All linen, bedding and towels provided. You need to bring all your food. BBQ and BBQ area. Big front veranda with table and chairs. Perfect for watching the sunset. Carport and sheds to park your cars or bus in. Pet friendly with a fully fenced yard and orchard. Please bring all your own food. Rathdowney is a 10 minute drive and has a General Store, Butcher Shop, Petrol Station and a Pub. Beaudesert is 20 minute drive and has two supermarkets and various stores in the town. Guest AccessThe property has kangaroos, hares and turtles running wild. There is a dam on the property that you can go fishing and swimming at. We have a canoe and a boat at the dam for you to use. You are welcome to go for long walks around the property or we can take you for 4WD to see all the wildlife. This is a country setting with plenty of open spaces. The NeighborhoodPlaces of interest include Country Markets at Beaudesert, Canungra or Boonah, wine tasting at local vineyards, museums, olive and lavender farms or a scenic drive through the National Park. Climb Mt Barney or do some country shopping at Beaudesert or Boonah. Rathdowney Hotel serves a very good country dinner. Hawkins Farm House is a 90 minutes drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast. There is no public transport. "Lockerbie" is somewhere for you to go and enjoy the country side of Queensland, Australia and not have to travel to far away from the major cities. Other Things to NoteThe property is near Rathdowney in the Scenic Rim. There is cattle yards that can be used to keep your horse in. Pet friendly accommodation, fully fenced house yard. Make sure that you purchase all your food at Beaudesert on the way to the house as that is the closest supermarket.

      These glamping accommodations (Henrys Hut and Foresters Hut) are two cozy forestry cabins that share adjacent amenities. The cabins each have a full, self-contained kitchen featuring an oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, tea and coffee making facilities, an outdoor area with a gas barbecue, and a traditional veranda with magnificent views of Mt. Barney. There are no televisions, phones, or computers but with many activities available and attractions close by to visit, these should not be needed while on vacation in these rural cabins in Queensland, Australia. Henrys Hut sleeps up to seven guests between a double bed and two sets of bunk beds. Foresters Hut sleeps up to 10 guests between three, bunk-style bedrooms and one bedroom with a double bed. Guests can bring their own linens or can use the ones provided by the host. In addition, Foresters Hut has an open fireplace, while Henrys Hut has a potbelly stove. Complimentary firewood is provided during the winter months.

There is a outdoor fire pit on the field below the western face of the house (this is the side of the house with the shorter deck area). Guest AccessYou will have full access to the entire property. You will see that we are in the process of developing further buildings on the property. Interaction with GuestsWe will be available by phone but live more than an hour away. The NeighborhoodWe are about 15km from Rathdowney, which has a small store, a hotel and a little museum and sometimes markets in the showgrounds. Mt Barney is not too much further away and has a number of walks of different grades. There is an olive grove on the road from Rathdowney to Boonah which has a café and store: (URL HIDDEN) If you travel further on that road towards Boonah there is the Karoomba lavender farm and vineyard with a really lovely restaurant: (URL HIDDEN) There are also various restaurants in Beaudesert. Inside you will find a open plan living area containing the kitchen, dining room and lounge. The modern kitchenette is fully equipped with all the latest appliances, including a dishwasher, under bench oven and gas cooktop. The big comfy lounge doubles as a sofa bed, also a TV, DVD player, and stereo system are supplied for your enjoyment. Ceiling fans and Air conditioning for those hot summer days and a fireplace for those cold winter nights. If you wish to go driving, head out to Spicer’s Gap, Governors Chair or Queen Mary Falls. There are many natural wonders to see around the Scenic Rim. Aratula has a great bakery, coffee shop, pub & fruit market. Don’t forget to drop into Aratula traders which sells old furniture, farm tools and more. Boonah and Kalbar also have great pubs, coffee shops, antique stores, Templin Historical Village and much more.         