The SpaceCedar Nest features: • Designed for a couple, a family with two kids, or two couples that are familiar with each other • Open layout downstairs & stand up loft - 456 sq ft interior space • Sitting area with ample windows, skylight & glass panel doors • Fully equipped kitchen & dining nook • Stand up sleeping loft with queen size bed • Double sofa bed for extra guest or children • New ultra-effecient heat circulation system • Dual flush toilet in indoor washroom • Shower (...located outside!) is a private glass-covered area featuring a hot water on-demand system • Wrap around porches with partial glass overhang • Large storage shed for surf boards, bikes & beach toys • Free WiFi connection Our goal with Cedar Nest is simple: to create a cozy home-away-from-home that truly represents the character of this beautiful place and unique community. The Nest was designed as place to relax and recharge -- the same kind of place that we seek when travelling. We will consider one or two nights stays for dates available between our standard 3 or more night bookings. Guest AccessCedar Nest is easily accessible from Pacific Rim Highway. Guests are provided with a reserved parking space. The "Nest" and gear storage are a short walk from the parking spot on a pebble path. Bring your bikes! A nearby paved multiple use path for bicyclers and pedestrians allows easy access to beaches (.5 km), a nearby Tofitian-style shop complex (2 km), and on to the downtown area (5 km). Interaction with GuestsSince the nest is secluded from the main house, we always leave a welcome note, keys and associated information for our guests. Once guests have settled in, we like to introduce ourselves and answer any questions. Although the Nest is designed to be self-contained and private, guests are always welcome to stop by our house. The main house has two B&B rooms, so the front door is always open! The NeighborhoodWe are located on one acre of coastal forest, 5 km south of Tofino and a 5 minute walk from South Chesterman Beach. Thriving on the temperate climate and moist ocean air, life here is lush and vibrant. Our home and nearby Cedar Nest cabin are nestled into sunny spots and surrounded by a brilliant emerald green landscape. Pacific redcedar and western hemlocks create a natural amphitheater above a ground level collage of shrubs, ferns and mosses. We feel lucky to be a part of this niche, buffered from the elements, yet a short walk away from the wildness that makes this place so special. Getting AroundTofino has a number of transportation services for visitors. Local ground and water taxis, regional buses, boat rentals and a variety of guided services are available. Since the area is relatively flat, the bicycle is our favorite way to get around. You can rent a variety of types of bikes for a reasonable rate. Other Things to NoteGST Tax - If you booked prior to February 17, we will charge an additional 5% tax once you arrive. This tax is based on our nightly rate. If you booked after Feb. 17 , tax is included in our rates. A brief history: Owner, Sabine Hotz first saw Tofino in 1982 and eventually purchased the land in 1997. She spent a year camping on the property, helping a local master builder design her home. Starting with a small footprint, the ingenious layout integrates two split levels that take advantage of light and forest views. Two bed and breakfast rooms are located on the ground floor, personal living spaces wind up three levels above. By 1999, Sabine started Emerald Forest B&B and has since welcomed guests from over 25 countries! Sometime in the rainy season 2002, Sabine decided to build a small studio in a sunny clearing. As with many ideas, the project expanded a bit and a mere 7 years later, the studio idea had grown into a post and beam cedar cabin with full amenities, stand up loft and wrap around porches. She named it 'Cedar Nest' as it is a cozy, protected place to retreat and reinvigorate one's appreciation of this place. As a Tofino resident of 18 years, we can help you plan your visit to the outer coast. After many years as a world traveller, she appreciates how a little help with local knowledge goes a long way when exploring a new area. From land to sea, she can offer ideas for activities based on your needs and interests. Additional resources regarding the area are easily found on-line.

Wellness & recreation retreats are hosted throughout the year. We invite you to have a taste of our Tofino life on the ocean to rejuvenate your mind body and spirit. Nestled in an acre of cedarwood forest, in a small cove, watch the ocean tide come in... and go back out. Islands of dense old growth forest are scattered in the ocean, the Bedwell mountain range and Strathcona peaks poke through the clouds, hundreds of birds nest, bald eagles soar, wolves and bears hunt for fish, curious seals pop their heads up... This is the magical landscape of Cedarwood Cove. The cosy cedarwood cabin is a waterfront property, with perfect ocean views. It is a bright studio space of approximately 280sqft with kitchenette/bathroom seperated from living/bedroom space with a sitting area aswell as a queen bed, and can accommodate two people quite comfortably. A single mattress pad is used to accomodate for a third person, ideal for small families and good friends. The cabin is fully self contained with small kitchenette and cooking appliances: double ring hotplate, coffee percolator, kettle, refrigerator, nutri bullet blender, mini oven/broiler/grill. There is also an outdoor BBQ to use aswell as the fire pit grill. The cabin is fitted with a 3 piece bathroom: shower, sink, toilet, with thick towels and spa robes for use in the hotub and sauna. We also have a healthy supply of current films on memory stick should you wish to nest inside, just bring your own laptop. The cabin enjoys a private deck and patio doors with an outside table & chairs, and deck loungers, that look directly onto the water and wildlife. We leave Berts Binoculars, and lots of books in the cabin for you to identify the birds, its a bird watchers paradise. The whole mudflats area is protected by Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere, and is a sanctuary for wildlife. It is the most amazing viewing you can possible dream of, ask your hosts about the local ecology. The fire pit is closer to the water with sitting logs, cedar table and a grill for you to roast your locally caught fresh fish, aswell as marshmallow roasters. We leave all guests a complimentary pile of wood, and additional wood bundles are also available. There are mini trails around the property through the gardens for children and dogs to treasure hunt, a hidden fairy house and bird houses also live in the gardens. We also offer kids craft workshops, please ask in advance if available. Also available to rent is a larger 3 bed main house, nestled in the trees on the waters edge with the same stunning views. We absolutely love to hear all about your adventures, but we also value your privacy. Airbnb provides a unique experience unlike hotels, this is our HOME and we love that we get to connect with people all over the world. Whether its sharing a fire pit under the stars or chatting on the deck under an umbrella, or a quick hello/goodbye we are pretty easy going and laid back and adaptable to your needs. Cox Bay is 5 minutes away, and Long Beach 10 minutes away. So much to do outside or simply relax at the cabin, kick back and watch the neverending stream of nature passing by. Getting AroundRent a bike from us! There is an awesome bike path from here all the way into town which takes around 10-15 minutes to cycle, and also goes to as Cox Bay just 5mins cycle away. Its the way locals get around rain or shine so leave the car behind. Be kind to the environment!
