The SpaceThe bedroom comes with a king size bed, 2 closets, and attached private bathroom with sink, shower, and toilet. Towels and linens are provided. There are also 2 twin mattresses that may be available, so the room can potentially accommodate up to 4 people. Please check my other listings for additional availability if you have a larger group. Guest AccessYou're welcome to make yourself at home and have use of the kitchen, living spaces, and washer and dryer, just please tidy up after yourself. There aren't any TVs, but there are many books that you are welcome to borrow from off the shelves and peruse at your leisure.
There is wireless internet throughout the house. If you need to print something, let me know and I can print it for you from the desktop in the den. Interaction with GuestsI am fun loving, easy going, and friendly. I enjoy having conversations and hanging out with my guests, but I understand the need for space and privacy. My default is to follow my guest(s) lead in how much or little interaction they want.
I love going on adventures and doing outdoorsy types of activities, and I'm always up for a hike at the state park. I sometimes have a slackline setup in the yard if you'd like to give it a go :P I also have several bikes you can borrow if you'd like cycle the Swamp Rabbit trail, 2 climbing harnesses if you want to go for a climb at one of the local climbing gyms, and a kayak you can take out on one of the local lakes (you'll need a pickup truck though to transport it). I also enjoy going downtown to hang out, chill at coffee shops and try new restaurants. I'm always interested in trying something new and am happy to provide recommendations for places to visit or restaurants to try. I may be able to show you around, but I'm in the middle of studying for board exams so that would depend on my study schedule. The NeighborhoodThe house is located a quiet suburban neighborhood in Taylors, SC. The neighborhood is nice and safe, full of mature trees and lovely for taking in a stroll. The neighbors are friendly, and will often wave or say hello. Getting AroundThe house is within 15-30 minutes of pretty much everything:
Greenville Spartanburg Airport: 20-25 minutes
Downtown Greenville (including Falls Park On the Reedy, Bon Secours Wellness Arena, Peace Center): 15-20 minutes
Paris Mountain State Park: 10-15 minutes
Bob Jones University: 10-15 minutes
Furman University: 15-20 minutes
Further afield, but close enough for a day trip:
Table Rock State Park: 45 min
Caesars Head State Park 45 min
Asheville, NC: 1hr 10 min
Charlotte, NC: 1hr 45 min
Atlanta, GA: 2hrs 30 min
Charleston, SC: 3hrs 15 min
If you don't have a car and may be needing transportation to or from any destination, let me know ahead of time and I can see if I can arrange my schedule to accommodate :D There is a bus stop for the Greenlink, Greenville's public transportation system, a 15 minute walk from the house. It is on Route 11 and it is a 20 minute ride to downtown Greenville. Downtown Greenville has a bike share program (B-cycle) that has 8 stations with 35 bicycles available to rent. The daily rate is $5 (or $15/week) and the first 60 minutes are free. This is a great way to explore downtown and the Swamp Rabbit Trail, a 21 mile multi-use trail system. Other Things to NoteI have 2 dogs, so you must love or at least be tolerant of dogs. Their names are Vasco and Nova. Vasco is a Sheltie who's friendly without being over the top, while Nova loves meeting new people and playing with his toys. You are welcome to bring your pet with you as long as they are up to date with their vaccinations, house-trained, and people and dog friendly.
