Description
The Space

Our cabin is so cute that you might feel faint. This tiny house is private, too! The ceiling isn't the floor of upstairs tenants and you won't be sharing walls with your neighbours. The space can accommodate 3 people, but is probably better suited for 2 people if your trip is longer than a few days. The kitchen has all of the basics covered. You also have your own washer and dryer to use. There is a wall-mounted table for dining, plus folding chairs to put out and then easily put away again. There is a loft space with a double/full-sized bed with linens, night stands, and comfy seating. There are some shelves and a space to hang up clothes. The chair on the main floor folds out into a twin bed. All towels, soap, toilet paper, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, etc. are provided by us. Street parking is readily available on request. Upon your arrival I can print out a city permit that allows you to park on the street overnight. Please note there is no TV here nor a landline. We provide you with (recently improved) high speed wireless internet. And have I already mentioned the beach?

Guest Access

Completely self-contained house with private entrance. Dedicated outdoor seating area, WiFi, private laundry. The cabin is a quiet, private, peaceful space. Come and go as you please; our cabin is your private oasis in the city. Smoking permitted outdoors in the yard.

Interaction with Guests

We personally greet all our guests and also return to the house after our guests have departed, when we clean it to get ready for our next visitors. I'm easily reached by text, email, phone, or by knocking on the door (I live in the main house) if you have questions or issues of any kind.

The Neighborhood

This is a very quiet, laid-back neighbourhood where many families with dogs live (including us). My parents often remark that everyone around here acts like they are on vacation. We are located just 10 kilometres from downtown but the Beach has a small town feel. We are located a short walk (13 minutes to be exact) from Lake Ontario, with boardwalk, running/bike path, playgrounds, public swimming pool (at the neighbourhood rec centre), kiddie wading pool (in July and Aug), and green space. We are located just two blocks north of Queen Street East, a great shopping and dining neighbourhood. There are 3 Starbucks, 2 small grocery stores, health stores, liquor store, clothing stores, yoga studios, and many independent cafes, pubs, and restaurants to lounge at, within a 10 minute walk of our house. Drop-in yoga classes in the neighbourhood abound! We also have bikes and helmets you may use. The Toronto Jazz Festival takes place every year in mid July. Winter in the beach is lovely too - very tranquil and empty of tourists. In general, Toronto tries to have fun events scheduled to get us Canadians through the long winters.

Getting Around

24 hr Streetcar: We are close to the 24-hour streetcar that runs east and west along Queen St (stop is 2 blocks south of us). The streetcar takes the scenic route to downtown. Subway: 4 blocks west of us is a bus that takes you north to Woodbine subway station, which is on the Bloor-Danforth subway line. The subway line takes you downtown in about 20 minutes. Taxi fare to or from Woodbine Station costs about $10 Canadian. And of course Toronto has a strong Uber presence. We have bicycles with helmets and locks for your use.

Other Things to Note

You'll find this house to be quiet, relaxing, and in a great location. We are a mere 10 kilometres away from downtown Toronto. We have 2 adults, 2 teenagers, and 1 mini-dachshund in the main house. You might see us on our front porch or chilling on our back deck, but we respect your privacy. Need more info about us or want to see some cool videos? Find us on Instagram as beachbunkiemicro.

Place's rules
No Smoking indoors ever. Smoking outdoors on the property is fine. Check in is between 1pm-8pm. Any check in time outside those hours must be pre-arranged with me. Check out is officially 11 am, but I can be flexible if no one new is checking in that afternoon.
