As a family with young children we wanted somewhere to escape to and this house is in a no through road behind the local school so the roads are quiet and we have been teaching our youngest to ride a bike. We are 6 minutes by car to Raspins Beach and 10 minutes to Orford Golf Club. Triabunna is less than an hours drive from Hobart airport and has all the amenities a small town requires while retaining the relaxed atmosphere of a coastal fishing harbour. There are local playgounds, Basket ball, netball and tennis courts. Easy to get about on foot or by bike as the area is level and roads are quiet with plenty of footpaths. Maria Island is the nearest National Park and as an early convict station has plenty of historical buildings and ruins to be seen. The wildlife is abundant and it is not unusual to see the nocturnal animals happily going about their business during the day. There are many beautiful walks of differing lengths to suit all ages and capabilities. We would also recommend visiting Freycinet National Park further up the East Coast.
