Update- We now have a pontoon boat available for rent. Our large 3 bedroom, 2 bath cabin is located on a very quiet and private bay of Long Lake in the famous Harrison Hills of Northern Wisconsin. We are just north of Gleason, east of Tomahawk and south of Rhinelander. Our property currently consists of 2 large lots totaling over 4 acres with 687ft of frontage. We also have a newly constructed 3 bedroom, 2 bath cabin down the shoreline which allows us to offer bookings for larger groups and events. This cabin has very large windows and patio doors that offer amazing views of the lake. Each of our 3 bedrooms feature log beds for a true northwoods experience and are tastefully decorated. Why shouldn't you have the best while on vacation! Specifically our home sits off of a large 8+ acre bay which is connected to the main body of Long Lake by a short channel. There is a fantastic boat landing about 1 minute south of our home that will accommodate virtually any boat you may have. Our bay is popular with our local Loon population because of the plentiful fish but also because of the low pressure from boats. You will definitely want to get up early, for just one morning to enjoy a cup of coffee on the deck and listen to the echoing calls of the Loons greeting the morning sun. In the evening, almost like clockwork they say goodnight as the sun drops below the high ridge lines. Please give the loons plenty of distance during the summer as they will most likely have young with them. If pressured, they will find other areas to call home. We also have a large population of adult Bald Eagles that love to perch on the trees in our bay while they search for a fish to scoop up. Due to light boat traffic the kids can enjoy swimming and fishing without constant abuse from boats and waves. We have a 30 ft wide beach area that is currently shared with our neighboring cabin although you can swim anywhere along our shoreline. The crystal clear water is fantastic for scuba diving, swimming and snorkeling while fisherman will be excited to hear that we have an amazing fishery. In fact this body of water is not well known by outsiders but locals know what lies beneath! We scuba dive this lake weekly so just check with us and we can let you know where the walleyes are at. Last year’s largest crappie was 15 7/8 and walleye over 25” are not uncommon. We currently have a large 32 ft dock for our guests to use during their stay. We also have a swim platform that our guests are welcome to use and is anchored just offshore. The area for swimming has a nice gradual slope which is a rare find on this glacier lake which has a decent bottom. Although we continue to do our best to keep it clear, we encourage the use of water shoes if you have them. Keep in mind the deepest part of this crystal clear lake is over 75ft deep so beach area is very valuable! Our kids have plenty of beach toys that you are welcome to use. Don't forget to check out the videos of footage shot on the lake while scuba diving. The links are right below 'owner info’. Last but not least is the need to bring a good camera. Our scenery in this area is some of the best in northern Wisconsin. From loons, ducks, deer, turkey to beautiful sunrises and the amazing night sky filled with millions of stars that you won't see anywhere else. It is dark up here with no city lights within 20 miles. Our family loves photography so all the pictures in our home are from our travels from Wisconsin all the way to the Florida Keys! Summer bookings are from Saturday to Saturday. We may however have some flexibility so contact us directly.
