The SpaceTurn yourself in a 360-degree circle and all you see is grass and tree meeting the sky. The extraordinary landscape at Lakeview will take you on a journey to the heart of native Oklahoma, concentrating largely on the green country. It is filled with breathtaking views of the wondrous landscape and wildlife that inhabit its 142 acres.
As you arrive at Lakeview you are introduced to the main lodge. With its natural stone and cedar construction you feel as though the lodge was placed there by nature herself. After finding a private place to meditate, to journal, you stop and reflect under the shade of the 1200+ square feet of cedar porches. You feel your energy re-invigorated through a peaceful frame of mind.
Along with the sunrise and sunset extravaganzas, you can enjoy the outdoor fire-pit as you watch the smoke trail up to the skies and you feel your connection to the circle of life.
Though you don’t want to stray far from this safe haven of cedar and stone, there will come a point when you will want to roam around the grounds, catching the rays of sunlight through the canopy of trees and walk along the paths. The longer you stay the further you want to explore the forested trails and to experience the exciting peace of your heart and mind that has begun in earnest.
As the concept of time slips away you are washed over by the familiarity to the world around you that you have forgotten in the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Every aspect inside Lakeview is as tranquil and natural as the outside. As you walk into the main lodge the scent of cedar washes over you as you stand beneath the ceiling soaring over 20 feet that appears suspended by a single tree. You notice the natural Amish rocking chair and deep leather furniture inviting you to sit and relax before the working [gas] natural stone fireplace. The main lodge has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms and sleeps individuals, couples, a family or multiple families comfortably.
The sensory experience doesn’t end. Take advantage of the fully stocked pond suitable for fishing or swimming, full amenities in the butcher-block counter kitchen, play one of many family-friendly games and recreations, read from the great selection of children, youth and adult books, or relax in the jetted tub or double shower in the master bath. The little ones (and their parents and grandparents) will love the large enclosed backyard with a huge sandbox.
Your next step is through the double glass doors onto a cedar porch with a breath-taking view of the lake on one side or the idyllic pond on the other. There are also several picnic areas to choose from.
The Cottage is connected by the covered deck to easily accommodate your large group or extended family. Lakeview is also a great choice for a romantic get away for just the two of you. The full property is yours to enjoy, whether you use just the Lodge or also the Cottage.
At Lakeview, you will witness at night by the star-filled sky, and the beautiful natural surroundings by day. You will feel its profound effect on your daily life as Lakeview becomes a cherished memory of your life’s journey where you will want to return again and again. Guest AccessYour group has complete access to Lodge, Cottage and grounds. In all, there are 142 acres, although during growing season, the paths in the woods are pretty overgrown. Our nearest neighbors are down the county road 1/4 mile. Interaction with GuestsWe are very responsive to guests needs, requests and comments. Call us any time. We had one call at 4am once because the water was not coming on and they needed to shower. We had our neighbor fix the problem right away, and then fixed it long-term afterwards. The NeighborhoodIn the half-mile county road to our property from 51, you pass by our 3 neighbors. The last 1/4 mile you climb the ridge that gives you the gorgeous views that makes Lakeview unique. Our closest neighbor, keeps an eye on things when we are gone, but is our resident handy-man when needed (and has been multiple times). Getting AroundWe are not close to public transportation, but that is what our guests want. We do have parking for boats and trailer, though no hookups. One mile from entrance to Sequoyah State Park, which had a multi-million $ improvement last year. It is very worth while visiting, nature center, golf, trails, boat ramps. Other Things to NoteWe live here whenever we don't have guests. We are always looking for ways to add more value for families getting together. Our 5 children are all married, 7 grandchildren (as of 2016), and we all come together multiple times a year, so we have learned what works well for large groups. Outdoor activities-basketball court, full-size volleyball, 12X16 foot sandbox, 3 swing and slide wood jungle gym, 50X100 enclosed back yard, 1200 sq ft of deck in front, side and back of Lodge and Cottage.
