The SpaceThis very private, detached cabin overlooks the main house and yard. A covered deck is attached with views of fish pond, waterfall, foot bridge and vegie garden. The deck is yours to use for barbequeing or simply lounging and enjoying the sound of birds. There is a freshly made and comfy queen bed, small well equipped kitchenette including fullsize fridge & microwave oven, sink, coffee pod machine and a small portable single gas burner. Coffee, Tea and many basic provisions are provided. The cabin has a luxuriously appointed ensuite, flatscreen with DVD player. Free to air television stations. There are various platforms for playing music. If you let us know which you prefer we can provide a device. Free Wifi is available on request. The cabin has lovely light, is warm in winter and is tastefully decorated. There is a small desk for lap-top, writing etc. As mentioned above, we have two dogs, Harvey & China. Harvey is a Golden Cocker Spaniel and China is a Spoodle. They both like to welcome people with loud barking. They do not bite and once guests have arrived and met them, they will settle. Dogs are separated from cabin so do not have access to guests unless guests would like to meet them. We also have some chooks that give us fresh eggs. While the cabin is generally set up for two people to share one queen bed, we do have facility to make up another small bed on the floor. Be advised it will not be of the same luxury as the queen, but suitable for child or small person to sleep comfortably. We also have a range of items to meet the needs of babies and toddlers if required to make your stay a little easier. A travel cot is also available upon request, it is of high quality and meets all safety standards and also includes insert for newborns up to 3mths. all bedding is also included plus change table attachment. Baby bath also available. Guest AccessGuests have their own private access to the cabin from a communal car parking area behind the property. Please note we have been in the process of adding drainage to the entry driveway and the paving is not yet completed. It does not interfere with access but it is not as 'pretty' an entry as owners would like at present. It is a work in progress! There is ample room for guest vehicles. There is also lock up garage space for bicycles or motorcycles if required. The main house deck has a six person hot-tub (spa?, jacuzzi?) which can be utilised by cabin guests during reasonable hours. Guests can easily access the local village shops, restaurants and cafes on foot via the the back entry or through the large and splendidly gardened front yard, which also includes Koi filled Japanese style fish ponds and waterfalls, decidous trees, flowers, an extensive variety of flowering native plants, friendly chickens and a friendly and harmless golden cocker spaniel. A journey this route may also give you the opportunity to meet the ponies next door. There is a shady outdoor table and seats if you wish to picnic under our Golden Ash in the peace of the garden. Interaction with GuestsWe are happy to engage as much or as little as guests wish. If you just want peace and quiet and your own space for a weekend; you've got it. If you want advice or assistance, or to share a meal we're also open to that. There is usually one person at home and guests are welcome to approach with questions or requests. We are both from helping professions so if guests need local information we'd be glad to assist. We also love to BBQ, smoke fish and meats and to socialise. If guests would like to join us for a barbeque dinner on the covered main deck, or to utilise a smoker for your freshly caught fish that can also be arranged on request. The main house deck has a hot-tub which can be utilised by cabin guests during reasonable hours. It can be totally private and owners will not use deck while guests are using Hot Tub. Towels & bathrobes available & if you want candle light there are ample available, the front Koi fish ponds are lit as are some of the trees surrounding the front deck, its quite beautiful during the evening. The NeighborhoodMogo is a quaint south coast village with quality cafes and interesting shops of its own to browse. There is a great little zoo 5 minutes drive from the cabin with a world renowned breeding program for white lions, and numerous other species. There is an historical gold mining village just a 5 minute walk away. It is a 10 minute drive to Batemans Bay attractions, shopping mall and town centre; a 10 minute drive to some of the best beaches, fishing, swimming, surfing or walking in Australia. You can walk on beaches for miles without seeing another person or footprint. You can step out the back and walk or cycle through Mogo State Forest on marked or unmarked trails. A 15 Minute drive south will get you to Moruya Heads or Moruya township; with vibrant local riverside markets every Saturday morning, cafes and good health food shops. Within a one hour drive south you have Congo, Bingi, Tuross Lake, Bodalla and all its dairy and other attractions, onward to Narooma and the beautiful Wagonga Inlet with numerous charters available for fishing or whale watching around Montigue Island, then further to Tilba (the location of TV series, River Cottage Australia and more significantly the sacred mother mountain, Gulaga), then on to Bermagui. North you have bush walks and beaches to your hearts content; including Pigeon House Mountain, Pebbly Beach and the harbour at Ulladulla. Getting AroundThere is very little in the way of public transport in or around Mogo or the Eurobodalla Shire. Rixon's Bus Service will pick up or drop off in Mogo if travelling to or from Canberra. You can fly into Moruya Airport from Sydney and a taxi is available from the ariport to Mogo. Car hire is also available from Moruya Airport. Mogo is quite small and once you're here it can been traversed on foot. For sightseeing beyond Mogo, suitable private transport is advised. Car, or motor-home parking is available on site, and a garage is available for motorcycles or bicycles on request. Other Things to NoteAs mentioned above, we have two dogs, Harvey and China. Harvey is a Golden Cocker Spaniel and China is an Apricot Spoodle. They both like to welcome people with loud barking. They do not bite, and once guests have arrived and met them, they will settle. We also have a some chickens who give us nice fresh eggs & these are provided free of charge when available. While the cabin is generally set up for two people to share one queen bed, we do have facility to make up another small bed on the floor. Be advised it will not be of the same luxury as the queen, but suitable for child or small person to sleep comfortably. We also have a cot and some other baby-related equipment available if you're travelling with a baby.

