggest draw. Okanagan Lake provides opportunities for swimming, fishing, camping, kayaking, boating and water skiing. A multitude of hiking and cycling trails let visitors explore the town, discover bird habitat, see historic sites like the Trout Creek Bridge on the Kettle Valley Railway and take in the 360-degree views from the summit of Giant's Head Mountain. They also provide access to the highlands of the Thompson Plateau where small lakes are ideal for trout fishing.

The SpaceMid-century modern home. The inside is nicely updated and features, cool wood ceilings and an entirely new bathroom upstairs. A brand new custom kitchen and stainless steel appliances including a gas stove have been installed as of April, 2016. Bedrooms have new carpet and window coverings so you can hide from the brilliant morning sunrises if you like. All my furniture is about 3 years old, with an xbox one, 47" TV and super COMFY reclining couches for when you just want to hang out inside! A/C units in the living and master bedroom (MB is a tich loud, but I sleep through it no problem) that keep the house cool even on the hottest summer days. Downstairs has not been recently renovated. The exterior has been painted, and new glass railing has been installed on the deck. There is also an outdoor kitchen area with a sink, fridge, garbage and recycling bins and of course, a BBQ. Guest AccessYou get the entire property, minus some storage areas downstairs and the garage. Interaction with GuestsHappy to do my best to accommodate any requests for local info or activities. The NeighborhoodOnly two houses are past mine on this dead end street. Surrounded by mature landscaping and with an orchard bordering the back of the yard this place is the definition of quiet. A very short 5 minute walk will take you to a grocery store, a couple of restaurants, Timmys and a cold beer and wine store. A 15 minute walk downhill and you're at the beach, fine dining at the Local Lounge and Grill as well as the spa at the Summerland Resort. Penticton is a 15 minute drive to the south and downtown Kelowna is 50km away to the north (45min).. the house is also located along Summerland's centennial walking trail. Getting Aroundparking is available at the top of the driveway in front of the garage, and more spots are free at the bottom of the driveway. Extra parking can be accommodated, just ask! Other Things to NoteI will be going above and beyond to ensure your stay is amazing! The upstairs of the home is nicely updated. Downstairs is more functional space, with a washer, dryer and bathroom with stand up shower, but it's not as nice as upstairs. Two queen sized beds and one double. The outside of the house has a fresh coat of paint, the new outdoor kitchen and railing really let you get the most out of the outdoor space.

The SpaceQuiet natural setting with no light pollution. King size out door bed on dock so you can sleep under the stars. Let the sun wake you up then jump into the warm clean quiet lake to start the morning. This is my morning ritual when at the cabin. Guest Access15 minutes from Penticton 20 minutes from Kelowna 5 minutes from peach land and summerland. Fruit stand 1 kilometre - 1/2 mile. Vineyards and restaurant close by Other Things to NoteThis is a cabin on the lake its in very good shape and very clean and contemporary. But you must be ok with the potential of seeing a mouse in the house. I take all measures to prevent this but on occasion if a guest leaves a door open one will wonder in. Other wild life you will see are languid fish feeding near dock, ducks beavers and great bird watching