Boonah Hilltop Cottage is a beautifully renovated Queenslander located in a quiet cul-de-sac on one of the highest hills in town. It offers unparalleled views of Boonah from the large front deck and a magnificent outlook to Mt French and Cunninghams Gap from the rear garden. It is suitable for individual guests, couples, small groups or families for exclusive use. The cottage is self-catering and comfortably accommodates up to eight people in 4 bedrooms with one queen, one double and 5 single beds, including 2 king singles. It has both an ensuite and double spa bathroom with separate toilet. Quality linen and towels are provided throughout. A complementary continental breakfast is included for the first morning.           Heritage listed Wiss House is in the small rural town of Kalbar in the Scenic Rim. Set in the beautiful small rural town of Kalbar high on the hill it enjoys majestic views over the mountain ranges.           The SpaceThe house is a modern, open plan 4 bedroom home with all the mod cons including gas cooker, air conditioning/heating, coffee maker. We have Austar and wireless internet that we can give you access to if required. It is perfect for a couples getaway or a family friendly holiday. We have a cot (if required), scooters, bikes, sandpit, tree house, slide and swing. The pool catches all the morning sun and has a beautiful view of the property. Don't be surprised when you see cockatoos, galahs, king parrots and rainbow lorikeets as they visit our garden daily. Kangaroos laze at the bottom of our property and on occasion wallabies venture up to our top lawn for the nicer grass. We have an outdoor fireplace and you are welcome to help yourself to the firewood pile. Thoroughbred horses are in paddocks down the bottom of our fence line and see them swim in the dam every morning. Fire up the BBQ in the undercover patio area and enjoy a cold beverage in the alfresco dining space. You are welcome to have full use of the house, pool and property. We have chickens and you are welcome to check for eggs if you wish to have the freshest country eggs for breakfast. We have a main bedroom with a queen bed and ensuite, 2 kids rooms and a spare room that is used as the children's playroom. Just let us know what bedding configurations you require and we can set up rooms accordingly. Enjoy nature at its best (without actually having to go camping!!!) The Pavilion or the "Pav" to locals is a family friendly pub with a play area and putt putt for the kids. They serve good cheap pub meals for lunch and dinner every day. Getting AroundThere are no public transport in Aratula, so you would need a car to get around. We are about 1 hr 15 mins drive to Brisbane and 45 mins to Ipswich and Warwick.           The SpaceOur 20 acre block is just a couple of minutes walk from a small rural village in northern NSW and no more than 2 hrs south of Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Being in the country we don't have access to all of the telecommunication providers that the majority of Australians have in the city and living on the coast. We don't have access to Optus or Vodafone, for example. However, we are served by Telstra so if you have a Telstra account you can use your mobile phone, laptop, ipad here. We have access to a wi-fi - ask for the password (charges may apply). Our advice is to disconnect from the city and reconnect with the country. Guest AccessYou can access the great outdoors - all of our paddocks and the Woodenbong Common. Great for dog(s)! Interaction with GuestsWe are happy to provide you with tourist information to get the best from your stay with us. Happy to draw you a mud map so you can drive back to Brisbane or the Gold Coast a different way from the way you came. The NeighborhoodWoodenbong is a small rural village and it was founded to support the growth of the timber industry and the pastoral industry. In the village there is a hotel, a 24 hour Mobil driveway, a chemist, a newsagency, a hardware store, a grocery shop, a real estate agency, a panel beating service, engineering services, a take away shop and Linda's Pitstop (coffee and food), a bus service to Kyogle, Casino and Lismore, a Pre School and a K-12 Woodenbong Central school. We also have access to a Hospital, doctor's surgery and ambulance service in Urbenville (12kms from Woodenbong). Getting AroundYou need your own car. We regularly see King Parrots, Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos, Crimson Rosellas, Rainbow Lorikeets, Satin Bower Birds, Wompoo Fruit Doves, Brown Cuckoo Doves, Eastern Spinebills , Lewins Honeyeaters, Eastern Whipbirds, Firetails, etc. We occasionally spot Regent Bower birds, Paradise Riflebirds and Platypus along the creek. There has been a sighting of the endangered Coxen's Fig Parrot in the adjacent state forest. If you are travelling up or down the Summerland Way, we are a convenient stop, but you can also consider Roseberry Creek as a destination in itself.
