The SpaceMake your visit to Ithaca extra special with a stay at a future artist/musician retreat. 6 miles outside of town on 6 gorgeous acres overlooking a pond and 120 more acres of rolling farmland. Comfortable modern "dwell" like living quarters with cork floors, radiant heat, and surround sound system. Spacious studio and loft ready for your creative endeavors or just to enjoy a beautifully crafted unique space. The studio is equipped for a serious artist or musician to work on a quick project (longer stays available next year). A hot tub (2-3 person size) awaits under the stars, and a second bedroom is available when booked at the 4 or 5 person rate (even if only 2 or 3 guests must book as 4 to use 2nd bdrm.) (please send an inquiry for availability). The dream of being an artist/musician retreat is still alive, but not completely realized at this point. In this transitional stage it is a great spot for anyone to have a peaceful getaway , enjoy wine country, revisit school friends, or enjoy any of Ithaca's many treats while staying in a very unique and creative setting(URL HIDDEN) This is not a cabin in the woods type of retreat though. There is a farmhouse that was built starting in around 1810 housing the caretaker (me at present) that may become a writer's retreat quarters down the road. There is a barn in the process of becoming a glass casting studio, and then of course the highlight; your 1500 sq. ft. dream live /work studio. Privacy is at a premium here and guests are left on there own after a brief orientation to the space. Outdoor areas orient in different directions for each space as well.

The Cottage at the White Gazebo is a private and quiet, cozy abode situated near the pool at the Landmark Finger Lakes estate, the White Gazebo, in Trumansburg. The estate is located one mile from the start of the Cayuga Lake wine trail, one mile from Taughannock Falls, the premier sightseeing destination in the area, and less than two miles from Cayuga Lake, which is accessible to the property within minutes. The Village of Trumansburg has a dynamic life of its own worth visiting, with several upscale eateries, coffeeshops, craft and gift shops, and even a homemade chocolate shop! With acres of woods surrounding it, it is very quietly private and cannot be seen from the street. It is a full 50 yards from the main house, and there is no other home in the near vicinity, so at night in the cottage the only sounds are those of the surrounding woodlands and the waters of the pool. The cottage is quaint- about the size of a medium hotel room; it is just right for two, with a 'microwave efficiency' kitchenette, a small fridge, and a table outside for dining. The bathroom is full, with a shower stall with a full pressure head, a small vanity and storage spaces. You might not cook a full meal here, but you can certainly make breakfast, and warm foods from your easy excursions uptown to Trumansburg's fine eateries. The cottage has A/C which keeps it nicely chilled within minutes; but if that's not enough, the pool is directly outside- so the cottage is perfect for the warmer weeks of summer. Cottage guests should be aware that it is possible that the pool area may be shared with guests from the main house, who have their own entrance to the pool area. Driveway and parking are not shared, however, as the cottage has private driveway access and two parking spots. The White Gazebo property is home to an original Victorian gazebo built in 1852, as well as a picturesque period barn, sprawling pastures, and quiet woodland privacy. The regal, historic home includes three/four bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms. Private terrace and patio for gathering, picnicing and barbequing, and extensive grounds for walking, or just sitting and sipping wine and enjoying the bounty of the Finger Lakes. If interested only in the cottage, Please contact for possible openings at the cottage that are not listed, as it is not let until the corresponding week at the main house is rented. The SpaceOur hope is that guests will appreciate the retreat-type atmosphere of this Federal farm house, even as we continue to work on the renovation and decoration. Guest AccessGuests are welcome to use the living room, porch, decks, and grounds. We do a lot of cooking and canning, so the kitchen is not regularly available and there may not be much room in the refrigerator. You are always welcome to make tea. Interaction with GuestsWe want to be here to greet you and make sure you get coffee and breakfast. We are sociable introverts, happy to help you find local places of interest, but we won't be talking your ear off. The NeighborhoodTrumansburg is a lively small town with several good restaurants, an excellent used book store, and some cute shops. Ithaca is about 12 miles away, Watkins Glen about 15. Both Cayuga and Seneca lakes and wine/cider/cheese trails are easy to get to. Getting AroundThe TCAT bus from Ithaca is about a 2-3 mile walk. We may be able to pick you up from there. Probably best to have a car. Other Things to NoteWe are working on the house and property renovations and keep ducks and chickens, so we cannot guarantee constant quiet. We aim to have quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

There's a lot to see and do around here - you will not be bored! The NeighborhoodBeautiful countryside, yet easy and fast access to Ithaca, Trumansburg, and the entire Finger Lakes region. Very close to the site of the renowned Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival, as well as Taughannock Falls State Park. Getting AroundThere is an Ithaca city bus that stops at the corner a short walk from the house. However, having your own wheels is recommended if you really want to see the area. Other Things to NoteThere are no animals living here now, however, there used to be a cat, so if you are highly allergic, you may want to consider this. The cat didn't go into the guest quarters, but it's likely there is still some dander and cat hair in the main living area.

The SpaceThis is a country getaway but with road access and charm. I think the porch and various walking trails make this an attractive, comfortable house for larger groups or a couple looking for some peace and quiet. Guest AccessBe comfortable and make yourself at home. However, please keep tidy and respect the property. Nothing is off limits in the house except for the attic and the second floor of the barn. Please don't go up there, there's nothing to see and it's a little dangerous. Interaction with GuestsLittle to none. I'll probably be out of town but if you need something I have family in the area. There's a rare chance I may be on the property in a tent, I do have 6 acres and during the summer it's nice to camp outside. The NeighborhoodThis house is not in deep Trumansburg, it is sigfnicantly closer to Ithaca (about 10 minutes to downtown) than houses further out. The neighbors, well, only one is close to the property and she has her own house as well. Getting AroundThere's transit at the end of Route 96 at the intersection with Perry City or a park and ride in Trumansburg.

The SpaceThis space is right off the main door, downstairs of the house with its own wood pellet stove. These futons are high grade and comfortable for sleeping. Guest AccessGuests will be able to have their own privacy downstairs and walk straight downstairs. Interaction with GuestsI'll be gone during the day at work from 6-6pm or so. In the evening we may mingle but I'll be most likely busy. The NeighborhoodI'm in between downtown Tburg and Ithaca. It's a great relaxing place to be. Getting AroundPublic transportation is at the bottom of Route 96, the bus goes by regularly into Ithaca or over to Trumansburg. Other Things to NoteThe basement does have an access point to the laundry so it would be necessary to walk through on occasion. However, no laundry will be ran during evening hours or when guests are around.