The SpaceCongo Camp House is a beautiful architect designed cabin located in five acres of eucalypt forest 1.5 kilometres from the beach. It's close enough to the beach you can hear it! There are seven wild, frequently deserted beaches, all within the Eurobodalla National Park, that are within eight minutes drive with the closest being only four minutes away, door to sand. Because it's not really a house, like a normal house, and because there's a real "outside inside" feel and because most people spend their time sitting on the kitchen deck or around the fire pit it became known as the "Camp House". For those that love the idea of camping but not so much the inconvenience and still want a sanctuary from the elements and a comfy bed to sleep in then this place is ideal. That's why it's known as the "Congo Camp House", a name given to it by a four year girl called Amelie. This is sort of seven star camping!! It's NOT a hotel. We get little visitors like possums and bush rats in the kitchen and there's usually lots of birds hanging around. It's very much a bush experience and not for those expecting Hyatt style luxury. The Jarrah kitchen is actually outside on a big timber deck, under, cover of course, and sheltered from the southerlies. If its raining and cold lying on the cosy couch in front of the little potbelly stove reading a book while listening to the rain on a tin roof is just wonderful anyway. From the start we wanted to limit our impact on the five acre forest it's nestled in because it's home to lots of wildlife and we tried to use recycled products where ever possible. So the Camp House features lots of beautiful recycled hardwood timber that used to be joists and bearers from old homes and it's lined with lime washed plantation hoop pine. The doors and windows were sourced as second hand castaways. The insulation is made from PET plastic bottles and the building is sited so that we can make the most of the northern sun in winter. The end result is an amazing little building that seems to belong where it is within the forest. There is the master loft with queen size bed upstairs which offers beautiful views of the forest and two small and cosy bedrooms downstairs (two single beds and a double). So far as we know just about everyone who's stayed at the Camp House loves the place. It rarely fails to impress. It's very private. The outlook is pretty much just forest. Its simple, unhurried, peaceful and at nights we generally sit around the fire and talk or play music. We really like that mostly the people who stay understand and appreciate what we have tried to create here and so far everyone has treated the camp house and the forest with great respect. It's a great place to escape to. There nearest shops are in the small country town of Moruya about seven minutes dive away and where you can get just about anything you need food-wise. There is a bus service that runs between Sydney and Moruya but you'd need a car to get to the Camp House from Moruya. The coastline of the Eurobodlla is arguably the most beautiful and most wild coastline in NSW and mostly national park. There are so many beautiful and wild beaches to go to and an amazing array of national park destinations nearby. Guest AccessYou have access to the whole house and the five acres (2.5 hectares) during your stay. Check in time is around 1pm and check out is midday but we are fairly flexible. if there's no one booked before you then you are welcome to arrive as early as you like and the same for check out times, if no one is booked after you then you can leave as late in the day as you wish. Just check in with us the day before and we can let you know then. Interaction with GuestsI don't see you at all as I live elsewhere. The NeighborhoodThe immediate area around the camp house is forest and the coastline is spectacular and mostly protected with the 35 km long Eurobodalla National Park. Other Things to NoteWe have a resident Brush-tailed Possum who can appear from time to time. Pretty harmless and cute. It's a good idea not to leave any food out in the outside kitchen because she can sniff around after you've gone to bed and make a bit of noise.

