The SpaceOur log home (not really a cabin) is part of a working farm which is as quiet, relaxing and comfortable as you can imagine. Room has an additional single bed for a 3rd guest. We also have a 2nd bedroom with queen bed that sleeps 2. A 2nd private bath is available. Guest AccessAccess is open to the entire living, dining and kitchen areas. The house is a ranch (all on one floor) but does require climbing of 4 steps from the gravel driveway / deck area. Interaction with GuestsWe have been hosting guests for 30+ years and enjoy as much (or as little) interaction as they like, including gourmet sit-down breakfasts if so desired. The NeighborhoodOur farm-situated log home is on the edge of grain fields, surrounded by forests and all of the local inhabitants therein (deer, turkey, fox, eagles), many of which are frequently seen around the house. Getting AroundWe are 15 minutes from Middletown (St. Andrew's School) and about 3/4 of an hour from NASCAR / Firefly / Big Barrel in Dover (depending on traffic). Use of back roads avoids all traffic except that immediately surrounding the venue(s). Detailed maps are available. We are also convenient to wildlife areas (like Bombay Hook) for birders. By car we are 65 miles from PHL airport (about a 1.25 hour drive in moderate traffic). Other Things to NoteWe are extremely allergy conscious and request that guests not being in live flowers or wear heavy perfumes. We have cat(s) but they are not allowed in the sleeping areas. You may want to book a session and experience a super relaxed state of consciousness ... the ideal state where natural healing occurs. Cat Osho may join the session for added pet therapy! Reiki Overview A Reiki session is a super-relaxing process where we use the life force energy in the Universe to assist you in accessing a greater awareness of "who you really are" for the optimal performance of your human body, mind and spirit. Everyone receiving a Reiki session experiences a super-relaxed state of mind, body and spirit. Sometimes other experiences may be noted. You may feel the energy from me such as the heat coming from my hands and tingling sensations in your body, you may feel a slightly uncomfortable pressure (not caused by my physical hands) as an energetic block is being cleared for greater access to well-being; images may appear in your conscious mind with new insights to unsolved questions; and sometimes you'll feel the presence of your dear loved ones who have already transitioned to the other side such as family, friends and pets. They are energy too and work with the energy in the Universe to support you during this process!! My cats love the energy and will typically join the client on the table. The clients love the added depth that their energy provides. However, if you are not comfortable with that experience, we can put them in another room. A one hour session is $65. Interaction with GuestsWe enjoy welcoming our guests and sharing with them what we love about our community and we love getting to know them. However, we enjoy our private time as well and realize that most guests like their "down-time" and have their own schedules to keep... as do we. We find we offer a good balance of hospitable warmth as well as independence for our guests. The NeighborhoodQuiet, rural farm town. Close enough to restaurants, stores and cultural activities. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation to Townsend. You will need to rent a car or hire a cab service. Free parking is available on the street next to the house on Lattomus Street. Other Things to NoteWelcome Firefly music festival guests! Welcome NASCAR guests!

