The SpaceBuilt in 1890 as the original Trading Post to Albuquerque, N.M. Just one mile south, off the historic, Route 66, The Mother Road. The most famous road in America! It is artfully created as a adobe Hacienda with attention to detail and craftsmanship of the past. One guest room, which sleeps two, has 26,000 pieces of wood inlaid in the floor and ceiling in Native American motifs. The floor is inlaid with ten, three foot Thunderbirds and Navajo crosses in the ceiling. The second guest bedroom, which sleeps two, has Navajo Turtles in the ceiling, for longevity and the inlaid floor is a Navajo rug pattern. The large living room has beams that are marquetry inset with Native American designs seen in the 1800's. The hacienda is overly decorated with antiques and Collectibles to give the feel of what it must have been like to live back then. There is a large flag stone patio adjacent to the home which is surrounded by five acres of hills and ponderosa pines, piñon trees and (URL HIDDEN) add to modern comfort there is a four person Jacuzzi for year round pleasure. The property is the original privately owned land in the , Cibola National Forest, before it was designated as such. The best feature for me is that there are no neighbors. There is an home across the road in the woods but you don't see them. The road I am on is a National Scenic By-way of America and used as the number one practice road for cyclist! I am only 5 miles from town , thru the Sandia mountain pass at 7, 000 ft. The year round temp is always pleasant. We do get snow but, it evaporates fast. There are hundreds of miles of the best hiking and biking trails, in the country, rated for every level. I hike everyday and can guide you or your party on a most memorable hike. I am available to give tours of the Land of Enchantment as well. From pueblo history to shopping for the best jewelry deals, I'm your man. I have a Masters Degree in Art Education so I love for my guests to leave here with a life time of beautiful memories and learn something new to share with (URL HIDDEN) property is called ,Poodle Springs , because I have three Standard Poodles. Just thought you may like to know that as some people do not care for dogs or are allergic. One reason I love Poodles is that they are hypoallergenic and do not shed, ever! They have all been trained and will hopefully add to your adventure. If you need to make prior arrangements concerning them just let me know. I gladly welcome your friendly pets as well. For the past five years here it has worked out fabulously! There is tons of parking for RV's as well. I am a great cook so what ever your requests or needs I can be of service. I have connections all over for restaurants and entertainment and shopping. I consider myself the one stop shopping guru. I want your stay to be memorable and fun and that you will want to come back to , Poodle Springs.
