The Guest House was opened in 2000 and since then has played host to many international travellers. Purpose built this house is situated in a unique location with a stunning setting and sweeping views from it's elevated position. Set within a Kiwi reserve, you are gauranteed to hear the calls of our elusive national bird. Our Pacific Coastline has to be some of the most impressive in NZ. With towering topography, white sand ocean beaches and clear water pristine estuaries, it is a largley uncompromised environment with a lot of it already under protection through reserves and DOC estates. Along with our national Te Ara Roa Walkway passing right through, there is also an extensive network of walks and hikes of a large variety, something to suit everyone. Over the summer a feature of our coast are the warm clear waters, a natural aquatic mecca with a large collection of stunning beaches and waterways in the vicinity - and for the rest of the year we still remain New Zealands warmest region, so winter at The Guest House can be a warm and sunny experience. The fitout of the Guest House is of Scandanavian influence with simple but stylish furnishings and tasteful decor, all adding to the experience. From family holidays to romantic retreats, The Guest House is suitable for most purposes. It makes for a perfect base from which to explore a beautiful region of New Zealand. The Guest House is located 1 hours drive from The Bay of Islands, and 40 minutes drive from Tutukaka and access to The Poor Knights Island Marine Reserve. Our local area is all about the landscapes, beaches, forest, walks, hikes and a natural environment to explore and enjoy. We can provide easy catering with our ?we prepare - you serve? offering or you can choose to have our private Chef prepare you a decadent dinner at the Guest House.
