We provide an "old west" feel combined with the luxuriousness of 400+ count fine bed linens, cozy comforters, propane "fireplace", and buffalo robes. Arrival Day: Pick folks up from the Bozeman airport or hotel and head up to Wild Echo Bison Reserve. To begin your journey into the world of the bison, we will stop for a picnic lunch at Madison Buffalo Jump State Park before heading on to Wild Echo Bison Reserve. Monday through Wednesday: We will spend our days participating in wildlife and bison projects. These studies are varied and dependent on the time of year, but we do at least one different project daily, so you will be exposed to a variety of wildlife projects . Thursday and Friday: After our 3 days of living with the bison and wildlife, we will take you on our Yellowstone National Park Overnight Tour. FAQs: I'm only one person - can I still do come for a Wildlife Immersion Vacation? If you are a single person, or your group is smaller than 3 people, please contact us for our scheduled Immersion Weeks.     Large beautiful 7+ bedroom 3,400 sq. ft. home located in west central Montana that sleeps 15 adults in 5 queen, 1 king, and 3 twin beds plus more room for children. We are located at the end of a private road in the middle of 2 million acres of the Lewis & Clark National Forest. This property can serve as your base for big game hunting including elk/deer/bear where you can hunt right out the door. Abundant rivers, streams, lakes and reservoirs are nearby for rainbow and brown trout plus some of the best walleye fishing is just 1.5 hours away at Canyon Ferry Reservoir. Newland Creek Reservoir is just 10 minutes away with a great rainbow trout population. The Smith River is just 45 minutes away and is one of the best blue ribbon trout streams in the state. Or you can travel 1.5 hours to fish the Yellowstone, the Missouri, or the Madison River to name a few. Snowmobilers can access the 300 miles of groomed King's Hill snowmobile trails right out the door. Downhill skiing is also just 10 minutes away at Showdown Ski Resort or you can travel to Bridger Bowl north of Bozeman just 1.3 hours away. Cross country ski trails are also just 15 minutes away. Our home is a great destination for family reunions, wedding anniversaries, and even weddings as we can seat 50 people inside the main lodge room or have your wedding outside in our private back yard. Three full size tables are available that seat 8 people each. A fully stocked gourmet kitchen is available for your use along with 2 gas grills outside. Outside we have a fire pit where you can keep warm and star gaze without any light pollution, the stars are absolutely amazing from our back yard. If you haven't seen Glacier National Park, it is one of the most beautiful National Parks in all of the US. It is just a little over 3 hour drive northwest of us, plan to stay one night in the park to see all of the amazing sights like Grizzly Bear, Bighorn Sheep, Moose, Elk, and Rocky Mtn. Goats all in the wild. The Going to the Sun Highway is a must to see. Or you can travel 2.5 hours southwest to Yellowstone National Park where Old Faithful and the many beautiful sights await your visit. Our home town of White Sulphur Springs is know for its hot mineral springs baths and is just a 1/2 hour away. They are open 7 days a week for your enjoyment. The Bar-Z ranch is just 10 minutes away where you can book a day of fishing on their 100,000 acres cattle ranch that was settled right around Custer's last stand. The ranch has over 30 miles of fishable rivers and streams where our guests have caught over 70 trout in one day. There are many old ghost towns nearby for you to explore or you can go to an active sapphire mine where everyone is guaranteed to find at least one sapphire in a bucket of gravel. Right out our door you can hike or mountain bike in the National Forest or take your 4-wheeler exploring on many forest service roads. We have a local population of mule deer that will stroll by our windows once or twice a day. If you are lucky, you may see a moose, black bear, elk, or even a wolf crossing the road near our home. Our vacation home has wireless internet and satellite TV plus over 150 DVDs to enjoy in two other TVs in the bedrooms. We have a great selection of board games as well to enjoy. The main lodge room is approximately 40 feet by 40 feet with plenty of room to enjoy your family get together or what even the occasion is for your gathering. Our home is at the end of a private road so there is TOTAL privacy and we border the National Forest so access is no problem. We look forward to having you as our guests.     