The SpaceCozy log cabin nestled into a hillside with wonderful view of the lake (Cranberry Pond). Located in the Berkshire Mountains of southwestern Massachusetts the cabin comfortably sleeps 6 people in 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds. (We also have an inflatable queen bed that can be set up on the landing in the loft if you want to have 8 people in your party. Our grand children love sleeping on it! There is a full kitchen and full bathroom and an enclosed "outside shower" with hot and cold water. (Great for rinsing off after a day at the beach or for a "starlit evening shower"). The cabin features a lovely covered deck equipped with Adirondack chairs, a gas grill and a dining table all of which overlook Cranberry Pond. Great for enjoying outside dining with beautiful sunsets. The cabin also has free WIFI and free Netflex access. The cabin is a one minute walk from the beach area. The beach has a men's and a women's restroom facility on site and is bordered by the boat and kayak storage areas. The cabin rental includes unlimited use of a row boat, a kayak and a Sunfish sailboat (specific information will be provided for the use of each watercraft). "Please note"...The Wildwood Association does not allow any outside boats to be brought in to the complex for use in the two lakes. The Association works very hard in keeping the lakes weed free and by limiting the boats brought in they have kept the lakes in fantastic shape. Cranberry Pond is great for fishing (Bass, crappies, bluegills, sunfish, pickerel, and bullheads are plentiful). There is a second pond called Otter pond that is located about a ten minute walk from the cabin. This pond is stocked every year with trout and has a small intimate beach and also has a men's and women's bath house. A good place for the kids to go looking for frogs and salamanders. Guest AccessThe Wildwood complex is a secure community and has outdoor tennis courts, a shuffle board area, a swing set area and 2 basketball hoops all located near the community clubhouse. The clubhouse is located across the lake and is about a 15-20 minute walk from the cabin (5 minute drive). There is free WiFi access for guests in the cabin and at the clubhouse. There are hiking trails throughout the Wildwood complex and the Berkshires and information and maps are provided at the cabin. Interaction with GuestsMost of our interaction with our guests is done through AIRBNB and phone calls when needed. We leave phone numbers and emails at the cabin where we can be reached 24/7 if there are any questions or concerns during your stay. The NeighborhoodOne of the nice things about having a cabin in the Wildwood complex is that it is a very secure area. They have security personnel that are constantly driving about the complex and it is a very quiet, peaceful place where relaxing is easy!!! Getting AroundThe complex is relatively isolated (the nearest towns are 20 to 35 minutes away). There is not any public transportation in the area. There are miles of quiet roads to walk or bike within the Wildwood complex and also some hiking trails. Other Things to NoteWe have a free NETFLIX account for use by our guests. We also provide numerous DVD's, Video Cassettes and CD's available in the cabinet under the T.V. and on the rack for guests to use.

The SpaceLocated in the Berkshire Mountains of southwestern Massachusetts, this cottage is part of a private association called Wildwood, surrounding two lakes called Cranberry Pond and Otter Pond. Our cottage is a modified A-frame hand made by a father and sons, who were founding members at Wildwood, and has lakefront access to the main lake (Cranberry Pond) down a short flat path to the water and private dock. The cottage comfortably sleeps 6 people with 1 double-size bed bedroom, 2 twin-bed bedroom and a single bed bedroom as well as a trundle bed that can open up in the living room and a day bed in the upstairs gallery if you want more people in your party. There is a galley kitchen, dining area/living room and half bath downstairs, and 3 bedrooms and full bathroom with shower upstairs. A back utility/boat room has another small bed, across from the downstairs bathroom. The cottage features a lovely screened in porch that overlooks Cranberry Pond. Great for enjoying outside dining, bird-watching, and entertaining. We have sighted scarlet tanager, great blue heron, kingfisher and many other woodland birds. Guest AccessThere is free WiFi access for guests at the Clubhouse 24/7. We do not have Wifi or a TV/cable at the cottage. Although our lakefront and dock is wonderful for swimming, the cottage is a two minute walk from the Main beach area (one of four). The Main beach has a men's and a women's restroom facility and shower at the community Clubhouse. On certain days and times (posted) a lifeguard is on duty. The outdoor tennis courts, a shuffle board area, croquet , a swing set area/picnic ground, baseball/soccer field and 2 basketball hoops are all located near the Clubhouse, which houses a library and relaxing tables and sofas as well as the Wildwood Office. The laundry is also located there, (electric key access) and cards for the laundry can be purchased. Croquet and Shuffleboard equipment kept in the laundry. The cottage rental includes use of a row boat, 3 kayaks and a canoe (specific information will be provided for