For full details, many more photos and availability calendar, please visit our site (see "More Information," below). Our vacation home is located at the end of an 800-ft.-long driveway on a secluded, two-acre lot overlooking Cape Cod National Seashore. The house, which has been featured in a national magazine and two books, initially enjoyed a water view of Cape Cod Bay and 10-mile distant Provincetown from its small rooftop deck but trees conspired to take that view away but we still enjoys the expansive 360-degree view, sunsets and private sunning this contemporary "widow's walk" offers. In addition to the two queen bedroom, there are two 18" thick air mattresses (one twin and one queen) that can be set up for children. The owners live live in a small 1BR home (formally the "Guest House") that lies down a 150-foot long trail from the man house. The distance, change of elevation and trees protect your privacy. The owners often make their 1BR home available for rent (together with the Main House or separately) for a couple weeks in summer. As you can see from the photos included here, it has a nicely crafted hardwood interior and is perfect for a couple, a small family, or as a "space of our own" for older children. This home is air conditioned and has a nice stone patio with an outdoor fireplace and outdoor shower. Please ask for more information if you think you might be interested. Just bring yourself! We supply bed and bath linens, beach chairs, and more. The main house kitchen is nicely appointed and fully equipped. The SpaceBig, sunny, newly remodeled kitchen with high-end appliances and large gas stove. Le Creuset pots and pans, chef knives etc. Basically, everything a foodie needs, including seating for 8-10. Large open floor plan living room with flat screen TV, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is a queen size bed upstairs and 4 twin beds downstairs. There is also a large deck, fireplace and an outdoor shower. We spend summers and winter break at the house, so it is full of paperbacks, DVD's and board games. This is a rare Truro property that has been totally remodeled with high end touches, yet it is still affordable. For kids, there is wooden swing, a tree-house and a zipline, upon request. Use all at your own risk. The property also has a large shed full of bikes, boogie boards, beach chairs and a kayak. Please note: the bikes are not fancy. We leave them out as a courtesy for guests to ride around town without having to worry about anything happening to them. If you are a serious biker, please bring your own bike. Guest AccessOutdoor shower, treehouse, large deck, two grills, bikes and a kayak. Interaction with GuestsWe are happy to answer questions via email or text, and go out of our way to ensure guests have a great time. We can accommodate pets, including cats, late check-outs etc. and unlike most Truro rentals, we provide sheets and towels, as well as bug fluffy down comforters and great amenities. However, we are not a hotel. We are a family who rents out our second home in a flexible manner that is very rare in Truro. The NeighborhoodWe are half a block from the Castle Hill arts center and a 5 minute drive from Corn Hill Beach (or a 15 minute bike ride.) The yard is large but it does butt up against the town hall, so there is a small amount truck noise during weekday mornings. We don't mind it but some folks might. Getting AroundThere is a local bus that goes directly to P-Town. Other Things to NoteThe house shares the property with another cottage -- occasionally both houses are rented out at the same time. Each house has their own deck and privacy but they share an outdoor shower and parking lot. During the summer, our neighbors occasionally host parties that go until late.

Fifteen minutes to Provincetown's fabulous entertainment, restaurants, boutiques and art galleries. Ten minute walk to scenic harbor and Pamet River. The SpaceIf you are planning a family vacation in Truro out near the tip of Cape Cod, this is a simple, comfortable home surrounded by lawns. It's set on almost 2 acres, on a private lane that winds down to the Pamet River and provides deeded access for kayaking at high tide or walking at low tide. It's a great place to relax. You'll be within easy biking distance of Balston ocean beach or the bay at Corn HIll ( also walkable). It's a short drive to other Truro and Wellfleet beaches and the freshwater ponds and 10 minute drive to Provincetown. You can barbecue on the front patio looking out over the woods. Watch the jays, woodpeckers, cardinals, finches, sparrows, Baltimore orioles, chickadees, catbirds and mockingbirds. Bike or walk to Corn Hill to swim and explore the Truro bayside. Grab a beach chair and drive backroads to the freshwater ponds or grab a boogie board and head to the ocean. Pick up organic tomatoes, corn, lobsters and herbs down the road and cook dinner in the fully equipped kitchen (no plastic plates, plenty of pots). Head to the beach for a bonfire. Go to Provincetown for penny candy or to watch whales and people. Or stroll to the Blackfish, a nice little restaurant just down Castle Road. The house has three bedrooms and two baths. The master bedroom has it's own bath, with stall shower, and a queen bed. The second bedroom is large and has three twin beds. The third bedroom is smaller and has a double bed. Both these bedrooms share a hall bath, with a tub. There's a large living room and dining room area, with a picture window looking out over woods. There's also a fully-enclosed sun room which is ideal for morning coffee. You can play on the lawn, walk about 100 yards down to the Pamet river for hikes at low tide or kayaking/canoeing at high tide. Corn Hill bay beach is about 1/2 mile away and Balston, the nearest ocean beach is about 1.5 miles, as are several freshwater ponds. The house is very central to beach activities, and a 15 minute drive to Provincetown for shopping, dining and strolling. Also about 10 minutes to the quieter