The SpaceA larger style 2 storied traditional Japanese house. Exposed beams, wood panelling, glass, and paper sliding doors, 8 rooms, 8 tatami size (Rice Mat) flooring, insect screens cover all windows allowing cool sea breezes in Summer months with electric fan/heater/Aircon if required. A small kitchen with most amenities, fridge/freezer, gas stove, microwave, hot/cold water. A new bath/shower/washroom/ western style shower toilet has just been completed, with eastern toilet available for the adventurous. Wifi, washing machine and Japanese TV available. The air conditioned living room has a small family Buddhist Shrine. Guest AccessAs a Japanese house wearing of shoes inside is not permitted however slippers are provided. The only private space is the hosts bedrooms and some second story rooms that maybe still undergoing renovation. All other rooms apart from those being used by other guests or boarders are accessible. The house is a non-smoking environment, however outside and sheltered areas are available. A front yard is available for sunning. Interaction with GuestsHosts will be available throughout your stay to offer recommendations on sites but a 'Not in your face policy is observed' for those seeking privacy.
A range of Kimono and Yukata are available for a photo opportunity. Two bicycles are available for use to explore town and community The NeighborhoodPlenty to see and do, with the beach 5minutes walk away, Aeon Super Mall, Spa Pool's and Massage centre, restaurants, bar's, eateries and Pottery Trail, all within 10 minutes by train. We can receive and store parcels packages and luggage via courier to save carrying with you throughout Japan and we can also store baggage if you need to limit weight while traveling to visit other areas/regions/cities. For a fee and train fares your host can provide a day's guided tour of local Eateries, Pottery Trail/Galleries, and local shopping or by 40 minute train trip to Daibutsu, Nagoya City (The Fashion Capital of Japan) Atsuta Shrine, Shopping Plaza's, English Bookstore and various sites and scenery about Nagoya City. Dependent on the season trips to orchards where for a fee you can eat as much as you can hold. This will require approximately 30 mins by car, with transport costs applying. A private car tour is also available by arrangement. Dependent on the season there is many festivals to be viewed and enjoyed, either guided or directions provided. Two bicycles are available for use, as a means of travelling to nearby shops, amenities, bars and beaches. The house is about 5 mins walk to the beach, wharves, coastal fishing (we have a selection of rods available, with a small fee applying) and harbour, ideally suited to bicycling, with an excellent traffic free route along the Tsunami wall recommended. Some excellent beaches with all facilities (Toilets, showers, changing rooms) are nearby. A strict no drink driving zero alcohol tolerance rule applies throughout Japan. Getting AroundWe are situated approximately 10 minutes comfortable walk to the nearest railway station of Kabaike from which the International Airport is approximately 10-15minutes away, Tokoname City with Banking facilities etc 10 mins and Nagoya City approximately 40-50 mins with stops at about 10 stations. Taxies are available, and we have nearby vehicle parking for cars/vans/motorbikes. Car rentals can be arranged. Other Things to NoteBreakfast options of fresh fruits, yogurt, serials, avocado toast, eggs/tomato/bacon or sausages, green tea/coffee or a Japanese breakfast is available on request for a small fee. Lunch and tea by arrangement if required. As guests may prefer to access the many nearby (very reasonably priced) eateries and dining facilities.
