The SpaceI have a dear old Labrador, who loves a pat! This home is suitable for 1 guest and offers a spacious guest bedroom with double bed. The cottage is a 2 bedroom home and has a shared bathroom & living areas. The kitchen is restricted, no cooking but microwave is available for guests to re-heat food. Minimum stay is 2 nights. Having lived in this area for 16+ yrs, I am happy to share plenty of local information. As a seasoned traveler I am hoping to make your stay an enjoyable one! It is so easy to get around this area, with shops and cafes all within 10 mins walking distance. Or hop on a tram (only one block away) and take a ride along funky Brunswick St into the city. Preston Market, with loads of fresh produce, is just two train stops away. Plenty of car parking in quiet street and frequent trams (Route 11, West Preston tram#11 or 112 - stop 33) & trains (Thornbury Station) are very close by. Thornbury is 10km north of Melbourne cbd and approx. 20-30 mins to Tullamarine airport. Laundry facilities are available for guests on longer stays. A clothes dryer is available, but I much prefer to use the sun to dry clothes. All of the water from the shower is re-cycled onto the garden. The SpaceCharming three bedroom cottage in Thornbury, home of artist/academic. The house is well set up and is very comfortable and quiet. Close by attractions include a large park with exercise equipment; High Street, Northcote (hip bars, cafes and craft stores) are a 10 minute walk east; Sydney Road (ethnic delights and great food) is 7 minute drive west. It is close to trams, trains and buses (30 minutes to the city). Also close to Merri Creek and Ceres Environment park with bicycle trails that you could take all the way into the city. The house is modest and clean with all new-ish appliances and furniture. Original artwork is everywhere. House stays mostly cool in summer and has central heating in winter. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need to cook your own feasts. The backyard features well established fruit trees. There may even be some herbs and vegetables growing you could help yourself to. There are several size beds with all the necessary bedding, plus towels. As well there are desks and wardrobes where you can spread out and make yourself at home. Modern bathroom and laundry. Lounge has flat screen TV, DVD and HD digital set top box and a pretty good sound system. The house looks forward to welcoming you and hopes you will be very comfortable here! Interaction with GuestsThe space will be all yours but you can always reach me if needed. The NeighborhoodClose to everything – to the city, to nature, and to good coffee shops! Getting AroundThe area is well serviced with trams, trains and buses, as well as good cycle paths. Other Things to NoteThe kitchen/dining area might get a bit cosy with any more than three adults, but there is plenty of space in the adjoining rooms.

You can pick fruit, vegies and herbs from the garden. Interaction with GuestsWe live in the house most of the time. We will welcome you when you arrive, and see if you need assistance with getting around the local area. We will help set up your wifi internet and show you where things are kept in the kitchen, and where you can store your food. We work and lead busy lives but we will invite you to events and to meet people. We are welcoming, relaxed and respectful.

It has a bed, a wardrobe with mirror, plus a writing table. There are plenty of sheets and towels. It is right next to the shared bathroom. Guest AccessYou are welcome to make yourself at home in the kitchen as long as you clean up. There is plenty of room in the pantry to store food, as well as in the fridge. Feel free to relax on the comfy couch in the lounge room, watch a dvd, or TV, or use the bar-b-que in the back yard. Interaction with GuestsGuest's privacy will be respected at all times. If you need information and tips on where to go, I am more than happy to help with suggestions. The NeighborhoodThis is a great neighbourhood – it is quiet, yet close to so many things. High Street, Northcote (hip bars, cafes and craft stores) are a 10 minute walk east; Sydney Road (ethnic delights and great food) is 8 minute drive west; city is 30 minutes by tram or train. Getting AroundPublic transport is super convenient with a choice of trams, trains, buses plus walking and bicycle paths. Parking on the street is free. Even the airport is not too far away at 25 mins by car or taxi! Other Things to NoteSelf service breakfast available ( toast, tea, coffee) only for short stays of less than a week or for longer stays, simply to get you started until you do some shopping.

Fully enclosed and fenced, Zuki House is a private retreat for both guests and their prized pooches, being pet friendly and within short walking distance to numerous dog friendly parks. The high 2 meter front fence offers the highest security and allows children to enjoy the front and back space in a private setting with a tree swing and outdoor chalk board for entertainment. Maximizing every corner of the Victorian home, the inviting living space offers separate relaxation zones, perfect for guests to stretch out and de-stress in their own individual space.    The first lounge area offers a cinema vibe with wall mounted flat screen TV, a huge leather 5 seater lounge, large french doors leading to an outside veranda and an open fire place to enjoy a cozy night in. Car Although Zuki house doesn’t have off street parking, there is always parking available directly out the front of the house with no time restrictions or parking fees.     The SpaceA lovely full furnished one bedroom with a giant queen sized bed with a study which has a sofa double bed. less than 20 minutes into the city.A minute to Woolworth's and Aldi (supermarkets) , 7 minutes to train station, opposite tram stop and 20 minutes to airport. great cafes and shopping right outside the apartment. Guest AccessA keypass to enter the building and lift area and a key to enter the apartment. The building is very secure. Interaction with GuestsMy friend who lives 10 minutes away can be contacted at any point incase there is a problem. I will be available via email incase you have any questions too. The NeighborhoodIts a lovely street full of cafes outside my apartment block. The best one called Little Henris (URL HIDDEN) supermarkets, public transport, fuel pump, airport , shopping , everything just right outside! Getting Around7mins walk to Thornbury Station and less than 20 minutes via it to Melbourne cbd. Other Things to NoteThe bins need to be taken to the basement and emptied out there.