town of Wellfleet, which has a number of art galleries. About 1/4 mile away is a great fish market and well-stocked general store. Getting AroundYou'll need a car, but biking is also a great way to get to the beach. The Cape Cod Rail Trail runs from South Wellfleet to Dennis and the Provincetown bike trails are shorter but run through the dunes. Other Things to NoteGarbage pick up is Friday. The SpaceOur private family vacation home is located right above Longnook beach--one of the most beautiful beaches on earth. There are ocean views from the back deck. You can occasionally spot a whale while you are grilling! On cool nights, you can warm up and get cozy in front of the fireplace in the living room. This home has been in our family for a couple of generations. For the past few decades, it was the summer home of our family matriarch, a NYC artist with whimsical and eclectic taste, and it is filled with her antiques and amusing tchotchkes. The house is quite rustic, but it has a lot of charm. It’s best for a single family, couples or small group of friends, and not suited for children under age 10. There are three bedrooms available. The master bedroom (with 1/2 bath) has a queen size bed, another room has a full size bed, and the third has two twin beds. There is one half bath, one full bath, and an outdoor shower. Please note that in the peak summer months we prefer Saturday to Saturday rentals, as Saturday is the usual turnover day on the Cape. Guest AccessFirst and foremost, the house is walking distance to the beach. We are renting out the whole house when we aren't there, so there is open access to everything but the one room we use for storage and the outdoor shed. Interaction with GuestsWe won't be there during your stay. The NeighborhoodTruro is a small, rural community on the Southern tip of Cape Cod, between Wellfleet and Provincetown. Over half of the land in Truro is part of the National Seashore, making it a very quiet and restful place. There are swimming ponds to explore, world class beaches on both the bay and ocean side, and fantastic restaurants are close by. Getting AroundYou will need a car, but many people get around on bikes. Other Things to NoteThis is a well-loved family home. It's rustic, but it as all the basic amenities you need.

Interaction with GuestsPlease consider our home like a comfortable inn. We will provide continental breakfast. We provide extensive information about the area and will gladly answer any questions our guests may have. The NeighborhoodThe best part about where we live is its proximity to beautiful places: the beaches, dunes, beech forests, harbors, National Seashore, and of course Provincetown and the rest of the Outer Cape. Getting AroundThere is a bus to Provincetown which runs a good part of the year; a car is a good idea off season. The SpaceLovely, light-filled cottage with sleeping loft, kitchenette, private bathroom with shower, outdoor shower and private deck. Although the cottage is basic, everything is clean and ready to use, and it's priced accordingly. Unlike most Cape Cod rentals, all sheets and towels, plus a ton of other amenities to provide the perfect getaway. TWO THINGS TO NOTE: DURING JULY AND AUGUST OUR FAMILY OF FOUR LIVES IN THE MAIN HOUSE ON THE PROPERTY. THE BACK COTTAGE, WHICH WE RENT OUT IS VERY SECLUDED AND THERE IS LITTLE INTERACTION WITH US, UNLESS YOU WANT IT. Beds: Queen-size bed upstairs, pull-out couch downstairs. Kitchen: Full-size fridge, stove top, coffee-maker, toaster-oven, lobster pots and everything you need to make simple meals. There is also a BBQ and an outdoor table. The cottage is the ideal size for two guests, although there is a pull-out couch for sleeping two more. The cottage has its own WIFI, flatscreen TV and Roku for watching TV, movies and other entertainment via Amazon Streaming, Netlfix, and Hulu Plus. There are bikes, beach equipment and a kayak you can borrow in the wooden shed on the property. These are our own personal bikes and beach gear that we use in July and August and we leave them out for our guests are a nice gesture. Nothing is in great shape, so do not worry if something gets destroyed but by the same token, I cannot guarantee that the bikes will be tuned-up or that some other guest did not take off with my beach chairs. Seriously bicyclists, you should definitely rent or bring your own bike! Guest AccessPrivate deck, outdoor shower, outdoor grill, washer and dryer. Interaction with GuestsWe are happy to answer questions via email or text, and go out of our way to ensure guests have a great time. We provide sheets and towels, as well as bug fluffy down comforters and great amenities. However, we are not a hotel. We are a family who rents out our second home in a flexible manner that is very rare in Truro but we expect our guests to understand the house sharing ethos. DURING THE MONTHS OF JULY AND AUGUST OUR FAMILY LIVES IN ANOTHER HOUSE ON THE SAME PROPERTY. Although the cottage has its own deck, we all share the outdoor shower. The NeighborhoodTruro is a lovely, unspoiled beach town close to Provincetown. You can easily borrow a bike from our "Fun Shed" and ride down to Corn Hill Beach in a few minutes, or take a longer ride to Long Nook in about 5 minutes. Wellfleet is 8 minutes away by car and P-Town is about 12-15 minutes away. One block away is the Castle Hill Art Center and two blocks away is the Pamet River where you can hike and kayak. BE FORWARNED -- YOU WILL NEED A VEHICLE THAT CAN FIT A KAYAK ON TOP OR INSIDE. We cannot be responsible for your transportation down to the river. Getting AroundThere is a bus that runs from Truro Town Center to Provincetown, but you really need a car in Truro to get to stores, restaurants, etc. Other Things to NoteThe cottage is near to the Truro Town Hall, which means that there is some truck noise during week-day mornings as the trucks get started for the day. It has never bothered us but I like to mention it for those who are sensitive to noise.

