This well-appointed cabin features a fully equipped kitchen with oven, stove, refrigerator, blender, toaster, microwave, crock pot, and all of the plates, glasses, pots and pans you will need. Coffee drinkers can choose between the Keurig and the traditional coffee maker. The living room features a nice wood burning fireplace, flat screen television (with a ROKU and about 20 local channels - no cable) and plenty of comfy seating. There are two large bedrooms upstairs with a total of 5 twin beds, 1 double bed, and futons for the kids. There are two full bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. There is a smaller bedroom downstairs that has been converted to a sitting lounge with games, books, karaoke and bar supplies. Set up your laptop there are take advantage of the flat screen monitor and fast, free Wi-Fi.
A large porch wraps around two sides of the cabin - the front is covered for rainy days while the side has an outdoor table for dining alfresco. Roast some marshmallows over the outdoor fire pit, play a leisurely game of badminton, throw some horseshoes or simply relax out on the lawn chairs and take in the views. Nights are typically clear and cool for stargazing through the cabin's telescope.

Firewood can be bought locally## Guest AccessGuests have four full acres to roam on the property, as well country roads for biking (there are two bikes for your use), trails for hiking (Florence Shelley Nature Preserve, Salt Springs State Park, D&H Rail Trail), nearby state game lands, trout streams, golf courses, and much more. The woods feature cherry, maple, ash and soaring pine trees as well as a wide variety of animals including deer, fox, turkey, and black bear. Like to fish? There are trout streams nearby and a few public access lakes. Have a canoe or kayak? The Susquehanna River is down the road. There are State Game Lands throughout Susquehanna County for deer and turkey hunting in the fall. It is also near the new Aaronic Priesthood Restoration Site.
Please note: Our property is the front grassy area down the hill and extends back to the stone wall. Do not explore on our neighbors property either to the right side (there is a cabin over there) or the left side (beyond the row of pines). For hiking in the area, we have suggestions in the guide book. Interaction with GuestsGuests do not need to meet with the owner to check in. There is a keypad on the door. No key exchange needed. Directions provided upon booking. We live fairly close and are available if a situation arises. Otherwise, we will not bother you unless you need anything. The NeighborhoodHills, deer, turkey, deep woods; neighbors are few and far between and rarely seen. Getting AroundThis is a remote cabin on a dirt road but just off a state highway. Winter access requires chains and four wheel drive. In the event of deep snow, you will need to walk up a steep hill. Call us and we can advise on winter access. The summer poses no problems for driving to the cabin. Other Things to NoteWe do not provide sheets and towels, in that there is no washer/dryer on site. There are laundromats nearby for our longer term guests.
Guest must remove their garbage at the conclusion of the rental. No exceptions.
There is one window ac upstairs, but the nights are cool!
There is not a telephone on the property, but cell service is good.
