Servce PUBLIC TRANSIT Phoenix’s light rail system, which debuted in December 2008, is the newest in the U.S. As such, riding light rail in Phoenix has both its perks and drawbacks. Pro: The trains are sleek and modern and clean. Con: The network so far extends only 20 miles. Light rail is good for getting around downtown Phoenix and accessing the museums and restaurants along Central Avenue. It also stops at Tempe’s Mill Avenue District and Sky Harbor airport. Trains run until 11PM Sunday through Thursday and until 2AM on Fridays and Saturdays. A one-way fare is $1.75, but the smarter deal is a $3.50 all-day pass (which also covers bus transfers). If you do decide to hop off light rail and brave a city bus, expect to be the only non-Phoenician on board. Other Things to NoteCloud Road, is the designated equine route that connects to the Paseo trail. Traveling north, the Paseo Trail borders: Bear Creak Golf Complex Paseo Vista Recreation Area Chandler Air Park Tumbleweed Park & Recreation Center Arizona Railway Museum. The Paseo Trail accommodates horseback riding, bicycling, walking or jogging. The trail runs through Chandler, Gilbert and Mesa. Heading 2.5 miles east is Veterans Oasis Park which covers 113 acres with 4.5 miles of trails and a 5 acre community fishing lake. San Tan Mountain Regional Park, within a 20 minute drive, offers over 20 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. The trails within the San Tan Mountain Regional Park are very popular because they offer a unique perspective of the lower Sonoran Desert with wonderful wildlife, plant-life and scenic mountain views. Downtown Chandler, just 6 miles north, is a vibrant, walkable destination brimming with activity. Here you'll discover Chandler's sustainably-built City Hall, boutique shops, eclectic art galleries, a museum, and the world-class Chandler Center for the Arts. Amidst it all are gathering spaces and public art that tie it all together in beauty and harmony. In addition to all the unique shops and galleries, many residents and visitors enjoy the award-winning, local eateries with a global flare. Whether you are in the mood to grab a burger and brew at a micro-brewery, enjoy a romantic dinner for two under the stars on a lush patio, or nosh the afternoon away at an Arizona winery, this is one delicious destination! The SpaceThank you for checking us out! Please read the entire description as we try to answer the most common questions we get from guests. This listing is for the entire home including the resort like backyard with pool, children's pool, gas barbecue, and lounge area. The views of the Ocotillo golf course, lakes, and local mountain ranges are breath-taking. The home is 2300 square feet with high vaulted ceilings, a remodeled kitchen with granite counters and newer appliances. All the essentials are provided such as sheets, blankets, towels, bath and shower toiletries and laundry supplies for your entire group. There is off-street parking available for up to 4 cars (2 garaged). There are up to 4 separate sleeping areas. - master suite with king-size bed and attached full bathroom - private bedroom with queen size bed - private room with full size bed - living area with twin air beds There are 2 bathrooms, a fully stocked laundry room, as well as a large kitchen. (Children supplies such as high chair and pack n play are available for rent, please ask if needed) There is a 65' big screen flat panel TV in main living area as well as TVs in the family room and the master bedroom. ****Please let us know if you have pets. Pets are welcome to stay here, but we do require that you have a place to keep your pet (i.e. dog crate, pet carrier, etc.) while you may be away from the house. A pet fee of $40/week up to $125/month (pet fees are prorated) applies. ***Note: Swimming pool is not normally heated. Children's pool is overflow style into the pool (see photos), so pools always have similar temperatures and can't be heated separately. There is a pool heater attached to the pool system. If you wish to request the heated pool option (available for stays of 7 days or longer), fuel needs to be ordered in advance. Guests requesting pool heat are responsible for fuel costs ($100 minimum, held back from damage deposit after departure) as well as a $100 setup fee (charged at booking time). Please let us know at booking time if you are interested in the heated pool option, and please read “Proper expectations for pool heat” (below). *** Proper expectations for pool heat: Use of a pool heater for an outdoor pool is designed to extend the normal swimming season by a few weeks (recommended ONLY in April, May, and till mid-November). Using a pool heater in colder months tends to require excessive fuel cost, because cold desert night temperatures cause water to lose heat very quickly. Pool heat is unnecessary from late-May through September. Instructions on how to use the pool heater will be provided, if you have requested the pool heat option and paid the setup fee. Please keep in mind that pool heater may require up to a full day (maybe more, maybe less) to heat the pool to your desired temperature. Fuel is stored in propane tanks (outdoors, near the pool equipment) which could run empty during your stay depending on pool heater and gas BBQ usage. In such cases the fuel delivery company will refill tanks as quickly as possible for your continued use. Refilling all 4 propane tanks usually costs about $400 in fuel. If you are coming to phoenix to explore the city, a quick drive will get you almost anywhere in the city. We are happy to help you plan your adventures if you would like suggestions. From white water rafting and trapeze lessons, to wine tastings or museums, we have found a lot of fun things to do in the phoenix area! If your trip is more adventure focused, the home is located on the Ocotillo golf course and approximately 15 minutes from great mountain biking and hiking in south mountain park. If you are going to be travelling around the southwest after your time in phoenix, you can feel free to leave bigger bags here and use this as your base. San Diego, Los Angelas, Las Vegas, and the beaches of mexico are all about 5 hours away. The Grand Canyon, Sedona, White Mountains, and AZ's wine country are 2-4 hours. Take your carry-on, and leave the big stuff while you explore. We have been to almost every corner of the state, so if you want to know the hidden treasures, we would be happy to tell you our favorite places to visit. With that info we can make sure the home is ready for your group and that you have all the necessary supplies, linens, etc. I am happy to answer any questions you may have. We look forward to hearing from you! Guest AccessGroups will have access to all areas of the home. There is a ping-pong table and big screen upstairs in the loft that we are happy to set up for you. You also have access to the laundry room if you've been on the road for a while, and the kitchen in case you want to cook a home-cooked meal. : Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) is the major airport that serves Phoenix. Sky Harbor is only 3 miles from downtown and 15-30 minutes from most everywhere else. Sky Harbor's average fare ranks as one the lowest among the country’s 10 busiest airports. Sky Harbor has trademarked the slogan “America’s Friendliest Airport,” and free WiFi in every terminal helps back up that claim. Travelers flying to Phoenix from the Pacific Northwest and Midwest should check fares on Allegiant Air, which flies to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (IWA) from 21 cities.
