Our creekside cabin expands with the french doors (2 sets) opened - mountain breezes flow thru the house. The kitchen/dining area features vaulted 16' ceilings with windows capturing views of the creek and property. Enjoy the days and nights on our massive rear deck, fully screened with transparent roof panels to keep the bugs out! Enjoy a glass of wine on our patio furniture or make S'mores at our fire pit. Get cozy on our front porch and read a novel - a great mix of open space & quiet reclusive areas - whatever suites your mood. Guest AccessVisitors will have access to the entire house with the exception of the basement which is used for storage and utilities. Interaction with GuestsOne of the members of our family or a representative will meet you to show you around and acquaint you with the property. We feel your privacy is important to the enjoyment of your stay, so we will not interfere with your vacation unless you seek our assistance. The NeighborhoodThe Village of Barbours, Pa includes a mix of recreational/seasonal properties and full time residents. The village is quiet and remote and is in close proximity to about every outdoor activity that can be imagined. Great for a morning walks, but other examples include; fishing (the PA Fish Commission stocks trout near our home & the Susquehanna River & Hunter's Lake are each about a 20 minute drive), canoeing, kayaking, snorkeling, hiking (the 59.2 mile Loyalsock Trail is > 5 miles away), mountain biking, street biking, camping. There are scenic overlooks, ATV & snowmobile trails, cross country & down hill skiing. If you are in the mood for fine dining, a movie, or shopping, the city of Williamsport, PA is approx. 25-30 minutes away. Getting AroundOur cabin is a semi-remote, though other cabins and neighbors are in the Mountain Village of Barbours, PA. The closest general store is +/- 3 miles away in Proctor, PA. There closest beer distributor is in Hillsgrove, PA +/- 8 miles away. There are small mountain taverns and restaurants within 10-15 miles drive. The lovely summer community of Eagles Mere, PA is about a 30 minute drive. Best to grab what you need on the way up to the creek house if at all possible - then you can just chill out when you get there!
