The SpaceWe offer 5 bedrooms with a good assortment of sleeping arrangements. Our property is 20+ certified-organic acres, where we grow fruits and vegetables and raise chickens. We just happen to also run a B&B and Spiritual Retreat Center, plus have a Buddhist Temple, Druid Sanctuary, Standing Stone Circle and Walking Labyrinth on the property! The setting is spectacular, with a view of Mt Adams, and a seasonal pond. The B&B has 5 rooms, and all are decorated with sustainability and being kind to the earth in mind. There is plenty of space to relax, so visit us soon! Guest AccessAll of the Abbey is open except for the residence. The Buddhist temple is open 24-7. The only restriction is the chicken yard, which is closed to all but farm workers. Guests have access to the B&B kitchen, which has a stove, full refrigerator/freezer, and a coffee/tea bar. Feel free to call if you have any questions. Interaction with GuestsThere is usually a member of staff on hand at all times - if you need some help, just ask! Generally, we can offer recommendations on activities and local spots for dinner. The NeighborhoodOur property is located at about the middle of the Trout Lake Valley, approximately 4 miles south of Trout Lake, and 25 miles north of White Salmon WA and Hood River OR. We're surrounded by farms, most of them organic, but none closer than 4 acres away. We are a few minutes away from the White Salmon River. It's a peaceful and quiet neighborhood. There are a couple of restaurants in Trout Lake, a grocery store, an historic inn, a coffee shop, a yarn and wool goods shop, a hardware store, gas station, the Grange and a post office. There is also the Mt Adams Forest Service Ranger Station, and they are happy to help people find their way around the Gifford Pinchot forest. Getting AroundWe are about 4 miles from the town of Trout Lake. If you're coming from the Portland area, you can rent a car and be here in about 1 1/2 hours. There might also be shuttles at the airport that could bring you here. There is no public transportation in our area that would get you to White Salmon or Hood River, the two nearest towns, but there are taxi's that will drive up this way. Other Things to NoteCheck-in is usually after 3pm, and checkout is by 11am. If you need to make other arrangements, just let us know. We're happy to work around your schedule, most of the time.
Feel free to bring along a bike during all but winter season. There are miles of roads to bike and see the beautiful countryside!