The SpaceThis was the original two-story building of Historic Morton Hall (built in the late 1600's). It has been completely renovated and updated. Downstairs is the private screened-in porch which enters into the great room. A small slate foyer leads into the space (approx. 16 ft. x 20 ft) which is the living room/dining room/kitchen with a lovely velvet settee that doubles as a single sofa bed. Plenty of windows to look out over the countryside and provide natural light. Go upstairs (using the pocket staircase) to the bedroom/loft. This open floor (approx. 16 ft. x 20 ft.) is bright and huge! Up a small staircase (5 steps) is the bathroom - gorgeously tiled with a large, all glass shower and a window to enjoy the views. Space has double pane/double hung Pella windows, top of the line GE appliances, custom all wood closet system, and spa like bathroom. You may never want to leave! The king-sized bed in large upstairs bedroom includes high end linens and a selection of pillows such as feather, synthetic and memory foam. The private bathroom has an over-sized shower. Toilet paper, towels, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste and other items are provided. Open closet is spacious and allows for both folded and hanging clothes. Extra towels, pillows, blankets and bed linens are kept here, along with an iron and ironing board. A fully stocked kitchen, includes full-sized refrigerator, stove, microwave, pots, pans, plates, glasses, cutlery, spices etc. Everything you need to prepare a gourmet meal. A Keurig machine with options for coffee, tea and cocoa. Paper towels, dish liquid, sponges and hand towels are included. Window air conditioning unit in bedroom. Baseboard electric heaters throughout the upstairs and downstairs provide heat during cold weather. Enjoy the morning or evenings on the quiet, screened in porch. Plenty of easy parking. Guest AccessGuests are invited to walk around the property, use the large 1500 sf patio, grill, hot tub and front porch area of the main house. Interaction with GuestsI love guests and enjoy showing off the rest of the property. I am available, in-person, most weekends and can be as interactive as the guests desire. I am very responsive by phone and text. The NeighborhoodJust under 1/2 an hour from Washington College and historic Chestertown (numerous festivals such as the Chestertown Tea Party, Harry Potter Festival, First Fridays, Saturday morning farmers market Chestertown Jazz Festival, Riverfest ). 15 minutes from Crumpton Auction House (Wednesdays). 40 minutes from Rock Hall (Pirates and Wenches Festival) 40 minutes from Dover (Firefly music festival, NASCAR, University of Delaware) 15 minutes from historic Middletown/Odessa (Grapes and Grains festival and Peach festival). Getting AroundWe are located right off of Route 301. No public transportation in this area. Other Things to NoteUnhook, unplug and enjoy. No television, no cable and no wireless Internet. Cell phone signals are strong so if you have 3G, 4G or LTE, there are no issues making calls, surfing the net or even watching Netflix on your devices . We are 1/4 mile off the Foxhole Landing which is a public boat ramp to the Sassafras River, so if you are into fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, jetskiing or waterskiing, this is a lovely location and access point. The landing is an ideal put-in site for canoes and kayaks, though paddling this stretch of the river is only recommended at high tide. There is a blue heron rookery directly across from the landing, and the upper Sassafras winds past wooded bluffs where numerous kingfishers perch in search of unsuspecting prey. In late summer, the shoreline near the Route 301 Bridge is lined with wild rice and cattails, and in the fall, tickseed sunflowers add a splash of gold to the scenery. Upriver from the landing, the waterway peters out in a tangle of fallen trees after 2 miles, just below the old mill town of Sassafras. Heading downriver, it is approximately 3 miles to Georgetown, with numerous creeks worth exploring on both sides. The house is NOT handicap accessible. Access to upstairs bedroom and bath is a pocket staircase.

The SpaceThis house may not be appropriate for crawling babies or toddlers who are just learning to walk since there are many stairs. Fenced-in yard Garage not available for use at present. Please inquire for availability. Guest AccessThere is a pool and tennis courts in front of the club house which charges $10 per person for a day pass. Food and cocktails available to order from the clubhouse while at the pool! Interaction with GuestsWe live nearby and are generally available at check-in. If not, we have relatives local to Middletown from whom the key can be picked-up. The NeighborhoodVery bright second-level open living space with two bay windows. Getting AroundThe townhouse is within walking distance to the pool, tennis courts (fee or membership required for these and golf course) farmers market (open only on certain days) and our favorite, the Mid-County bowling lanes and "Family Fun Center." Our favorite pastime is to play pool there because dad always beats us badly at bowling and because it's so relatively inexpensive and accessible (have not experienced wait times) The pool table sits in a pub area, but the atmosphere is still very family oriented. Other Things to NoteThere are 3 bedrooms. One is very small. Of the 6 total rooms, 4 are VERY large. Unit is 2000 sq. feet and 2nd and 3rd level filled with light. The beds will accommodate 5 people, but the sofa in the living room will accommodate a sleeper as well. Alternatively, the living room, den or master bedroom are large enough to accommodate a queen-size "instant" blow-up bed. There are two full baths on the 3rd floor. There are powder room/ half baths on both the second and first floor. Unit will be up for sale shortly. Please inquire for availability. Thanks!
