The SpaceBedroom is in a 1920s home, with plenty of character. Such as the wonderfully placed doors, creaky floors, "outdated" wood paneled walls, oddly cold day room, pleasantly aromatic Library, and so on.. this place has many unique pros and cons; however there is plenty of room to relax and enjoy a tranquil environment. Pick an awesome restaurant or cook at home. Kitchen is a bit dated but has what is needed to prepare meals, television is available, but with all the sights in town, I doubt you would want to even turn it on. This room is attached to the Library which is a great spot for readers to sit and enjoy a book. Day room is also a good reading spot with plenty of day time light.
Living room has a Fireplace, although it is an insert, it provides good heat and good ambiance. Guest AccessThe room is accessible through the main house, and through a private side entrance (ask about the caution) Bedroom has its own open patio area.
Guests will have access to kitchen*, dining room*, living room* area, library, day room and back yard*.
*The kitchen, living room, dining room and back yard area is a common area that might be shared with other guests. Please be friendly to each other.
Day room and library are exclusive to one room. Interaction with GuestsSomeone will be there to check you in and out. And available by phone for any questions or concerns.
I work in Los Angeles, so i may not be around the entire stay. I will try to be there for your check in, if not i will have a family or friend there to help you check in and answer any questions your may have upon arrival. The NeighborhoodNeighborhood has its charm. Majority of the people are great. Local police are very friendly. The park across the street is a great place to walk/relax in. (The back yard too ) Indeed it has a small town feel. Horseback riders roam the streets on weekends.
Local Restaurants are all pretty great i have yet to have a bad experience. There are many choices, such as BBQ, Thai, Japanese, Mexican, Italian, and much more.. Getting AroundThere is a Taxi in town, no buses or trains, so feet, bikes and cars make for good transportation.
Tehachapi Taxi (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) Other Things to NoteThe house is old, so there are noises, smells and sights you may not find in newer houses.
The living room is mostly wood, so it has a wood smell. ( I like it)
The bathroom is all tile ( I think it feels cold)
The front door is one of two in town!
There is a little updating being done, so some things might break from age. Just report it, don't get scared, it happens.