The SpaceThe lower part of Little Pamet House, this is a classic basement apartment, a very simple, very basic accommodation. What it lacks in windows in makes up for in autonomy, with its separate outside entrance through a garden gate. There is a private bathroom with shower, and small galley with hot plate and tiny fridge, to prepare simple foods; with prior approval my main kitchen is also available to guests. There are two beds, one "double" and one "queen"; there is wi-fi available free of charge. Guest AccessEnjoy breakfast in the tiny kitchenette with a French door leading up the outside stairs to the back deck for morning (or afternoon) coffee/tea/wine in the sunlit garden. The SpaceSitting just below a pretty barn, this cottage has a pastoral feeling with verdant trees enfolding it. Some of our guests have called it a 'fairytale' cottage, but we call it Humming Bird Cottage because the Humming Birds will be coming to the kitchen window by April to sip syrup while you are making meals in the tidy kitchen with a pantry, and a laundry with washer and dryer. In the living room there is a Chickering piano, fine art on the walls, high speed internet and HD TV. The summer blue bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed and room darkening curtains so you can sleep late. There are quiet ceiling fans, but newly installed this year and completely silent, a Mitsubishi air conditioner/heater located to cool or heat the entire 600 square foot cottage. Outside, a pretty patio with a gas grill is set among a landscape of locust trees, evergreens and roses. Also new this year is a beautiful brick walkway leading down the hill to the cottage, with a paddock fence alongside. The cottage is very private and within minutes to everything. You can swim, boat, or fish in the best ocean and bay beaches on the Cape, or the nearby ponds which are only five or six minutes away. Kayak at sunset on the Pamet River with our kayak included in your rental. Wellfleet and Provincetown are a ten minute drive for memorable dining, shopping, deep sea fishing, and whale watching. For live theater and music, the Julie Harris Stage at the Wellfleet Harbor Actors' Theater, the Payomet Theater, the Provincetown Theater, and art galleries and museums are also minutes away by car or the nearby Flex bus. Golfing at the Highland Links overlooking the Atlantic is like golfing in paradise. Nearby, are the historic Cape Cod Lighthouse, Truro Historic Museum and The School for the Arts at Castle Hill. Guest AccessIn the nearby barn, there are clearly marked bins for guests to put their trash and recyled materials, and they can also put their bikes here, and store any gear they need to. Paddles and life jackets are also here for the kayak. Guests are free to use my two-seater kayak kept at Pamet Harbor, which flows into Cape Cod Bay and the Pamet River Estuary. Bird watching--great blue herons, etc. and sunsets are a great reason to go to Pamet Harbor. On the ocean side, Ballston Beach is unspoiled and gorgeous and can reached by back roads. Longnook Beach is a "hanging valley," geologically speaking, and a most splendid beach on the ocean side. Bay beaches such as Corn Hill, Fisher and Ryder Beaches can be reached by rural back roads that are only minutes away by car. Go to the end of North Pamet Road to find walking trails going up and over the dunes and looking over the Atlantic. Whale watching is an exciting experience that can be had from boats leaving Provincetown on a regular schedule. The bike trails in the National Seashore are exceptional in the Provincelands. Interaction with GuestsThe owner is available by email or telephone and can often be found working in her studio upstairs in the barn. She does the trash and recycle runs for her guests once or twice a week. The NeighborhoodThis is a quiet wooded neighborhood with lots of old locust trees, green grass and flowers. A walk to the tiny town center is 10 minutes away. Thursday night concerts are free on the Village Green, and there is a farmers' Market full of locally grown vegetables, gourmet treats and ice cream. A walk along the Atlantic Ocean is a transformational experience. Getting AroundThe Flex Bus can be flagged down at the end of the driveway to take you into Provincetown and back for a nominal fee, to eliminate the need for a parking place. Or, it can take you in the other direction, as far as Harwich. The fast ferry can take you from Provincetown Harbor to Boston and back. The airport in Provincetown can fly you to Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket or Boston. Other Things to NoteThere is a sweet little Chickering console piano in the living room of the cottage, which I try to keep in tune for my guests with a musical inclination. Speaking of music, the Payomet Theater, right here in North Truro, has world renowned musical guests, as does the WHAT Theater in Wellfleet. If plays are your thing, the Provincetown Theater and the Julie Harris Stage presents equity actors and original plays. Tennessee Williams, among others, wrote plays in Provincetown. We have a fine art school here in Truro--The Center for Arts at Castle Hill--where you can sign up for classes during your stay (Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill).
