The SpaceThis very private cabin is situated in 32 acres of hillside bush setting and gardens, away from the road and not overlooked by anyone. It's the perfect spot for a quiet getaway. Ingredients for a full delicious breakfast are provided so you can have a lazy lie-in without rushing anywhere.
Kangaroos and wallabies will hop past as you enjoy your breakfast. You might even get to meet Gordon, our resident goanna.
The cabin is fully fly screened and has an open plan bedroom/sitting room with a super comfy king sized bed, TV & DVD player, and a large en-suite bathroom (with a bath).
The lounge opens onto a covered terrace containing the kitchen, with café blinds for protection in the winter. The kitchen is equipped to enable you to self cater with a bar fridge, small oven and hotplates, microwave, electric kettle, sandwich maker and electric frypan. There are also basic condiments for cooking e.g. olive oil, soya sauce, salt, pepper.
Generous ingredients for a full breakfast with a selection of teas, coffee, juice, milk, eggs, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, cereal, bread and condiments etc. are supplied for the first two nights stay. (When you book, please let me know if you have any special dietary requirements).
There is a seating area outside with a brazier where you can relax with a drink and look at the stars. There is also a small wood burning Webber BBQ (with firewood).
Quality bedding and towels are provided and there are no additional cleaning costs.
A hairdryer is provided.
The cabin is not air-conditioned but has large ceiling fans and lots of cross ventilation which provide a beautiful breeze.
There is an electric heater for winter.
We are located midway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast and only 20 minutes drive from Tamborine Mountain so this is a great base for exploring SE Qld, or maybe you just want a romantic quiet weekend away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Your own transport is essential as the closest, regular, public transport is about 10-12 km away at Windaroo (bus) or Beenleigh (bus and train). Do NOT book this space if you want to walk to shops or tourist attractions, although shops and tourist attractions are within easy driving distance.
Pre-paid internet is available. The cost is $15 which allows 10 days use. Mobile phone reception is very good.
Parking is right next to the cabin.
The main house is about 40 metres from the cabin and between the house and the cabin is a large, solar heated magna swimming pool. This is available for guest use throughout the day and evening. The pool is heated to 30 degrees (dependent on the sunshine and night time temperature)). The heating is switched off from June to August so will take until mid September for the pool to warm to the set temperature.
Within walking distance, along the beautiful valley, is a beautician who can be booked for relaxing facials, pedicures etc..
There are also two professional equestrian facilities in the valley.
On the main Beenleigh/Beaudesert Road, about 3 km away, there is an Ecopark where you can hire rods and fish or feed the animals.
We look forward to sharing our little piece of paradise with you.
A wide range of DVDs can be borrowed from the main house at no charge.
You are welcome to explore our 32 acres and if you are into gentle exercise, walking along the valley is also pleasant.
You will see us when you arrive and leave, apart from that you will be completely private, with your own access (and key) away from the main house, however we are readily available if any problems arise or if you want some tourist information.
Our emphasis is on your privacy in a truly relaxing environment; a perfect escape from city life at the weekend.
This is a beautiful valley within easy driving to many attractions.
Tamborine Mountain is 20 minutes away.
The Gold Coast theme parks are less than 30 minutes away.
The Gold Coast hinterland, e.g. Lamington National Park, The Natural Arch, O'Reilly's park etc., are easy day trips.
Brisbane City is 40 minutes drive but can also be accessed from Beenleigh station by train. Beenleigh is 12 km away.
Byron Bay is about 2 hours drive.
If you are staying here to attend a Tamborine Mountain wedding we are prepared to negotiate transport to and from the venue if we are available.
We are approximately 40 minutes drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast airports.
Beenleigh station and the bus terminal are about 12 km. away.
Be prepared to meet lots of wallabies, kangaroos, goannas and birds!
Basic toiletries are provided (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel). Towels are changed mid-week and bedding after one week.
Please be aware that we are on tank water rather than mains water so water is extremely precious. Guest AccessYou will have full access to the resort style solar heated pool, its gazebo and patio area and also to the 32 acres of bush and gardens.
You will have your own key and will not disturb anyone, regardless of the times you come and go. Interaction with GuestsWe are available for help with tourist information or any other issues. If we are not at home I am happy to respond to any questions or problems via text.
We are also happy for you to be completely private in the cabin. The NeighborhoodI love the tranquility and the scenic views that our valley offers. We are only 20 minutes drive from Tamborine mountain, with all its tourist attractions, but much cheaper than accommodation on the mountain :) Getting AroundThere is no public transport to the cabin. The nearest shops and restaurants are 10 minutes drive away. Parking is directly next to the cabin although, if it is VERY wet, access up the track can be difficult without a 4 wheel drive. On the rare occasions that this happens there is a 50 metre walk from your car to the cabin. Other Things to NoteSome of our guests go out and visit tourist attractions, some just stay around here and go for walks, listen to music, read books, swim and relax. It's up to you.
Do NOT book the cabin if you want to walk to shops or tourist attractions or if you like a busy space with lots of people.
It is much easier for you to arrive during daylight hours as their are no street lights and the track up to the cabin is unsealed. However, if you arrive at night time, you can leave your car near the house and walk the 50 metres to the cabin and drive up the next morning.
The cabin is not suitable for small children who are crawling or for toddlers (for safety reasons).
