The SpaceIf you enjoy the whisper of wind in the pine trees. If you have the desire to enjoy a night full of stars. If you have the time to slip away from the hustle of the city. If you wish you could listen to the silence of the frogs and crickets singing you to sleep. If you have the time it will be your pleasure to come stay at our alternative wind/sun powered earth home and naturally kept property in Washington State. The spring bloom may be your choice or maybe you would like to choose spending the winter snowed in by the fireplace with a cup of coffee, or maybe in the library writing or painting. However your choice, the Sage will be a perfect setting for your relaxation away from the deadlines and endless meetings at your workplace. This sanctuary will spawn the creative ideas of your next project or program which you have wanted to initiate. We accept the idea that you may want to complete a specialized project or masterpiece from start to finish or maybe just get the idea off the ground for the next executive presentation or the Sage may be the jumping off point for your long journey to completion of a personal masterpiece of art. Whichever selection of the latter you may have, you are welcome at the "Sage" anytime you may need. Guest AccessAs a guest at The Sage you will have access to the entire Solar Passive Earth Home. You will be secluded in the expanse of nature. You will be able to trek or mountain bike the roads around the property. Also there is a beautiful Nature Conservancy on the north side and top of the mountain which you view from The Sage. Please be respectful of private property signs and other private estate holders in the area surrounding The Sage. Interaction with GuestsYou will be greeted and assisted by at least one of three wonderful caretakers; Gabriela, Bernardo, or Mike The NeighborhoodWe Love The neighborhood surrounding The Sage because it is filled with Nature. Yes there are people but you will most likely see more natural flora and fauna than you will ever see of the colleagues which you would see in the hustle bustle of the city or village Getting AroundThe form of transportation around the Sage is best fit by trekking, casual walking, or biking... yes you can utilize the modern day dinosaur "car" :) if you like... but we really enjoy The Sage as a place to get away from the constant use of a vehicle. Other Things to NotePlease be cautious and respectful of fire... there is an inherent concern with wild forest fires in the highland desert/shrub steep environment of the Okanogan Valley in Northern Washington state. A forest fire can easily and very quickly evolve from; cigar smoking, barbequing, lighting incense on the front porch, driving a vehicle in deep grass, parking a hot vehicle in tall grass, setting a cooking pan outside in the grassy area to cool... When you enjoy your stay at The Sage please exercise extreme caution to insure that you do not start a house fire or a wild forest fire. Many Thanks from; us, the mountain, the trees, and the neighborhood in advance for your understanding

Spectacular all round views from this ranch style cabin in the beautiful Tunk Valley -- a little known piece of rustic countryside bordering the Okanogan National Forest, northeast of Omak and near the small town of Riverside. Enjoy nature from this luxury cabin and wrap-around porch. A birdwatcher's paradise the Tunk Valley also offers breathtaking views, hiking local forest trails, mountain biking the quiet country roads, fishing at Crawfish Lake, and wildlife viewing from the cabin, in the valley, and at the Tunk Valley Wildlife Area. It also offers just living with a frontier feel. In summer the land is a sea of color from the grasses and wild flowers, and with the backdrop of mountains and dramatic skyscapes the cabin is a nature artists dream. An easel is provided in the main bedroom, inspiration is provided all around. In winter the surrounding area offers cross-country and backcountry skiing, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing. The cabin is five miles from Crawfish Lake, which usually freezes hard enough to snowmobile, ski or skate on. Local skiing areas include Loup Loup Pass and Havillah, both about one hours drive away. For those not wishing to drive the cabin sits on 20 acres of private land, where guests are free to wander. A walk around the perimeter is three quarters of a mile. The cabin itself is at an elevation of around 3,000 feet, and stays a bit cooler than down in the valley. The main floor has a gorgeous living room with a gas cast iron stove for those cozy evenings. There is a large fully equipped kitchen and dining area, and a private master bedroom with bathroom. Upstairs it has two large bedrooms, and a full bathroom. A huge detached double garage is also available. The cabin is approximately 14 miles from the historic country town of Riverside and the Okanogan River, nearby towns include Omak, Okanogan and Tonasket. The Many Lakes Recreational Area offers many summer activities for boaters and fishermen. Local events include the Omak Stampede and other county fairs. Easy day trips include the Tunk Valley Wildlife Area, the Stonerose Fossil beds, the state park and historical sites at Conconully, the sparkling and unspoilt Omak Lake, the ghost town of Molson, the Loomis National Forest, the Methow Valley, and the North Cascades National Park.