Both levels have their own full HD LCD TVs with USB input and DVD players (Blu Ray upstairs). There is also a toilet, shower, lounge room and two bedrooms on each level. The downstairs lounge room is smaller than the top floor one (see pictures in gallery). The top level is more spacious. The laundry is located downstairs. There is no internal access between the top and bottom floors - access is via uncovered external stairs. The images in our gallery also show our storage shed adjacent to the main building. Rest assured that this is just a locked storage shed and is unoccupied. VALUE: The setup is ideal for large, extended or multiple families wishing to holiday together where they may enjoy all the comforts of home with all that this location offers and at low costs per head. To illustrate Elandra's value compare what Elandra offers with a beach cabin at the local caravan park and keep in mind that those cabins only accommodate 2 adults. Alternatively, there are cheaper, smaller, more basic dwellings at Tuross Head further back from the beach. We are confident you will see better value and reward in Elandra not just in cost but in the lasting and memorable quality of the experience you will have afforded yourself for your hard-earned and well-deserved getaway. BEDS: There is a double bed in each of the four bedrooms and the two downstairs bedrooms also have a single bed in each. The larger of the two upstairs bedrooms also has a double decker bunk. All beds have woolen doonas and top of the line memory foam pillows and are freshly made up and ready to be occupied. Towels are provided too. Guests should bring their own consumables. There is an outside shower downstairs for getting the sand off after beach visits. Guest AccessGuest have the whole house including upstairs and downstairs kitchens and lounges and laundry - It is a beach house with everything - a home away from home but by the sea. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE EASE: For your convenience we have a combination key access so you need not arrange to meet an agent to obtain the keys or return them as with most other properties so you may arrive at midnight without having to pay extra for an agent to deliver the keys to you out of hours and you never need to rush to arrive at an agreed time. Plus you can make a quick getaway or leave before sun up if you wish - total flexibility:) If we don't have new guests arriving on your departure day we will usually approve a late check out (3pm). In order to get a late check out you can just ask using the AirBnb message feature the night before as we will know by then if we can offer you a late check out and will reply with a yay or nay by the AirBnb message feature. Interaction with GuestsWe are not present when guest are staying The NeighborhoodElandra is situated in the picturesque seaside village of Tuross Head, a 30 minute drive south of Bateman's Bay on the South Coast of NSW. If coming from Sydney then the quickest route is via the Hume highway through Goulburn, Tarago and Braidwood which takes less than four hours and is an hour less than taking the coast highway. Tuross is an idyllic holiday spot with beautiful beaches, lakes and great fishing, surfing, pleasure boating and golf. Also enjoy the peace and quiet and the great bird, dolphin and whale watching. The locals say they've even seen fairy penguins and seals on the beach. Access to the beach is a 70m stroll via the gateway onto the grassy public walkway immediately adjacent to Elandra's securely fenced back-yard then cross the road and you are there. There are several beaches to choose from including one that is patrolled by lifeguards. They may all be reached via the one paved coastal footpath which makes getting to them so easy while walking, cycling or pushing a pram. Also, there are two calm, shallow, sandy-bottomed lakes. There is plenty of free car parking available at all beaches and lakes ( there isn't any pay parking in Tuross - you must go to Batemans Bay if you want pay parking or crowds). Tuross has it's own shopping centre with groceries, liquor store, newsagent, and more. There are restaurants and one may hire a motor boat at the local boat shed. Getting AroundA daily coach service runs along the south coast stopping at Tuross shopping centre. Other Things to NotePets are welcome subject to discussion and a nominal surcharge of $10 per day per pet. Tuross surf is sometimes ruff, ruff, ruff, huh, huh, huh, slobber, slobber, slobber!! The beach sign at Tuross says "Dogs allowed" and it is not a typo. Our dogs love it at Elandra. They spend their days either on the beach or roaming free throughout the securely fenced back yard from where they can also access the sundeck . There are ticks in the bush so you have to know all about that stuff. For the nominal extra cost per pet we charge - why would you put them in a kennel? Give them the time of their lives instead. They must always stay outside and you must clean up any mess they may leave on the lawn and we want everyone's word of honour on that. If your pet must stay inside, or you are unable to leave it outside, or are unwilling to collect their droppings, then Elandra is not the place for you because we really must insist that animals remain outside and that our grounds are left free of doggie doo for the enjoyment of all those who may follow. Always mention your pet requirements when you enquire and we'll see whether everything is likely to be mutually suitable. EARLY CHECK IN and LATE CHECK OUT: With many of our bookings we offer our guests free (no charge) early check in (noon) and late check out (your choice of time) on their arrival and departure days. This is not offered by the local estate agents. We can't guarantee this at booking time though however, three days before our guests arrive we check our bookings and if there are no conflicting arrivals or departures of other bookings we email our guests to authorise this offer. Past guests have been particularly appreciative of this element of what we offer them as few other holiday lettings are flexible in this regard. We will bend wherever possible to maximise the quality of our guests' stay. PERSONAL MANAGEMENT BY US: We manage all aspects of Elandra ourselves and personally visit regularly and stay overnight ourselves to monitor its fitness for rental ie that all appliances work and no taps are leaking and we use a local and devoted cleaner who cleans Elandra for three hours following each booking. Compare this with a property managed by an agent with multiple properties listed, one property manager who may also be the sales person and one or two cleaners who rush around giving their properties a quick lickity spit of a clean in the short time they are allocated. :) CLEANING: We arrange for a professional cleaner to undertake a standard clean following our guests' departure. There is no need for guests to concern themselves with cleaning other than to leave the premises tidy, remove their rubbish, and leave all crockery and utensils packed away ready for following guests. VIDEOS AND IMAGES: May we suggest that you visit youtube and search videos using Tuross Head or Elandra as search terms. There you will find a few videos related to Elandra and to the Tuross Head area. For some stunning photos of Tuross Heads we suggest you conduct a search using the terms flickriver tuross head.
