Architectually designed & constructed by award winning builders, Miyazu Views is a testament to efficient & intelligent design & the merits of modern & compact living. You’ll enjoy all-day sunshine here, the wonderful warmth of a super-insulated, solar-passive home with views across the city suburbs to the Western Ranges of Tasman Bay, & the beautiful Miyazu Gardens to the North. At 72m2 the home offers open plan living-dining-kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with full size refrigerator, dishwasher & electric stove-top & oven. This area is complemented by a walk in storage & laundry area with quality Asko front-loading washing machine. In the living area you’ll find 2 comfortable two-seater couches, dining table for 4 + baby. Music, reading & the internet are your main forms of entertainment here with a quality Technics amplifier, CD/DVD player with iPod connector, an extensive book collection for you to enjoy & high-speed Wifi throughout the house. The hallway leads you to the Master bedroom with Queen size bed first, then the twin 2nd bedroom (equipped with toys for those with little ones) & the beautiful tiled bathroom. Outside, the property is situated on a large elevated grassy section fringed by landscaping & native trees – frequently visited by abundant birdlife such as tui & bellbird. A concrete driveway with parking sufficient for several vehicles + boat leads you up to the home. There is a small outdoor BBQ area & a playhouse at the rear of the property amidst the trees. This property is a wonderful base for those wishing to explore the city on foot or bike! Many of the city’s best day-walking trails, Founders Heritage Park & Founders Brewery Cafe, Miyazu Gardens, the Nelson Cycle Way & the city centre are all within easy walking distance.

    The SpaceCosy, colourful loft bedroom with views to the sea and across the surrounding neighbourhood. You will sleep well and deeply in this relaxing loft oasis ...feel the calm and the good vibrations. Please note that our loft room has ladder access only, so will not be suitable for anyone that is unable to climb up or down ladders or young children with no sense of balance that cannot be carried or restrained. Will be fine for babies who cannot crawl yet or older children for whom risk of falling down the stairs is not a concern. We do also have another room listed under "The Tardis with sea & city views" - if available this is probably better suited for those that don't like the idea of ladder access. We do have a portacot with bedding, high chair, etc. available free of charge if you are travelling with a baby and require them. Guest AccessLarge open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area and use of bathroom. Various sunny and relaxing outdoor areas, including large deck and balconies. You are welcome to use the washing machine anytime. Unlimited WiFi access, coffee & tea making facilities are included in price. Please note that we no longer provide breakfasts and/or dinners, but feel free to make use of our kitchen to do your own cooking. There is all sorts of kitchen equipment you are welcome to use, such as juicer, blender, food processor, rice cooker, slow cooker, etc. This is a great place to relax and enjoy life, and as a base to access Nelson and everything the surrounding region has to offer. Interaction with GuestsPlease feel at home while you are here, which means you will be wholeheartedly welcomed as part of the menagerie that can be our family's life during your stay. But if you would prefer just to do your own thing, then that's perfectly okay too. We are friendly and love talking to people, swapping stories, ideas and learning new things, albeit that sometimes life can get busy with work, child's activities and other interests. But rest assured will always take the time to help you find information about things you might want to do while you are here, etc. Please note that a pre-schooler lives here too, most of the time. He has a happy, cheeky and fun temperament, is not overly noisy and sleeps well so shouldn't disturb you. The NeighborhoodQuiet neighbourhood just a 15 minute walk or 3 minute drive to town, public swimming pool, movie theatre, restaurants, cafes, pubs, museum, supermarkets, parks, river and 'Centre of New Zealand' strolls, etc. 20 min walk or very short drive to the beautiful Tahuna beach where you will find swimming, kite surfing, paddleboarding, cafes and children's playgrounds. Or stroll down to the yacht-filled marina for a looksee. Also just a short drive to the airport and bus station. We are happy to pick you up/drop off if you require and we are available. When you stay with us you are just a 10 min walk (or 2 min drive) to the main iSite information centre, which is also the pick-up/drop-off point for the bus to and from Abel Tasman National Park. Getting AroundEasy to walk, drive or catch a bus from town to wherever you may wish to go. We can also usually pick you up/drop you off to and from airport, bus station, etc. if you don't have your own transport and we are available. If you have your own car there is street parking outside our house. Note that we do live in the Port Hills, so please be prepared to walk up a hill to get here if walking. However, I walk it regularly pushing a growing boy in a pram, so if you are walk fit then you shouldn't find it too difficult. Other Things to NoteSelf-catering, please feel free to use our kitchen and equipment, crockery, cutlery, etc. Tea and coffee making facilities provided. My partner is partially blind and so a very friendly and well behaved guide dog is in residence here sometimes. We also have backyard chooks - firmly ensconced in their coop and run - but if they are laying we are happy to share their delicious eggs with you!