The SpaceYou can wake in morning with coffee on the patio and watch the sunrise over the Big Belt Mountains reflecting off the River. You might even see a Bald Eagle fishing, deer grazing, or a resident Moose that sometimes wanders down the river. Located just a mile from town with several restaurants and 3 miles to Canyon Ferry Lake. There always seems to be something special going on during the summer weekends. We are located 32 miles to Helena and 60 miles to Bozeman, 140 miles to Yellowstone National Park, and 230 miles to Glacier National Park. Guest AccessOur home is located on 1 acre with neighbors. We are pet friendly and have 3 dogs. Your apartment is on ground level and we live on second floor. You will have patio furniture and an outdoor grill. You have a private entrance to come and go as you please. There is enough off road parking for about 4 or 5 cars. Interaction with GuestsIf I am in town, I will be more then happy to help you make reservations to events or to help you in your decisions on sightseeing. My daughter also helps me when I can't be here. We will do every thing possible to make your stay a memorable one.       You’ll love my place because of The outdoors space - sits right along the bank of Newlan Creek and is within a mile of Newlan Creek Reseviour, 23 miles from Showdown Ski Hill, 12 miles from White Sulphur Springs. Lots of access to hiking, fishing, skiing, boating. Or swimming at the Natural Hot Springs in White Sulphur Springs.. My place is good for couples and families (with kids).

            The 8 bedroom lodge is located 8 miles south of Showdown Ski Area with downhill and cross-country skiing + 300 miles of snowmobile trails. Walk out the door to Elk & mule deer hunting. You can also walk from lodge to a small trout stream or drive a short distance to major streams, rivers, and Newland Creek Reservoir for great rainbow and brown trout fishing. Local fishing guides are available on a neighboring 100,000 acre working cattle ranch with over 30 miles of fishable rivers and streams on the property (names and phone numbers can be provided). Or you can be guided on major nearby rivers like the Smith, Missouri, Yellowstone, Madison, Gallatin, etc. for either 1/2 or full day fishing trips. Three major reservoirs on the Missouri River (including Canyon Ferry Reservoir which is just 90 minutes away) has some of the best walleye fishing in the US plus rainbow and brown trout fishing as well. The forest around the lodge is also great for 4-wheeling, mountain biking, hiking, and bird/wild game watching if you choose. Star-gazing is also incredible as the lodge is located at 6200 feet above sea level and there is NO light pollution so the stars look like you have never seen before. Just 20 minutes away to the north is Memorial Falls which is only a short hike from the parking lot off HWY 89. A must to do is soak in the mineral hot springs pools in White Sulphur Springs just 1/2 hour away. The lodge is a great place for family reunions with plenty of space in the main lodge room to spread out. A piano and foosball table are also available or you can choose from the many board games, or pick a book from the large library. There is a large screen satellite TV or pick from over 100 DVD/VHS movies provided for your use plus 2 additional TVs are in the bedrooms. We have also had people use the lodge for a small wedding/wedding reception, 50th wedding anniversary, quilting, scrap-booking, etc. It is a great place to use as a base location for your vacation to tour both Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks which are 2.5 to 3 hours away. The lodge has 1 king bed in the master bedroom w/private bath, walk-in closet and love seat. In addition there are 5 queen private bedrooms and 3 twin beds that all share 3 bathrooms. The main lodge room has fully stocked gourmet kitchen with 3 dining room tables that seat up to 8 people each, 2 gas grills are available for all your BBQ needs, plus all linens/towels are provided, just bring groceries. Wood burning stove is available for your use with split provided wood in the over-sized double garage. Paper products and many spices are available in the cupboard for your use. Outside in the back yard is a fire pit that you can build a fire to sit around to enjoy the cool evenings and tell your favorite stories or roast smores for desert. Some outside lawn furniture is also available for your use and enjoyment as well. Grocery delivery from a local store in White Sulphur Springs is also available, just request the phone number.
