The SpaceA beautiful old home, renovated and transformed into something really different and memorable! The traditional architecture and original oregon pine floors are among the features you will admire, but the way the owners have themed the rooms is inspiring! Tasteful, yet humorous, with attention to detail - you will love the Zebra, Giraffe and Leopard Rooms, with far more extras than you would expect for the price you pay. Guests can expect a homely, friendly welcome from hosts Dave and Amanda, who are deeply involved in their community and can introduce you to local people from all walks of life. Swellendam is a beautiful little historical town, with an interesting museum, great restaurants and even a Faerie Sanctuary! It is the capital of Berry Growing in SA and visits to Berry Estates/ Farms to taste jams / liqueurs and preserves can be a highlight of your visit. Swellendam is bounded by two nature reserves, Bontebok and Marloth Mountain, both providing very different walking and viewing experiences. It is a bird lovers' paradise, with varieties of endemic species to add to your list, and the garden at Impangele has so many diverse birds, that guests frequently just want to sit there all day! Swelllendam is on all the main Garden Route bus services, and Amanda or Dave are happy to collect visitors from the stop which is close by. The breakfast at Impangele is amazing - a typical English breakfast is prepared by Brit Dave (including fried bread, baked beans and HP sauce!) - and there is also a choice of meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, cereals, muffins, pastries etc. Impangele is quirky, memorable, friendly and affordable! You will definitely want to come back again and again

Come and enjoy a peaceful stay at the charming Victorian 180 year old house of Jean Henry Battenberg. If these walls could talk, it will tell you many tales of the late republic Swellendam. One of the very few national monuments which survived the horrific fire of 1865. The house was renovated a few years back, but has kept much of it’s former historic character. With it’s original yellow-wood beams and sash windows with shutters, you will feel very much at home. Elianthe’s is set in the main road close to many restaurants and attractions. There is plenty to do and your hostess will be happy to make recommendations and bookings for you. Feel free to stay a few days to enjoy Swellendam and it’s beautiful surroundings. For the adventurers there is horse rides, river adventures and one can go hiking in the mountains. Nature lovers can go to Bontebok National Park to see some wild animals. The Redberry farm close by also give wine tastings. The shoppers can take a walk through the plenty of little shops in the main road. The SpaceTucked away in the fields of the South African landscape and just far enough away from the city, is a serene, secret paradise. Farm life and astounding natural beauty is a place so breathtaking even god has a window. Hidden in a wide valley basin between the agricultural towns of Swellendam and Ashton, sits a shimmering sculpture of glass and concrete flanked by verdant hills and the imposing ever changing peaks of the Langeberg Mountain range. This is Gods kitchen. Across the courtyard are two luxurious guest suites that function as exceptional boutique style accommodation for a maximum of 6 guests. Beyond the courtyard and the inviting 16-metre-long solar heated pool, across the vast, rolling lawn lies a lush, forested kloof rising up dramatically to form a cleft in the mountainside, this is where you will see Gods Window. The property is located on the R60 in the heart of the Overberg. This makes Gods Window the perfect luxury headquarters from which to explore the area. A small Arabian stud and a champion English pointer live side by side with mountain leopard, small game and a lively family of baboons. Keen riders can explore the nearby surroundings in Arabian style. For the more adventurous there is a 4-hour walk through the most diverse fynbos, up the mountain to the ledge of Gods window.