    The SpaceOur Penthouse Apartment is located right on the Nelson waterfront. Its one of the few apartments that occupies the 5th and 6th floors of the Latitude 41 Apartment building - giving elevated views across the harbour entrance, beautiful Tasman Bay and the activity of the city port. From the internal garage and lobby the elevator wil take you to the entry level of the apartment. Open the door to the open plan kitchen, dining and lounge areas with floor to ceiling double-glazed windows beckoning the endless sea views, powder room, laundry room, stairs to the sleeping level and the alfresco dining, barbecue and bar area of the balcony terrace. upstairs their is a study nook/office area, 3 double bedrooms (master bedroom with Super King bed and ensuite bathroom with shower and toilet, 2nd bedroom with Super King bed and 3rd bedroom with Twin single beds) and separate bathroom with spa bath, shower and toilet. Both the master and 2nd bedroom enjoy sensational sea views. The location is perfect for convenient waterfront dining, walking to the beach or city centre. The Abel Tasman ferry departs directly opposite in the Summer months, Trafalgar Park is just around the corner and the amenity of the city centre just a little further.     The SpaceApartment-1 is on the lower of the 2 accommodation levels, 1 level up from the car park. It has a large, west-facing deck & wide-opening windows & doors. The 1st rays of sun illuminate the distant mountains, the last stream over them, as the sun sets behind. Yet it’s all-weather beauty: even on grey days there’s plenty to watch. The large living/dining area has 2 nesting areas & polished-wood flooring. Furnishings are of a high quality. Modular couches can be joined to make a temporary bed. The wall-kitchen has full sized oven, drawer dishwasher, 2 electric hobs & bench-height fridge/freezer. The bedroom is a couple of steps up from the living area & looks directly out toward the harbour entrance. There is 1 queen size bed. The modern bathroom is up – a different set – of 5 steps. It has a heated, terracotta-tile floor. The laundry niche shares this level. WIFI is free. We offer reduced weekly & monthly rates. Guest AccessYou will have sole occupancy of the apartment. Access is via a fairly steep driveway. Once there, parking & turning space is good. There are approximately 16 steps up to Apartment 1 & another 16 to Apartment 2. These are normal-spaced steps with good handrails. Interaction with GuestsIt's important we know your ETA (especially if you wish to arrive early). Harbour View Apartments are self-contained & self-catered. Local managers will assist you. The NeighborhoodThe waterfront-hillside is the place to be for the best views. We are mid-way between the township & popular Tahunanui Beach: about 2.2km from either. At the bottom of the hill, Rocks Rd has a small dining strip, which includes iconic “The Boat Shed Café” & “The Boathouse”, which often has live performances. From there, it’s a flat walk to either the town or the beach. A regular bus service operates. Getting AroundIt’s 6km from Nelson Airport. The Abel Tasman National Park is often visited as a day-trip from Nelson. It’s a 1h15 drive (buses operate, by prior arrangement they can collect you down on the waterfront) to the water-taxi launch-points, Marahau & Kaiteriteri.     The SpaceThe cottage is a beautiful, simple and tastefully decorated 3 bedroom house with a new kitchen & bathroom. Off street parking in a quiet, historic neighbourhood, overlooking the port and centrally located on the Port Hills. Close to town (4 min drive or 20 min walk), the waterfront (10 min walk), and the beach (5 min drive, 30 min walk). 1.5 hr drive to each of Abel Tasman, Kahurangi & Nelson Lakes National Parks, or catch the ferry to Abel Tasman National Park from the wharf at the bottom of the hill! It is a great place to stay if visiting the Nelson region. This house suits 4 people - idyllic for a couple's get-away, but possible to sleep up to 5 comfortably. Two Queen bedrooms One Single Bedroom (Currently on request as we have ordered new beds). Good quality linens & sheets provided. Comfortable beds. Children very welcome. Please let us know so we can provide items for them. There is a park and playground across the street. Tea & coffee & most other basic foodstuffs (flour, sugar etc..) & condiments are provided. The host has plenty of cookbooks to peruse on request. This is the perfect place to come to read and eat! Guest AccessThis is a stand alone, self contained house that will be available for the exclusive use of guests during their stay. Interaction with GuestsWe like to offer our guests as much help as possible with their visit to the region, suggesting restaurants, vineyards, sightseeing trips etc. We are right next door should any assistance be needed. The NeighborhoodWe love our neighbourhood which is a historic precinct surrounded by some of the oldest houses in Nelson. There is a dairy and butcher at the corner and 10 minutes walk to the wharf for fresh fish, fish n chips and restaurants. Getting AroundThe ferry to the Able Tasman National Park leaves from the wharf around the corner. Walking to town is about 20 mins, 30 mins to the beach, 10 mins to the wharf, 20 mins to the supermarket. There is a convenience store 5 mins walk at the bottom of the street. Other Things to NoteEvery now and then noise from the Port can be heard. Only very rarely does it bother anyone - (no guests to date - that I am aware of).

