An upholstered bench is ideal for your suitcase or for seating. A roomy closet is equipped with hangers for your clothes. Both a blanket and iron are located on the closet shelf. Room darkening drapes and mini-blinds allow a peaceful rest or open to the sun when you are ready to begin your day. Look behind the bedroom door for two soft bathrobes to use during your stay. Both a privacy lock and combination door lock on your bedroom door are furnished for your peace of mind.
Your private bathroom is located directly across the hall from your bedroom. You'll enjoy the delightfully powerful shower and quick access to hot water. A dispenser in the shower provides body soap, shampoo and conditioner at your fingertips. A hair dryer is also provided.
Kitchen privileges are enhanced with a handy beverage station that includes a coffee maker along with supplies to make coffee, tea and hot chocolate. You will also find a shared refrigerator with a small space for your food, a microwave, toaster, and blender. Use of the stove and oven is limited (see house rules).
Access to a washer and dryer in a laundry room is available for your convenience.

The NeighborhoodThis single family home is located in a quiet, residential neighborhood in West Mobile, which is basically the bedroom community for the city. Some of the surrounding area is rural in nature with horses and farmland. There is a convenient produce and fruit stand less than a mile away, as well as three major grocery stores within five miles and two gas stations close by. The interstate is only 3 miles away and yet you have the feeling of being far from the crowds or traffic in this low-key, family-oriented subdivision. Getting AroundTransportation by car is the best means of travel since you will be located 20 minutes from the downtown area, so public transportation is not available. Cabs and Uber operate in the city, if you wish to choose this mode of transportation.
You are in the hub of a variety of possibilities, which makes this home ideal to function as a home base for adventure, relaxing or business travel. The Mobile Regional Airport is very easy to access and is only 16 minutes away. Starting in November, 2016 Carnival cruise ships will depart from Mobile and the cruise terminal is a mere 20 minutes away. Special arrangements for parking and transportation can be made if you are taking a Carnival cruise.
The sugar white sands and blue-green waters of the Gulf beach is a major reason for a visit to our coast and you're in luck since Dauphin Island is only a 42-minute scenic ride from the house. In addition to the beach you can enjoy the bird sanctuary, Estuarium Sea Lab and Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island. You might even want to take the Mobile Bay Ferry to Fort Morgan to explore that sister fort.
History comes to life in many ways in Mobile, from the tree lined streets to the mansions that can be toured and these beautiful sights are just a 24-minute distance away. Downtown Mobile, which is approximately 20 minutes from the house, is filled with historic museums as well that include Fort Conde, History Museum of Mobile, Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Center and the Mobile Carnival Museum. Drive just 5 more minutes from downtown to the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park for a real step back in time. Bellingrath Gardens and Home, which is one of the finest gardens in the US, is 23 minutes away.
If you are outdoor enthusiasts you'll find birdwatching sites, kayaking, hiking and biking opportunities within a 30 minute drive. You can even take an airboat ride in the delta. Golf is also big on the coast with 375 holes available if you want to hit the links.
Try your luck at the Mobile Greyhound Park only 8 minutes away or head over to the casinos in Biloxi, which are a drive time of approximately 45 minutes. If you want to venture just a little farther to New Orleans for the day that's absolutely possible, since it's about a 2.5 hour distance by interstate.
January and February each year the city of Mobile is transformed into carnival season and it's actually where Mardi Gras originated. If you've never been to a Mardi Gras parade, it's definitely a bucket-list item that's only 20 minutes away.
A wide variety of excellent restaurants featuring barbeque, steaks, fresh seafood and many types of international cuisine are located in Mobile. Numerous shopping centers are abundant, including many antique shopping choices and for the true bargain hunter one of the South's largest flea markets is just a few minutes away.