the use of each watercraft). Cranberry Pond is great for fishing (Bass, crappies, bluegills, sunfish, pickerel, and bullheads are plentiful). Remember the bait. We have some fishing supplies, but live worms reap the best fishing experience. Catch and release is mainly practiced. Otter pond is located about a 15-20 minute walk from our cottage. This pond is stocked every year with trout and has a small intimate beach and also has a men's and women's bath house. Our kids loved to go looking for frogs and newts, and built elaborate sandcastles there. Floating docks are also features of both lakes and beaches. Please remember your guest pass when driving to the beaches and use the designated parking areas. Interaction with GuestsWe live a distance away, but can call on neighbors or staff if you need help. We are available by phone and email. The Wildwood office hours are posted, and there are security and maintenance staff on duty every day. The NeighborhoodThere are many walking trails and paths throughout the complex that you can explore and information and maps are provided. The lakes have wonderfully clear, soft water that is always refreshing and enjoyable for swimming and boating. Trolling motors only are allowed, so the pond is very quiet, with paddlers and sailors, and fisherfolk, and some say mermaids and mermen have been sighted. Getting AroundThe complex is relatively isolated (the nearest towns are 20 to 35 minutes away). There is not any public transportation in the area. There are miles of quiet roads to walk or bike within the Wildwood complex and also some hiking trails. There are three adult size bikes and one child’s bike available for your enjoyment. The closest markets are in Granville and Southwick to our east, Winsted Ct. to our south, and Otis to the north. Shopping before you arrive is recommended. Other Things to NoteWhen driving into the driveway please be aware of the well head on the right side by the road as you enter. Dogs are not allowed on beaches, and must be leashed. We have a running overhead line to hook your dog up roadside. "Please note"...The Wildwood Association does not allow any outside boats to be brought in to the complex for use in the two lakes. and no outside watercraft of any sort are allowed in the lakes. The Association works very hard in keeping the lakes weed free and by limiting the boats brought in they have kept the lakes in fantastic shape. No automatic dishwashers or private laundry facilities are permitted in the Wildwood homes, to protect the PH of the lake. The cottage does not have Central Air-conditioning or heat at this time. The woodstove is what we use to warm up a cool night, as we are only open three seasons. Key to tennis courts, and electric key fob for laundry hanging on key rack in kitchen.

The SpaceMy family rented this place from its then-owner for a weekend in 2015 for a getaway and fell in love. We bought it shortly after and have been enjoying it ever since. We hope to share our enthusiasm with you! The site: This is a unique place. It is right on a beautiful lake, surrounded by state forest, which also surrounds the rest of the lake. It feels like you own the lake, very different from the other place you’re probably looking at. The forest and lake are pristine, and you will see at most a handful of kayakers per day (there’s a rarely used public launch). The lake is beautiful. There is an incredible variety of wildlife out on the lake and in the adjacent forest, ranging from salamanders to herons, beavers and the occasional bear! The noise of the crickets at night is charming. We have a rickety dock and two small boats, but those aren’t accessible to guests for liability reasons. Please bring your own boats though, and use the public launch: the water is beautiful! To check the lake out for yourself (not my video): search for "twining pond youtube". The house: It is very well equipped! We use the space a lot, and we cook/grill frequently for big groups and have generally fixed up all the little issues that exist in homes where the owner doesn’t really use the place. The pictures are very honest: we love it, but you’ll see it’s not grand or hotel-like. It sleeps 8 people very comfortably (four new queen beds/new linens), and it could sleep two more on a fold-out sofa in the living room. There’s a crib and bassinet, which can also be used. The neighborhood: We are out in the middle of the wilderness, but there’s an incredible amount to do within a reasonable drive. If you’re looking, you probably know about the big Berkshires attractions, like Tanglewood, Jacob’s Pillow, and the Mass MOCA. But in addition, there are nearby hiking trails, lakes, berry picking, and local antiquing. There is a pizza place within a few miles and the Granville Country Store has essentials, about 10 minutes down the road. In summer, the Gran-val Scoop is a delicious stop for locally made ice cream and has a charming petting barn/yard. This is a very special place, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do. We’ll be happy to share with you all that we have discovered in the neighborhood and do whatever we can to make your stay pleasant! Interaction with GuestsWe will be available by phone to deal with any issues... but we think there will be none. Getting AroundYou need a car, for sure. The roads are very passable in every season