    The SpaceWe've utilised an elevated double bed to make the most of this compact and comfortable bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The bed is accessed by a ladder and underneath is a great little sitting area where you can read or watch tv or a movie (flatscreen tv, dvd player, dvd's and books provided). The room is located on the ground floor of our three story townhouse and is separate from the living area on level two and our private bedroom and bathroom on level three. Guests can make use of a great range of modern facilities, including a spacious modern kitchen with microwave and dishwasher, wifi, bbq, smart tv, front loading washing machine, heating and air conditioning (in living area only). Guest AccessGuests will have access to their private room and ensuite on the ground level and the living area, kitchen and balcony on level two. The laundry facilities are on level three and guests are free to use these upon request. Interaction with GuestsWe are both open and sociable types and happy to spend time with our guests when we are at home. We have lots of advice about things to do and see all over Melbourne - especially art, theatre, dining out and queer/queer-friendly nightlife and events. While we tend to keep a pretty quiet house after dark we are more than happy to share a drink or two with like-minded souls. We also love our food and cooking and look forward to sharing meals with other 'foodies' that come to stay - show us your signature dish! The NeighborhoodWe are conveniently located at the northern tip of Thornbury which has a heap of great spots to eat, drink and catch some local live music. Preston has a great market with local and organic produce, a large and diverse range of cooked cuisine, as well as an incredible deli. A casual stroll down High St will uncover loads of vintage shops, designer clothes, books, records and more! Getting AroundOur townhouse is a five minute (600m) walk to Bell train station which will have you in the heart of Melbourne in less than 30 minutes. Trams to the exciting inner city hubs of Northcote, Collingwood and Fitzroy are also in walking distance (350m to the 86 tram and 850m to the 11 tram). Melbourne is also a fantastic city to explore on a bicycle and with two free bikes to use while you stay we can provide lots of great tips about getting around on two wheels. Other Things to Note- LGBTQ friendly. - Smoking on balcony with the door closed ok. - Plenty of free parking on the street.

The sofa in the lounge room is also a double sofa bed can comfortably accommodate another 2 people. All linen and towels are provided. They are all eco-friendly organic bamboo fibre products which are very soft and smooth. If you are interested in buying new ones for your own home, there are discount vouchers available to take away with you. You can walk down to the many cafes and bars that line High St and Plenty Rd, all within walking distance. You can just walk down high street and plenty road to grab a great coffee, breakfast, lunch or dinner. Best of all is the Preston Market (Weds to Sat) with fresh and cheap food surrounded by many asian cafes and restaurants. Getting AroundIf you have a car, a private secure parking space is available.     The SpaceOur home is ideal for families and larger groups looking to get away and in a great location. There are 3 main bedrooms with hanging space / robes, 1 queen and 2 doubles. The fourth bedroom has two sets of bunk beds. The second living area has a fold out couch (if required) for extra sleeping room. The kitchen is great for entertaining with plenty of bench space, huge Ilve gas stove and oven, double dishwasher, fridge, microwave and all the utensils, saucepans, crockery that you will need. Both living area open out onto the undercover outdoor living space with BBQ and outdoor dining table. On those warmer days you have access to the swim spa/pool to cool down. There is one family bathroom with bath and shower and a second powder room. Our home is bright and airy and has a lovely outdoor space that is perfect on those warmer days. Towels and linen are all provided as part of your stay. Washing facilities, airconditioning, ducted heating, 2 flatscreen HDTV's, soundsystem, ipod doc and high speed wireless internet all at your disposal. Extra guests beyond 8 cost $40 per night. Minimum of 5 nights stay. May consider 4 nights on some occasions however a higher rate MAY apply. High speed wireless internet, sound system, 2 TV's, washing facilities, fully stocked kitchen, BBQ, pool etc. Towels and linen are also provided as part of your stay. The shed will not be accessible to guests. We will be there to greet you when you arrive and then depending on the length of your stay we may need to drop by on the odd occasion (water plants etc). Preston is also only 10 minutes from the trendy area of Fitzroy and Brunswick with Brunswick St and Smith St at your fingertips. There are lots of bars, live music venues and funky shops with something for everyone. Also 5 minutes up the road is Sydney Road well known for many middle eastern stores and famous for falafels and kebab. Head about 10 minutes further and you will hit the famous Lygon St that is bustling with hundreds of Italian restaurants and tourists. A short stroll away is the beautiful Merri creek that is perfect for an afternoon bike ride or walk. We are in a great location. Train - 10 minutes to Bell station which will take you just under 30 minutes to get to the CBD Tram - 5 minutes to the 112 tram line which will take you directly to St Kilda beach in just over 1 hr making it easy to see more of Melbourne than just the northern suburbs. We are also only 20 minutes to Melbourne airport. My husband operates wine tours around the Mornington Peninsula and the Yarra Valley which are great fun. Our check in time is 4pm because we both work. If you get in earlier, or on a weekend we might be able to work out an alternative. We're pretty flexible and easy going.