    The SpaceIdeal place for a single person or couple wanting to explore Nelson. Close to beach and city . Cafes and several restaurants a minute away at the bottom of the street on the waterfront. You can also swim at the bottom of the street. There is a bus to go to the city or the beach a minute walk away and a great area to explore by foot. There are stairs so unfortunately no disability access. Apart from your room this is a shared space you share with me and my little friendly dog. Guest Access Guests have access to share a living room with me I have wi fi if you have your own device. The room is quiet and a good size with a queen sized comfortable bed . I can help you with local places of interest to go . For an extra cost 5.00 breakfast and 15.00 dinner I am happy to provide breakfast or cook a vegetarian or fish evening meal. The fish markets are close by. Casual relaxed friendly atmosphere Interaction with Guests I work from home in a different storey of the house and often go out in the evenings to classes. I am happy to help guests get their bearings in Nelson and have an evening in together if it works out that way but basically you have a key to come and go without a lot of interference from me. The living area is a share space. Use of the kitchen is only by arrangement. On occassion I may need you to be as quite as possible if I am working but this is in the day and only a few hours a week when you are most likley out. The Neighborhood Nelson is a cultural city , very sunny and with lots to do . I love my neighbourhood where you are able to walk to everywhere but at the same time have intimate sea views and peace. Our eye-popping view includes the harbour entrance (AKA “The Cut”), picture-perfect Haulashore Island, Tasman Bay & 3 western mountain ranges. There are 2 apartments, Apartment-1 has 1 bedroom & Apartment-2 has 2. The apartment is not suitable for mobile infants or young children. Apartment-2 is on the upper of the 2 accommodation levels, 2 levels up from the car park. It has a large, west-facing deck & wide-opening windows & doors. The 1st rays of sun illuminate the distant mountains, the last stream over them, as the sun sets behind. Yet it’s all-weather beauty: even on grey days there’s plenty to watch. The large living/dining area has easy flow to the veranda & a great picture window adjacent to the dining area. Furnishings are of a high quality. The renown waterfront dining strip is just 180 meters away. Kimberley House Apartment-2 is a well-equipped, 2 bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment. Apartment 2 is on the lower level - with a garden aspect & glimpse of the harbour. The living area has comfortable couches, lazy boy chairs & a large TV. The dining table easily seats 6. The kitchen is modern with a normal size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, full stove and microwave. The two bedrooms have superking/twin beds. Each has an ensuite bathroom with shower, hair dryer, heated towel rails and wall heaters. There is central air/heat. Guest Access Otarama is a family home but as I travel often the house is available by arrangement. Please write and request dates which may or may not suit my plans.The pantry is stocked and I am happy that guests use ingredients for convenience but then replace what they use. I have a BBQ on the deck , TV & sound system with i pod input , DVD player. There is a phone land line & wi fi access.Fresh herbs growing at the back door , and up some more steps behind the house , you find places to sit in (URL HIDDEN) the leafy foliage of a well established garden. You can fish from the fishing platform 3 minutes away.There is a fresh fish shop a 10 minute stroll away or Fish and Chips...a NZ (URL HIDDEN) buy and eat with the seagulls on the wharf for the real NZ experience. There are many walk ways up over the hills...with a guide book to guide you. Getting AroundPublic bus route runs on Wakefield Quay , a few minutes walk to bottom of the hill. The house is mid - way between the City and Tahunanui beach. There is one bike available for use. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom/toilet on the upper level and the same on the lower level. The lower level also has it's own living space - with TV (freeview) perfect for children or a second family. Our property backs on to the Centre of NZ, which arter a 20 minute moderate climb, enjoys the best views Nelson has to offer. Tahuna beach - a very safe swimming beach is walkable in about 30 minutes or take the drive around the pictuesque Haven to be there in 10 minutes. Of course you are only a drive away from the stunning Kateriteri beach and the gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park (50 minutes) Our comfortable, relaxed home is the perfect spot to get away from it all, slightly elevated from immediate neighbors, we enjoy peace and tranquility in the sun. The local bus depot is situated at the information centre (next to the gorgeous Riverside Cafe) , only a 10 minute walk from home. We are 20 minutes drive from the airport. About a $10 taxi ride to the center of town, about $30 to the airport. Easy parking for your own vehicle beside the garage. Other Things to NoteWhether staying for business of pleasure Nelson has a lot to offer, visiting the brook native bird sanctuary, where they have just completed the predator proof fence, is an excellent afternoon out, you may notice many native birds around the property, the numbers have increased since the birds are now spreading out from the sanctuary. Wood pigeons, bell birds, tui's, fan tails, weka are common on the street. I recommend the information center in town for a full list of the areas available attractions.
