We have Tooting Market where you can pick up anything from fresh fruit to African fabrics to coffee in a bike cafe. And there are also supermarkets/shops and pharmacies within walking distance of the flat for groceries, etc. Overall, we would love to host you in our home! We have decorated the place with an eclectic mix of original art pieces, photographs and posters that we have collected on our own adventures. We love swapping stories with fellow travellers and are equally happy to leave you to explore it all for yourself. If not, you've got your private space and we're equally happy to say 'Hello' and leave you be. The NeighborhoodWe have lived in Tooting Broadway for seven years and love it! Once a little village, it's now part of Greater London with a busy, vibrant community within 30 minutes of Central London via tube. We've got great local cafes and eateries, parks in walking distance--such as Tooting Common (with the Tooting Lido -- an outdoor 90m swimming pool, open year round) and Figge's Marsh--and access to excellent transport links to the city and the countryside. For tennis history, Wimbledon Championships is a 20-minute bus ride away or, for a bit of relaxation, there is even an Iyengar yoga studio at the end of our road. Also, St. George's Hospital is a 10 minute walk away for anyone coming into Tooting for meetings, visits, or work at the hospital. Getting AroundWe've got great links to the Tube, trains and buses and happy to give you more info if you need help getting to a specific locale. Street parking is available and we can provide permits for £8/day (at cost) which is cheaper than the day meter rate; please include it in your message if you would like parking permits. Transport: UNDERGROUND From our flat, the quickest way into central London is via the Underground (aka. The Tube) on the Northern Line. It is 25 minutes to London Bridge and Oxford Circus from Tooting, for example. The nearest station is Tooting Broadway, about a 7 minute walk from the flat. Check out the Transport for London website for more information. BUSES North/south/east/west from here. We are in a great location! You can get to Clapham Junction, Wimbledon, Earlsfield, Balham, Stockwell and Victoria on one bus. We also have a night bus (N155) will bring you home in the wee hours of the night from Charing Cross/Trafalgar Square if you decide to dance the night away! TRAINS The nearest train station is Tooting Station which can take you to Wimbledon, London Bridge, and London Luton Airport directly. We are also within a bus or tube ride of Clapham Junction (for London Gatwick Airport and SE destinations), Earlsfield, and Balham rail stations as well as Clapham High Street Overground station. Guest AccessYou will have access to 1 bathroom and a kitchen and dining area that leads onto our garden with a BBQ that you are welcome to use. You will not be able to use our office but wifi will be provided. Interaction with GuestsEither we or our neighbours will hand you over the keys and then we will leave. We will be at the end of the phone if you need us. The NeighborhoodWe absolutely adore Tooting. It has the nicest pubs and restaurants without being as loud as say Clapham. You'll find the best curries in the city at the end of our road along with a great Italian place and a funky restaurant called the Chicken Shop, or nearby Honest Burger. And there's even a Pudding restaurant that just servers ice-cream and waffles etc! It's dangerously nearby... There is a big Sainbsury's right by the tube station if you want to cook at home. And our friendly corner shopkeeper will provide you with any bits and bobs you might need. If you are just visiting to see the sites then central London is a mere 20 minutes at the most on the underground and when you get back Tooting is a much quieter place to relax in. The underground itself is a stone's throw from our front door. Our neighbours are friendly and we feel very safe in Tooting. Getting AroundTooting Broadway Underground is a 5 minute walk. And there are a lot of buses routes near the end of our road. Other Things to NoteOur wifi is super fast!
