The SpaceBeautiful and sunny 2 story charming rustic Tahoe wood cabin/house at what we think is the best location in Tahoe City, California a few homes away from Lake Tahoe.
Park the car at the house and walk around instead of being stuck in traffic. Even better hop on a bike and use the bike trails 3 houses away. It is very walkable!
About 6 houses from the lake (Sunnyside Resort Beach Bar Dock), a few houses from the paved bike path, Westshore Market (delicious sandwiches, pastries, gelato) and Firesign Cafe (best breakfast in Tahoe) and Spoon Restaurant.
Leave the car at the house, avoid the summertime traffic/parking fees, and walk to Sunnyside resort/beach, Firesign Cafe, Kilner Park, paved bike paths, etc during summer. Walk to Westshore Sports to rent paddleboards, kayaks, boats, jetskis, etc. Tube the Truckee River. Stroll along Tahoe City's cute shops, restaurants, and bars. TART bus to ski resort stops in front of Sunnyside which takes you all over Tahoe.
Completely private and separate house from other house (only shares driveway). House is on Pineland Drive and West Lake Blvd (streetview listed on this website incorrect).
2 bedrooms (upstairs) with a wood fireplace, 2 separate stairways, Pottery Barn dining table seats 4, 2 barstools, and large kitchen.
Bedroom 1 has a king sized bed (purchased 2016) with an extra firm mattress. The bed headboard is a unique piece, a locally made log bed frame by a local artisan that tells an amazing story. The bed headboard is hand carved and the logs are sourced from the Sierra with the left bed post from the mountains by Northstar, the right bed post from Donner Lake, and the logs in between from Mammoth.
Bedroom 2 is a loft bedroom with 2 twin beds and a queen bed.
In between the rooms is a large walk through closet. The living room has a pullout sofa and futon.
There is one bathroom downstairs. The house has a full size washer and dryer. Gorgeous wood walls throughout house. Large porch with rocking chair. Wood fireplace. Gated property. Paved private parking on property. Narrow stairs. Lower ceilings upstairs and in one of the 2 stairways. Wall heaters and wood fireplace downstairs.

Our toddler loves to play in the large open space in front and in back of the house. Sip hot chocolate while sitting on the rocking chair on the porch or large backyard.
Heating: the cabin's main source of heat is the fireplace in the living room which is the best fireplace I have ever had. The upstairs rooms have plug in heaters and the dining room has a wall heater. The people sleeping downstairs may want to keep the fireplace going to maintain the heat downstairs. We haven't had to use heaters during the Spring or Summer.
Sorry there is no dishwasher and no garbage disposal in the kitchen sink.

This is a old Tahoe style cabin with updates. You must be cool with what comes with the charm that comes with old wood style houses. There is no dishwasher and no garbage disposal. There is no central heating. Great for people who like to be close to nature and want to relax.
We offer discounts for 7 days or more. Monthly rates are available. Guest Accesslarge house (the entire gated property shared with other house is almost half an acre which is rare in Tahoe City where many houses are built right next to others), shared driveway with other house, front yard, backyard, close to bike trails (summer/fall/spring), West Shore sports around the corner with rentals of stand up paddle boards, bikes, jet skis, boats, kayaks . Interaction with GuestsWe will not be present so you will have your privacy. Please call or text us and we will be glad to help! The NeighborhoodAbout 15 mins from Squaw Valley USA ski resort, Alpine Meadows ski resort, and 10 mins from Homewood ski resorts. About 5 mins to Granilbakken ski area/tubing. Opposite of the bad traffic from Truckee/east Tahoe City to the ski resorts. You can also drive to Northstar, Sugarbowl, Diamond Peak, and Mount Rose ski resorts.
The best location in Lake Tahoe, 4 houses from Lake Tahoe, about 6 houses from Sunnyside Resort(lake access). Walk to Sunnyside Market, Firesign Cafe, Spoon Restaurant, Westshore Sports, Kilner Park, restaurant, Sunnyside beach. Bike to main drag of Tahoe City and Truckee River. Short drive to Emerald Bay. Live music and sunset dinners at Sunnyside on many days.
This is a great year round North Shore location at a very affordable price. Drive to South Lake Tahoe Harrahs and Harvey's casinos or to the Lake Tahoe area casinos such as Crystal Bay casino or CalNeva. You can also drive to Reno (shopping, casinos, pho, buffets, shoes, Circus Circus). Bike/drive to Truckee River and River Ranch where there is tubing during the summer. Getting AroundTahoe Bus TART (bus stop a few houses away), Tahoe TAXI, bike paths, walking hiking trails, tubing at Truckee River (summer if there is enough water) Other Things to NoteOur dream house was purchased in 2014 because we wanted a place for our toddler daughter to actually have a yard to play in and experience the outdoors unlike our small apartment (aka "shoebox") in the City. It's great that she can play on the large property, build a snowman, gather pine cones, ride her scooter, enjoy biking the bike path around the lake with us, and we can walk to the lake. The house has a large front yard and huge backyard away from the street since it is a fenced property. The gated property shared with the other house is almost half an acre!
We could not ask for a better location. We think it is the best location in all of Tahoe. We have the ability to walk to Sunnyside and the lake is only a few houses away. Amazing world class ski resorts are only a short drive away. There are very few places in Tahoe where we can walk to a store, restaurants and the lake while being so close to the ski resorts.
It is the only home we own so please take care of it so that our family, friends, and guests can enjoy it for years to come. We love this place and hope that you will too.
Please contact us immediately if there is an emergency or damage. If there is anything missing or item you think we should get please let us know. Our cozy place is a work in progress (not the 4 seasons or Hyatt) but we hope to get a hot tub and other cool items in the next few years.
1) Please be careful around the fireplace since it is very hot. The handle gets very hot so please use the oven mitt on top of the fireplace. Bring some firesticks to help get the fire started.
2) The flume is always open, sometimes some smoke will come in the house until the hot air pushes out the cold air in the chimney. The trick is to light something small like some paper or a fire stick to get some hot air going up the chimney then once the cold air is out it will start to suck the flame and smoke in.
The fireplace works very well for us once we get a fire going. We have used it during a heavy storm and had no issues at all.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Please respect our neighbors.
